You're absolutely right. As an intermediate animator I get pissed when I see no contact between the hand and the trigger when the gun shoots, a good example is Arsenal.

Make sure everything in the gun model is unanchored expect the Handle

You could also weld the gun to torso and set up IK constraints for hands to gun and animate gun to torso only, this will be an effective method for R15 because R15 has custom scaling properties.

the rig building part was a lil confusing but once you replay and really listen to the knowledge being bestowed, it becomes easy.
also if you wanna fix the muzzle glitch set the 2nd keybind of the muzzle to the movement to 5 it will fix it

Fun Fact: It’s not resurrections lol I love that game though. The song is called Moonlight Requiem if you don’t know. For some reason resurrections plays a faster version but the song is so good in my opinion.

what you call bolt is actually a chamber, the charging handle is where you pull the chamber

This helps a lot but how did you get the gun into moon animator (I suck at explaining)
The bolt part is called "Forward Assist"
edit: nvm it's bolt, you were hovering forward assist that time
I know you said your not sure but that is called the Hammer, you thought it was a charging handle but its hammer, no worries, great video, liked :)
I think I may have been one of the old video viewers who said, "man whatdafuggitnowork" but I relized my flaw was not understanding the difference between joints and welds.
Is there a method to swapping grips with the handle during animation? Since I can't just keep an item stuck to an arm the whole time (i.e. holstering a sword/gun, moving an item from one hand to the other, operating a bolt action, etc) thanks!

tbh for people just starting, they should use blender, cuz blender is simpler and has better results if used well, moon animator can be hard to make good animations with
Blender is like a race car, it's almost required that you know how to drive a car before driving something like formula 1. Apply this analogy to the situation, Blender is much more complex, and you should be familiar with animating tools and techniques to start seeing results in Blender. You also need to set up Blender for Roblox animations, and set it up even more if you want inverse kinetics for R6 rigs. As well as just you need knowledge of how to use Blender and then how to give rigs armatures (bones) since neither the controls or rigging process for Studio are the same as Blender; so no, you shouldn't use Blender if you're starting out. The regular Studio animator is much better for starting out until you've learned enough to take it further with Blender.

Hey I had a question and I had been looking everywhere for the answer, could you answer it? So basically whenever I save my animation (export) I get a Keyframe sequence, I have no idea how to script with a keyframe sequence and I don't think there is a way to do so. Do you know how I can export my animation as an Animation instead of as a Keyframe sequence?

for some damn reason, when i was animating, my gun parts (bold handle mag etc) wasnt apearing at moon animator. idk if i just joint something at the wrong position or i did some joint things before u explain what that rig positions did (also i used a desert eagle instead of a colt. so i think that was the problem)
also when i opened up the rig edit, my chachter rig didn't appeared
Im not exactly sure with what is causing your problem but when you start the moon animator project you need to select the rig you want to animate and then you can add more through the + button@@PostalMan6

can anyone make a tutorial on how to make a gun rig similar to gb's gun rig? look at the gb kit in the toolbox to get what i mean cause i can't find anything related to that, this method i think allows for a bit more advanced stuff since the gun isnt welded to the limbs but rather the torso i believe

You need to know how to script, it's pretty basic but it might be complicated if you dont know anything about scripting, you basically need to load the animation to the humanoid through a script, and play it once the weapon is activated (basically when you click), and another one to emit a particle (you have to put a ParticleEmitter on the gun barrel and in the script just use the Emit function)

well that's just making an animation yourself and using some motor6d to make the mag and bolt animatable, but if you are talking about scripting it then that's a whole different story

How do you animate a glitch effect on a specific object or group of objects such as a character?
whenever i do the tutorial, its either my gun doesnt move, or its stuck to the baseplate (when i try to just animate the gun), or my gun doesnt stick o the characters. ive done a lot of tutorials for guns and I just dont get why it never works.
So it might be that they're welded to the ground, which often happens when you have join surfaces on (toggleable in home tab, toward the middle left). If something doesn't move, it's likely anchored, not rigged properly, or welded to something else. If it's stuck to the baseplate in this case, it's most likely welded due to join surfaces, which automatically welds things together when you, say, insert something onto the baseplate for example.
Hope this helps you 3 weeks after the fact.
ok so im not sure if im gonna make a lot of sense but i need to know how to get something to where its only attached to my character's hip temporarily. i see these animations of people using weapons and they never do any sort of unsheathing swords or unholstering a gun. but i wanna know how i can animate a weapon to where it stays perfectly still and follows their hip, and then as soon as they grab it, then it begins following their hand. is that even a thing thats possible? I NEED TO KNOW ASAP because i refuse to attach a weapon to a character's hip and then have to animate them grabbing and using it 'manually' someone please understand me and help a brother out here
How do you make the gun fire key frame (not the muzzle flash) fire instantly?
Pretty sure most people that use ma2 only animate r6 so that they can put the least effort into their animation, or because they will turn the axis the wrong way
It is because R6 can look cool in any animation you make, now r15...

sadly, i keep having a problem where the arm where i connect the gun to freezes up after rigging it up, i cannot move said arm but i can move the rest of the character body
You probably forgot to joint or weld the gun to the arm or forgot to do joint or weld other parts to the handle of the gun. This happens all the time. Try deleting all the welds and joints I’m the handle and redo it.
or the arm is welded or snapped to the other body parts

How would I go about adding bullet casings dropping to the ground?
I would make it a model and set the primary part so I can animate it by itself and then if i were to add it to moon animator, make sure transparency is enabled so you can control if it’s visible or not.
