We all know the fear of an Angry Mom. The fact that it's now in a fantasy world just makes the fear ever stronger to match the mother's power. Kartatz had the right idea. Run. Run and don't look back.

But what I can't unsee in this scene is the picture of Skargo behind Cayna (1:52)... best piece of background comedy I've seen in a while.
This scene is by far and wide my favorite scene in an isekai in a very long while it is so relatable it is scary. When and where I grew up when one of us children got in trouble for fighting with each other it was every kid for themselves a MOTHERS RAGE is a rare breed of monster.
and the fact that his VA is also Joseph Joestar, makes him use the most famous Joestar secret technique in the world: Run as far away from danger as possible.
It's gotta be something... that her children still fear and respect her authority as mother. And that, despite the barrier in that room, the shrieks of her precious children can be heard outside the building
This scene is my introduction to the show. I had to find other clips to understand what's going on. I thought the Dwarf was the father grandfather of the two, then thought he was a friend of the male elf. It took me looking at another clip to learn that he's their brother.

Kartatz is the typical rat sibling who runs like hell when their siblings are in trouble and they got caught, but we cant hold it against him because everyone's done it themselves at some point🤣🤣🤣
Kartatz is my spirit animal, I had such a flashback to my childhood when he booked it at the end (being the youngest of three I did the exact same thing when my siblings were in trouble).
Some call her a bad parent but these "children" are 200 years old with super powers. They are a bit old for a time out with no Xbox. Plus it's hilarious that they never learn.
Casual reminder that Cayna could quite literally destroy the country with her level & abilities. It wouldn't even be a fight. There are very few people that could actually wound her in a meaningful way left in that world, with all the players either being stuck at lower levels or gone completely.
So I know this is SUPER old. But I always wanted to bring this up and this is a pretty decent example of it. Every one of Kayna's children have various aspects of herself. It's been years since a read the novel, so I don't think they used this visual gag in the novel. The roses effects that Skargo uses for all of his effects, Kayna also uses it, but mostly for intimidation when she's mad. Something she actually uses in this scene to make herself have this crazy purple aura. She also uses it several times throughout the series. Kartatz is even more obvious, though disappointingly they didn't show the one scene from the novel that I really enjoyed between them. I can kind of understand, since Kayna and Kartatz meetup way more in the beginning arcs of the novel, so they probably wanted to even out the kids appearances. But the scene involves her on her way back to the capital, the bridge actually isn't done yet and Kartatz had just arrived with the materials to begin construction but he was still having a headache over the blueprints to do it. They have a fun bonding moment geeking out over designing the bridge together and it's really goofy and sweet. Mai Mai is Kayna's ditz as well as her intellectual side. It doesn't show throughout the the anime, since we see more of her smarts later in the series. But she is incredibly intelligent and knows more about the game than anyone else. Kayna also loves children and likes to teach them. Which is Mai mai's profession, being the head of the academy. Skargo is Kayna's playful side, and uses the same special effects skill as Kayna. While she uses it mostly to show irritation, anger or intimidation. He uses it for a beautifying effect. I good indicator of this is actually a off hand comment of Kayna, "I didn't give you this skill to be used in this way". Meaning the skill can be used in a different way, for intimidation most likely. I want to get into their "father" as well. This didn't pop up in the anime as it only happens probably 2/3rds through the novel. But Kayna is once asked about Skargo and Mai Mai's father on an expedition with Shining Saber. Kayna, never expecting this question to pop up out of the blue, panics and ends up describing Openheimer. Her "bad friend", who was actually the one who helped design all three of her children with her. She also said it, because she didn't think he was in this world, well.. she was wrong lol. This ends up somehow getting back to Skargo, this is just after Openheimer showed up again and was hanging around Kayna. Skargo confronts Openheimer on if he was actually his father, Open asks him what his mother said. So Skargo tells him what he's heard, so he tells Skargo to go ask his mother. Skargo tells Mai mai what happened which causes her to also freak out and go ask Kayna. Kayna is currently staying at an inn in the capital with Openheimer's maid while her maids are at home watching her new daughter. Mai mai asks her if Openheimer is there father and Kayna freaks out and tells a lie, that Openheimer is actually there uncle and there father was his brother. Mai mai thanks her for the explanation and leaves, but hangs out just in the hallway. Open's maid asks Kayna if it was alright to lie like that, since Openheimer doesn't have a brother. Causing Mai mai to gasp and also believe Openheimer is her father, which Kayna refuses to elaborate further on lol. Since, in many ways, he actually is there father. This picks up a dual meaning much later when you find out that the entire world of leadale was created for Kayna to try and save her life. I don't remember the specifics but Openheimer was the lead of Leadale, he was the one who created it, owned it and operated it. All of it was for her and was originally done as only a favor for her father. But in the process, he started to kind of fall for Kayna. So if Openheimer is the father of Leadale, Kayna would be its mother.
