Marvel 2099 would have been the most interesting to me. Been going through my old GamesMaster magazines today and the ultimate 'classic' Castlevania: Symphony of the Night got a 72% while the PS1 release of your favourite game ever Moho got 68%. Interesting scores as well as the original reactions to the games.
After completing many times this Ps2 classic, still I would definitely love to play Ico also in that Ps1 canned version. I mean it looks gorgeous (the graphics seems more vividly coloured compared to the more mild tinted Ps2 counterpart) and then those old style fmvs, I can't stop loving em... Back in the day I had even read in a vidgames mag preview that it would have been released anyways in the 2002 or so for those who hadn't move on the next gen yet, but apparently it was just a rumour with very old pictures attached, just to make a bait news. Whatever, I hope some playable beta could leak sooner or later...

kinda surprised you didn't mention Onimusha was originally a PS1 game and visually it didn't change a ton when it transitioned to the PS2 which is quite a testament to how good the original build looked.
A great video (as always :) I've never been a fan of _Unreal_, but that prototype's still good-looking... and I love _Ico_ but never knew it began development as a PSX title - I'd love to be able to play that prototype :) Besides that, _Konami Rally_ and _Twinbee Miracle_ are the only games that I think I'd like have liked to have played...
Thanks! Been working on a video that you get a mention in actually (but I won't say what). Agree, Konami Rally looks like good fun, and yeah Twinbee looks good but not really my cup of tea.
What a great list! Hellcatraz, Saboteur, and Dream Team Basketball looked really promising. Though who would ever want to play as any other team other than the USA dream team!? Also I'm really disappointed we never got a Jet Moto 4. I was a huge fan of the franchise and would love to see it return. Awesome video and such a good idea!
Haha exactly, it's all about that Dream Team! Hakeem The Dream all the way. Yeah, Jet Moto 4 is a shame, it sounds like the development team were really excited about the future if the franchise. What a shame. Thanks, Dom, glad you enjoyed it!
Konami rally looks interesting, although as you mentioned it would have to be amazing to rise above Colin McRae and v-rally. Saboteur looks interesting, I would've definitely given that one a go. Unreal looks great, definitely a shame it didn't see the light of day. Razor wing looks interesting, as you mentioned it has a bit of a dune feel about it. Didn't know there was a twinbee RPG, the cancelled one looked great. Brilliant video, such a shame some of these never got released.
Yeah, Konami Rally, Saboteur, and Unreal I would definitely have liked to play. I loved the old arcade racers, I've never been a fan of the simulation style racing games. The last really great arcade racer for me was Blur I think (on 360/PS3). Thanks, David! A shame indeed.
I'm not sure 3D graphics were far enough along in the PS1 days to justify paying millions for someone's "likeness", but I guess I shouldn't question Activision's business strategies, when they've managed to become one of the biggest publishers simply by making the same game over and over again.
A much better line up of games in this half I feel, the games in the first half I'm almost glad didn't get a release lol. Games like Konami Rally and Saboteur would've definitely of piqued my interest in the days of PS1. I liked the info on how the dream team came to be as well, I never knew they didn't allow the USA to use their pro players, probably a smart decision but also a dick move at the same time lol.
Yeah, I'd agree there. The whole 92 Dream Team story is nuts, you should watch the documentary on it of you have any interest in basketball. During the Olympics the opposing teams would just want autographs from the US players, it was hilarious. One night they absolutely destroyed some team (possibly an African team), and that night Barkley snuck out and took them all on the lash.
Awesome video Pete! :-) it's amazing seeing all these canceled games and what they could have become. I find it 'unreal' that unreal never was released for the PS1 considering Quake 2 was released for it.

3:22 Konami Rally was cancelled due to the upcoming release of the PS2 & along with internal debates between the Eastern & Western branches of Konami. Personally, I'm glad this was never released because without established Konami characters as racers, the game would have been too generic! The only problem with my idea is that Sony's NA branch would have rejected it if that was the case. So K.R would have been released only in Japan & Europe! 5:29 The 2 playable characters are actually working for a cutthroat vigilante named Michael who is the son & last Surviving member of the mafia family you just mentioned. He hired them to get revenge for the murder of his father & family who were killed by a rival mob family after Michael's father cheated them & others in a rigged poker game at a Chicago nightclub in 1973. The game was originally scheduled for a Q4 1998 release but was pushed back to Q3 1999 for technical & financial issues. The final nail in the coffin came in Q2 1999 when Sony decided to cancel it out of respect for victims of the Columbine massacre. 6:29 Marvel 2099 was cancelled due to Mindscape's terrible performance in the stock market, which caused them to layoff a large chuck of their staff in July 1997 & were bought out by The Learning Company the very next year. Mindscape would be sold off repeatedly until it eventually secured its independence again in the Mid-2K & they eventually went out of business in 2011 & their gaming catalog was acquired by 2 other companies. Mindscape did try their hardest to finish the game but they lost the license when Marvel went bankrupt & was acquired by ToyBiz in 1997! 9:43 You forgot to mention that Battlesport 2 was also intended for the N64 along with PS1. You got all the details surrounding it's cancellation & that of Saboteur's right, but Unseen64 currently has a Patreon page with the intent to release & distribute the game at last for both consoles. The N64 port was originally going to be published by Nintendo themselves. 3DO only lasted about five years after they bought out Cyclone Studios & they filed for bankruptcy in 2003. As for the status of each of their IP's today? Here's a List: Army Men = Bought by Take 2. BattleTanx = Transferred to Digital Chocolate who cancelled the series. Might & Magic = Bought by Ubisoft. Monster Manor = Bought by EA. Godai = Transferred to Digital Chocolate who cancelled the series. High Heat MLB = Bought by Microsoft who shelved the series. Killing Time = Bought by Jordan Freeman Group. World Destruction League = Transferred to Digital Chocolate who "no surprise" cancelled the series. Requiem Uprising = Bought by Ubisoft. 4 Horsemen = Nobody wanted it. Battle Sport = Unclaimed under all titles once Digital Chocolate went bust. 10:46 Dude come on, It's Infogrames! They scraped everything they touched for fun, just to troll gamers at this point! 15:53 The Twinbee Series was predominantly popular in Japan but by 1996 it did receive some success in Europe with the 5th & 6th entries to the series on the SNES while at the time, only the 2nd game was released in NA but not EU under the name "Stinger". I guess it's possible that if Miracle was released & had it performed well in Japan, an EU release would not have been entirely out of question. The series didn't resurface in NA again until the late 2K with the VC release of the TGFX-16 port of the 4th game on the Wii. The 1st game was eventually ported to N3DS & Switch in NA tho in the early 2010's. As for why Miracle was cancelled? Konami felt like the development team had nothing better to do & so shuffled their manpower over to other games that Konami saw more profitable like Snatcher, Policenauts & Castlevania: SOTN. Later, they realized that they screwed up & got extra cash from these other titles that they decided to replace Miracle with RPG! 18:26 Dream Team was cancelled because it's developer "Anvil Inc." went out of business because Eidos' then president found Basketball to be too overrated.
@Sam Johnson *scoffs* All I did was research every game, he gave no explanation for. You don't think I checked multiple sources & cross 2 & 2 together?

As for the status of each of their IP's today?
Here's a List:
Army Men = Bought by Take 2.
@Sam Johnson like what, kid?
@Sam Johnson You can't even mention 1 game I got wrong? Sad.
@Sam Johnson Sounds like you didn't do much research yourself, kid.
@Sam Johnson *scoffs* All I did was research every game, he gave no explanation for. You don't think I checked multiple sources & cross 2 & 2 together?
