From what I've seen of colleges/ universities these days, if I was in a position to hire I would take any resumes that included a college degree and throw them right into the garbage. The Palestnians were pushed out of their homes back in 1947 by the U.N. to make room for the newly created nation of Israel. So their anger is understandable. People are free to disagree with the students who say that Israeli policy in Gaza is solely responsible for the current violence. But I'm concerned about people who are accusing the students of supporting the killing of children for example. I didn't read anything in the students' statement that specifically supported such a thing. And the law firms who rescinded job offers to some signatories on the grounds that "they don't share our values." Isn't that the sort of statement a university makes when dismissing or suspending a professor or banning a speaker whose opinions they disagree with?

This is one of the main reasons why a lot of parents now DO NOT want to send their kids to college or university after high school. They are worried about all of this indoctrination that's happening on these campuses. It's horribly frightening. I'm a math teacher at a two-year college north of Chicago, and this is one of the reasons why I'm taking an early retirement. Totally sick and tired of all this nonsense that college administrators are dumping onto students and faculty. It's just sad. If these students are really that concerned about Middle Eastern cultures, why don't they take courses in Arabic or ancient Egyptian history or learn to read ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics?
