  • I recently had a Makita battery go bad on me (won't charge). In this video I show a full refurbishment of a the battery that had failed. I show the tear down and rebuild with replacement control PCB and new cells.
The following links are NOT affilate links - I have not received any kickback for providing them!

Great work! I've got a few 4Ah's and one old BL1815N - I find the small one really nice to use on the impact driver, drills, sander and hedge trimmer as it's so nice and light... I'm really surprised Makita don't yet make a 3Ah in this size (using 5 cells rather than 10)

What was the tool that you used to fix the nickel strip to the batteries?

Hi, would it be not better to put a charging board with balancing funktion in it.

A BMS would be better but these packs never included them. Also the very high charge/discharge rates it make it difficult to balance. Thanks for watching the video and commenting.
