I played the first mechanika game which was a solid point and click adventure with a dark story but I really enjoyed it. Looks like the developers tried something new and I have to say, looks pretty awesome! I will def get it!
I am really curious to go back and check out more from this talented developer.
@@IDreamofIndie You totally should! I think there are 2 in the series but I’m not sure. Very weird and dark but that’s the kind of stuff I like...lol.
Thanks for the review!
Happy to help!
Do the abilities carry over in hard mode if you switch to hard mode ?like new game plus or just starting back to the beginning
Looks cool. I hope it has a physical copy for Switch.
That would be cool! Likely depends on how well it does digitally
Physical copy incoming! Along with collector’s edition.
I just purchased the physical copy, looking forward to it arriving :)
this looks right up my alley. i will definitely be keeping an eye out in january. i wouldnt expect it would need any compromises but you never know with games being brought over to switch.
one thing that seems to regularly disappoint me and has kept me from buying a number of games i was otherwise interested in is the lack of online multiplayer. i wish there was an indie publisher that funneled some resources towards some online infrastructure to encourage indie devs to support it. obviously its not really feasible for a developer to make the outlays to support online multiplayer and since nintendo clearly doesn't care to either that imo leaves a real market opportunity for a smaller publisher. one can hope.
Given the times online play could be viewed as more important than ever. That said, I gotta imagine it's not easy for indie devs to pull off who are already on a tight budget.
No issues on Nintendo Switch, don't worry! ;)
@@IDreamofIndie That's it. We weren't able to add online multiplayer to Colossus Down because of the time (sometimes a.k.a. budget xD) it required. Also, seeing the first (somehow poor) results with titles like Streets of Rage 4 or Castle Crashers when they came out, it made us focus on a great single and local coop experience.
However, on Steam you can play Colossus Down online coop mode thanks to Remote Play Together. It's a nice option that is helping a lot of studios like ours. Hopefully other platforms are adding a similar option in the near future!
I hate online multiplayer. Too many modern games focus on it and you have people in the industry that want to abolish single player games in favor of it. Plus, it's a nightmare for trophy hunters when a game's servers are dead or the community moves on and you are left with unattainable online trophies. I'd be more than happy to see multiplayer gaming die and go away forever.
Yea I agree with the Nintendo online comment I wish they would just add a online multiplayer style that is definitely not so convoluted with friend codes and such stop trying to be different here of all places and just add a ps4 or Xbox style pleeeeaaaaasssssseeeee Nintendo
You know, Colossus down sounds way to similar to another game that I play... I think it was called Titan dive. NO Titan Fall
Interesting comparison that never actually dawned on me lol
