wowwwwwwww.....................thumbs UPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-) Spectacular sunset and bumpy approach into Rwy13L, BEST I've ever seen!!! B747-400, the really Queen o the Skies!! Also the Tower looks amazing in the different lights! P.E.R.F.E.C.T.
I have been on ten 747 flights (TW, LH, DL), but I am always amazed how the wing unravels to provide lift and drag for proper landing speed. It really is a technical marvel.
Man that looked like a hard landing, and very disturbing turbulence with the high speed aileron moving up and down so swiftly like that, amazing video. Some children seemed upset and crying. Love Lufthansa and 747s.
I commented on a JFK to DFW flight, in short, I suggested using suction cups and homebrew camera holder to preserve the view of the planes attitude and hydraulic flight controls and minimize the effects of turbulence on camera shake. I like the way you preserved the view of the wing while you could see nothing but black outside. I experienced the vertigo and thought I saw the ground as in a steep right bank. It was a total illusion! Good for flight training to confirm that you MUST trust the instruments not your perception of things! NO MATTER what you feel like is happening! Good job!
Another beautiful video showing the flaps in action. Also an awesome sunset. A lot of people bitch about airport delays, but for me it's extra time to wander around and see airliners up close. My first glimpse of one as a very young child was a 707 in the early 60s and it was love at first sight. It amazes that most people are not be in awe of these marvels of our age
Excellent video ,I live in Howard Beach which lies just west of JFK 13 L and 13R and I have had the pleasure of watching these pilots perform these flyovers since Im a little kid ,great video and even better sunset...
Ahhh the 747! One of the best views too! And best airlines! This is by far one of my favourite videos on youtube! Your work seems to just get better and better! The approach full of steep turns is just mind blowing, as well as your recording skills! I really aspire to video and travel like you Dan! You're an inspiration to me, as well as other aviation youtubers! Keep up the amazing work!
Jjoerg EightyTwo ~ I scrolled down just to declare that exact thing. Unfortunately, stuck in a tube 30,000 ft plus, nothing to do, you'd think! As a retired Airline employee and an experienced flyer, (PAX - not a pilot), ear plugs are a must have. Ither that or headphones. Depending upon your arrival plans after your reach your destination, as headphones do mess with the hair, especially if it's extremely fine and soft. Nevertheless, headphones work the best, particularly if your not listening to anything. A good set of Noise Reduction headphones, like Bosë. I wouldn't suggest counting on the Airlines headgear, unless your First Class or Business Class. But then, if you have the opportunity, always travel Business Class. Just a simple tip. Wouldn't want to hear of any strangled babies on the news.
I love your videos Dantrop. This is the best armchair entertainment when not traveling. I have been quite picky when it comes to picking what airlines and planes to fly on. When looking for itineraries I first look at the aircraft then the airline. I will be going to Athens and Rome as part of a cruise and booked Lufthansa on their Airbus 380 from San Francisco and the Airbus 340 from Munich-San Francisco. I prefer Lufthansa over United for their inflight service in Economy Class and the A380. I was on the A380 on Lufthansa and enjoyed it. Call me picky but I can't really suffer flying on a 757 across the ocean.
At 0:36 the camera zooms in on the Connecticut River, Old Saybrook on the left, Old Lyme to the right. You can see the Raymond E Baldwin Bridge too, which I-95 uses to cross the river and connect the two towns.
Pretty cool 13L approach and landing, JFK is of course a never-boring airport with all the airlines. Looks like 13R was being used for departures. Also, quite the hefty crosswind on short final eh? The ailerons were getting a workout.
Next video is going to be the exact same plane as I'm going with this summer!! When I'm visiting my family in Indonesia! And this video is now one of my favourites :) thank you for sharing them :)
That sunset is breathtaking!! What an amazing video! Thank you for sharing such a masterpiece. Makes my longest travel video look terrible!(I mean that in a good way :) )
It was not Turbulent until Autopilot was turned off at 23:37 and the Jägermeister took over. Fix the sound as modern video recorders cancel the background rumble noise where as the old cameras amplify the background noise.
Hey Dantorp awesome, awesome videos of aircraft taking off and landing!!!! I really, really like your channel!!! Do you live in the US or in Germany? Two of my favs are the ones from Dusseldorf to Newark of the taxi, takeoff and landing! I'd like to see one from boarding to landing maybe see more of the inside of the aircraft!! Awesome videography, Dantorp!!! keep it coming!! And let us see what you look like!!!! Mike Williams
I love your videos, thank you for posting these. You must do a lot of flying. Are these videos all your business trips? What's your favourite plane type? A380?
Great pilot skills. So what was all those maneuvers all about? They were literally there till the last second before touch down ! Maybe the turbulent was pushing the plane to left and right? Thanks for sharing
I love your videos, I think I have seen pretty much all of them. But, you say you travel to visit family and friends, but do you have so many, you've made hundreds of videos. Keep it up, though, because they are very interesting. Also, I have always wondered where you're from and where you live. Thanks for the hours of entertainment.
Hello hope your ok, thanks for the last reply you must do more flying than a pilot:} to do all these videos on aviation. Hope you had a nice day the last week, this sure is a beautiful early morning landing for you. Do your ears hurt from decompression? i expect you take sweets for that i can remember crying as a a child anything because of this. Thanks for posting cant wait for the next video.
Of course...most passengers do not have a clue of the importance of "hydraulics" performing...without hydraulics performing...reliable, dependable, and safe flights would not be possible.
13L is the toughest approach into JFK. Yes there is a 13R (31L coming from the opposite direction) which is actually one of the longest commercial runways in North America.
Unless it's extremely low visibility and strong winds take other runways out of the question, yes. It is done like that to avoid LaGuardia traffic, which prevents a normal 10 mile (16 km) approach (except for the situation noted prior).
+Cesar Rodriguez --I think he would have preferred to be one or two rows further back rather than being right on top of the wing - but most of these videos will include the leading or trailing edge of the wing in frame throughout. It might seem like that blocks some of the view, but to an airplane geek, that wing is part of the scenery. The wing can tell you everything about the flight - the smoothness of the air, the control inputs from the pilot or autopilot, and it's just cool to watch the whole geometry of the wing change as the flaps are lowered during the approach. I love a view of the wing when I fly. Besides, there's a one-in-a-billion chance the pilots will be in a big hurry to get going, and in their haste forget to lower the flaps for takeoff [Northwest 255, Detroit, 1987]. You want to keep an eye on that, don't you? We're counting on you.
Love how that wing just comes apart ! Best part of being over or behind the wing.
WOW. Best plane performing such an awesome landing!! THUMBS UP for this pure piece of awesomeness.
wowwwwwwww.....................thumbs UPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;-)
Spectacular sunset and bumpy approach into Rwy13L,

the shot at the sun going down in the beginning is the most stunning footage I have ever seen, absolutely beautiful.
Man that looked like a hard landing, and very disturbing turbulence with the high speed aileron moving up and down so swiftly like that, amazing video. Some children seemed upset and crying. Love Lufthansa and 747s.
wow, just awesome to see the flaps doing their work during those winds.
A must see for sure. This is a classic JFK landing sequence, awesome views of New York and JFK Airport and landing detail. A true collectors item.
I live right at 7:51 south shore Long Island love seeing all the big guys coming from Europe
A landing is a landing , as long as I'm on the ground safely its a perfect landing to me .
Great video the sunset wind 13L landing hard landing = perfection can't get any better then that
Fantastic! From looking directly into the sunset to a beautiful nighttime landing! Beautiful work!
I commented on a JFK to DFW flight, in short, I suggested using suction cups and homebrew camera holder to preserve the view of the planes attitude and hydraulic flight controls and minimize the effects of turbulence on camera shake. perfection. my favorite airport in this country. thank you for your hard work
What an amazing final approach!
Amazing sunset! Amazing approach! And the control tower LIGHTS UP! So cool! Amazing video!

I think the camera mess up made the video more epic, you can almost feel the touch down! Liked a lot!!!!
Wow! No reason for saying sorry. It's one of the best plane videos I have seen.
Excellent video ,I live in Howard Beach which lies just west of JFK 13 L and 13R and I have had the pleasure of watching these pilots perform these flyovers since Im a little kid ,great video and even better sunset...
Seems like an unusual approach. Love the 747 wing and flaps!
What can I say? She's the Queen of the Skies!!! Great vid pal! :)
Dantorp, you're the best
That's just awesome, crystal clear...this must be your best video and I had a real treat...congrats...

Absolutely fantastic!! I felt i was there experiencing the firm landing THAN YOU
Amazing video
Love the bumpy ride. Great video Dan
Pretty AWESOME! Loved the sunset view!

BEAUTIFUL!
Zajebiste widoki z góry, a ziemia taka piękna jak na mapie, zazdroszczę wrażeń 👍👍👍😍

Beautiful red, orange, yellow sunset....didn't notice the descent as being especially turbulent though.
You are awesome! I like all of your videos!! :) keep up the awesome videos.
Wilco 737 must be at the controls. Awesome vid

that was a beautiful sunset ! awersome vid BTW looking forward to more from you !
NICE JOB.................
Beautiful approach! Very nice vid! :)
Very Nice Indeed! :)
1:28 amazing Sunset
It's a 747, bro. You can land that thing up side down and it will still feel like a smooth landing.
Great!
Very nice!
I've heard Lufthansa Airlines is one of the safest airline to fly. I've never flown on this airline.
It was not Turbulent until Autopilot was turned off at 23:37 and the Jägermeister took over. Fix the sound as modern video recorders cancel the background rumble noise where as the old cameras amplify the background noise.
Extreme corrections before landing. Unusual(?)
Not at all. Search here for "Canarsie Approach".
Understood now! Thanks for the pointer.
To add, this is a visual approach to avoid infterfering with LaGuardia (NY) airport traffic. The final line-up is just 1 mile out.
Excelent drantrop
Dantorp11 Aviation greetings from argentina!!! You are TVE best!!!
I see what you mean, the landing wasn't turbulent until just before the touch down. could this have been cross winds?
Hi Dan,
I enjoy all your videos and appreciate your work. When I see your name, I know it's going to be great watching it.
Thanks
Most excellent :) I just subscribed your channel :) ROCK ON!!!!!!
This video gets amazing at around 19:00 or so...
Very good. Anyone notice the plane flying overhead (17.30) - reflected in wing.
You know you’re a nerd when you literally put the STAR in the video title
Cool
That Touchdown Though... 24:09
Hey Dantorp awesome, awesome videos of aircraft taking off and landing!!!! I really, really

I love your videos, thank you for posting these. You must do a lot of flying. Are these videos all your business trips? What's your favourite plane type? A380?
Also, switch to the selfie cam once or twice per half hour but don't move the camera. Leave it stuck to the window, a CLEAN one!
Nice! video
Love your videos! What do you do for a living that you get to travel so much?
nice video... i wonder if it was windy on the landing..looks like the pilot was crabbing the plane..hence the extra firmness on touchdown!..lol
Nice Video!
Great pilot skills. So what was all those maneuvers all about? They were literally there till the last second before touch down ! Maybe the turbulent was pushing the plane to left and right?
Thanks for sharing
That is a seriously 'corrective' approach!
Looks like it took you guys longer to taxi to the gate then the entire approach. Haha
That flappy bit on the wing that keeps flapping about is that being controlled or is that just loose and flaps about on its own
I love your videos, I think I have seen pretty much all of them. But, you say you travel to visit family and friends, but do you have so many, you've made hundreds of videos. Keep it up, though, because they are very interesting. Also, I have always wondered where you're from and where you live. Thanks for the hours of entertainment.
That was an amazing video! I have a question. Do you use automatic or manual settings on your camcorder? Thanks!
Dantorp11 Aviation I love your travel videos :), Caribbean Greetings !!!!!
Nice video indeed. Is it me or the pilots do a turn on very short final?
good video , thank u , haider a khan
Pretty hard landing huh
Hey are you ever worried something is about to go wrong? I am flying to Australia from Sweden next week and I am very nervous...
Nevermind, first!
why so many british airways when touchdown?
Thats probably their terminal.
Gabriel Cox But British Airways does only have a Terminal at Heathrow? (T5)
BA actually have a terminal at JFK
www.britishairways.com/en-gb/information/airport-information/new-york-jfk
niceeeeeeeeeeeee
Mr Smith Thats a nice way to describe people.
I was on the flight at 10:35 o'clock, on the same day. Uploading it just now on my other channel.lol

Li Ching Oen Can you write in English?
sunking2001 I can write in Engrish if you want. He is saying he wants to kill C B.
I love you
How I miss the 747.
..why is the approach curved like this? is it like this all the time for 13l? wot about 13r if there is such a runway?

29:58 nightmare horror child ...
What is that flap in the middle of the wing call the small one?
Inboard aileron
What's a canarsie approach?
Its a curved often tedious approach into JFK that flies over a neighborhood in Brooklyn called Canarsie.
Ohhh.....thanks!
I'm surprised N.Y. doesn't charge an air toll tax just to land in that state.
why did you pick the seat above the wings?
+Cesar Rodriguez --I think he would have preferred to be one or two rows further back rather than being right on top of the wing - but most of these videos will include the leading or trailing edge of the wing in frame throughout. 16:15= flaps extending
Quite the landing. By the way... I uploaded my newest video last night and I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by it.
Normally 747 flaps don't make any sound
