I was just thinking the same exact thing!!! I imagine they're not easy to find for hands that tiny. there's an abundance of winter gloves/mittens that wouldn't do much to help.

You’re such a good dad! As the mom to two successful young men, (that I also homeschooled), I can tell you…these are perfect “teaching moments”. Teach him everything you can think of…math, history, environmental responsibility, economics and business (selling those lures) artistry….so much to teach! All while tossing a magnet off the side of a boat!
You sound like a GREAT Mom, though the Jedi thing has me a little worried, but still. My own mother wasn't at all bad but still she was too immature & self-absorbed to have done half of what you suggested here. I was a lot more hands on with my kids, though I didn't home school them, they absolutely needed supplementary lessons at home. Public education just isn't sufficient & it's been that way a long time.
I lost my mother a month & a few days shy of a decade ago. A botched tummy tuck, a subsequent opioid & benzoid addiction, inter-spaced with periods of alcoholism when she couldn't source it led to heart & liver issues. There weren't any real warning signs. One day she was talking about her plans for the rest of the week then the next day I had the misfortune of finding her lifeless body, cold & stiff, where she'd fallen asleep on her living room sofa.
I’ve been on UA-cam with that Jedi name since they were little and playing with light sabers! Now they’ve grown up and moved away so I guess I didn’t do too bad. :-)
I’m sorry you had that happen with your own mom…but it sounds like your experience made you a better parent.
@@2jedismom Oh wow, yeah your account is over 15 years old now! That's real loyalty to an old "handle" & I can certainly understand the reasons. :D There are some people that have actually turned the whole Jedi thing into a religion, hence my tongue in cheek concern. ;)
I've had a couple accounts over the years. The first one I deleted when taking a break from the entirety of the world wide web. Another I deleted outright when I learned how Alphabet & (Meta) Facebook handle our data. I deleted my FB around the same time; I'd already stopped using a cell back in 2014! I created this account when I added ad blockers, ghostery, a VPN & started using private browsing to try keep Google from harvesting/selling my data.
It's a shame though, I used to have a very meaningful handle which I utilized for practically everything online. It was also the first name by which my wife, of almost 27 years, knew me by!
You certainly must have done a really good job with raising your two boys but I bet it's left you with a good bit of empty nest syndrome?
Our firstborn has a low functioning capacity & some other psychological problems which makes her pretty vulnerable to outside influences. She's in her mid 20s now & I'm still her guardian. She wants to put off living in an assisted environment, besides with Mom & Dad, because I think it makes her anxious about those changes.
Our son though was well on his way to doing the same as your boys. He had just finished high school last year, got himself a job & a car, plus was making plans to move out this summer. You've heard of C19 blindness before, right? Temporary blindness induced by the illness?
We all caught it this past winter & for reasons nobody has been able to explain to us; The virus attacked our son's eyes. He went from 20/20 vision to a "recovered" state of 20/80 vision; WITH glasses. Our boy can't read, can't drive & gets lost just when he's out on walks now.
He's still trying to adjust & has regained some things he lost but others are still elusive. He still can't read very well as he has to do it character by character by using a powerful magnifying glass so it's exhausting.
I'm really proud of him though. He's a stronger man than I ever was or will be. If that had happened to me the level of despair & humiliation I would've felt would have been insurmountable. Meanwhile he's taking it in stride, as a challenge & makes light of it all the time.
