Yep, much easier now to change the splash vid. The image change is a work around really cause yyou also need to manually change things but I wonder how long before the devs add that within the settings 🙂. Btw,video at 13:33,thats the splash vid I currently use 👍 And dont forget, you can also find all sorts of vids on yt too, doesnt have to be Batocera specific in the title. Could jist be Emulation Station vid.. Or anything you want.
Such a great video. I downloaded my favorites (I prefer the shorter videos) and now every time I boot it up, I’m excited to see which splash screen comes up.
That's not working for me. I have batocera 33, I put the .mp4 files in the splash folder, I selected the first option in the splash menu but at reboot no video appears, only the original splash screen of batocera.
First off thankyou for the fantastic videos and all the work you do, o was just wondering if there is a vertical build or mode for Batocera and if so could you when you have the time mabye upload a video tutorial, thankyou and have a great day.
An easier way to see the ES theme's loading image is to simply update your game list, you'll see it while it loads. I actually noticed the bug with the user splash **image** being shown for only a fraction of a second way back when the devs first updated the mechanism, but I guess that report just went ignored. Hopefully this video spreads enough awareness of it.
Its an alternative yeah, if… thats what you want. Some of us dont want that and have Batocera set up as the only OS on a PC. Thats where Batocera comes in.
@@fonzitheman I use Retrobat on my PC and Onexplayer handheld for Xbox 360, Xbox, PS3 and Switch emulation. But that is not the only thing. I use Xbox Game Pass and GOG....too on my handheld and PC. So with Retrobat I have all the other things a gaming device is for too. Not only booting in emulation.
I’ve been thinking of setting up Retrobat too but other than pressing F12 a few times, it really isn’t that big a deal to use Batocera. Is Retrobat as user friendly as Batocera?
Great Video, Any tricks to get a Nvidia 3080 running Batocera 33 to display HDMI out on a laptop? I have the Nvidia drivers running like you showed removing the # on a few videos back.
Hi there, amazing work as usual. Tried to resize the splash screen via the the splash.screen.resize command as shown in the documentation. However, the splash screen still shows in 4k and is therefore laggy, given the age of my card. Is there something I'm missing?
As always thanks for the detailed and useful content ! I'd like to ask for a video on how to use batocera 32 onwards on CRT tv via composite with raspberry pi 'cause until 31 it was plug and play and you just needed some tweaks ate config.txt to correct screen size. Now it freezes at bootlogo and that's it.
Great video. My issue is im running pc. Using dp video input on monitor. Screen stays black while splash video runs. Then comes back on once its finished. Splash video only runs in hdmi output. How do i switch it to run on dp video?
I use a DP to HDMI cable and working for me. But only cause I have too. The PC I use for Batocera only has DP out (and VGA) and the monitor I use doesnt have DP in, but has HDMI so… Prob doesnt help you, just saying is all. Not sure why you are having that issue though.
@@fonzitheman batocera works fine in dp. Only the splash video doesnt show. I have a 2nd monitor hooked up to pc with hdmi. When splash vid plays. It switches to hdmi monitor. Then when its over. It switches back to dp monitor
It's probably defaulting to a different display, until it reads your userdata partition and sees you have a different display set. You could force Batocera to display on a particular display by altering the boot command, but it's honestly too technical to be worth it. If you're curious though: wiki.batocera.org/batocera-and-crt#change_the_main_resolution_on_pc
You can download batocera 33 with the legacy drivers. On the batocera download page scroll all the way to the bottom and u will see it. I found it today.
Would you consider posting your videos to LBRY? I believe you can simply link your account and it uploads automatically. That way everything's backed up in case youtube starts removing content :)
I've been having trouble getting the nvidia drivers to work on v33 as well. I didn't have any problems with the earlier versions so thought it was an issue with version 33. Finally got it to work today. Don't use notepad or WordPad to edit the batocera-config file (It works with the previous versions) I had to download notepad++ to edit the file and it finally worked! This is after 15+ fresh install attempts on different computers.
Obrigado, seu vídeo ajudou bastante! To change loading image (3th) on theme carbon go to "/usr/share/emulationstation/resources/logo.png" maybe other themes can be there too
You perform a great service to gamers everywhere. Thank you so much.
Really appreciate it. Thanks!
Since v33 everything has been working perfectly. It solved all the issues I had left to fix. Really enjoying my arcade cab now :)

@Batocera Nation any idea why splash videos won't show? They used to but don't after updating at some point
There is a bug somewhere.
is there a way to add a video before a game launches
One question: Do Batocera have an Internet Browser? Or I have to go for the Plus version for that?
