  • WHY RADIATOR FAN IS NOT WORKING ON BMW E90 E91 E92 E93. CAR OVERHEATS
If the radiator fan is not working on your BMW e91, e90, e92, e93 we will explain a few common reasons that can cause your radiator fan not work and cause your car to overheat. The radiator fan is very important for the normal operation of the engine. If the radiator fan does not work your BMW will overheat at one point. We demonstrated what can cause the radiator fan not to work on 2006 BMW 325i but it should cover the whole generation BMW E90 E91 E92 E93.

    MY REPAIR WAS FREE!
2006 BMW 330xi fan not coming on and caused overheating. Tried and tested everything in this video and still no fan. My solution: Multimeter test ground and power from thermo switch to fan plug. voltage to fan was good as was the ground. A third wire, REFERENCE WIRE, had no voltage, the reference wire has to put out around 4-5 V. My reference wire had rusted in the harness and caused a short(harness is located along the right side under the radiator shroud). After inspecting the harness, I came across a discolored spot and decided to slit the wire to see any damage, sure enough, the wire was hanging by a strand of wire. I spliced the wire, soldered the connection again and Voila! Fan is alive!!!!! Maybe you'll get lucky and this is your cause.

I have a 2007 BMW E90 built in August 2007. The sending unit is just below the oil filter on the head. It does not have a sending unit on the lower radiator hose. My fan is acting up. Sometimes it comes on with the air conditioner. Sometimes it doesn't. If I unplug it from the sending unit sometimes it'll come on on high. Sometimes it only comes on when I plug it back in and only runs for a minute or two and shuts back off. Can you tell me what's happening here? And is there a relay for this car for the fan?

This is not an e90 335i. Every google and youtube search I do for 335i or N54 lands me on results of you guys working on anything BUT a 335i with an N54. I'm glad you're building up a following on youtube but that seems to drive search results to your videos, and you're doing it by spamming keywords in the description as is often done on craiglist.

Thanks a bunch for your videos. You guys are fantastic. I have a question regarding the cooling. Hope you'll see my comment. I have a 2007 BMW 328i sedan. The fan won't engange. I've tested the wires, coolant temp sensor, thermostat, water pump and fuses. Replaced Thermostat with OEM, Coolant Temp Sensor, and Bled the system. The Fan will not engage even when the temp rises all the way to 220 deg Farenheit (104 c). So, I thought maybe the fan is bad. Side note. My Beemer has a temp sensor at the radiator outlet hose but there's no connector to it. I've looked everywhere following the harness down to the inside of the cabin and no Connector. Anyway, I bought a new coolant temp sensor (the one mounted at the engine). And the way I tested the fan is as follows. When the engine is running, if I disconnect the Coolant temp sensor connector. The fan automatically kicks on. That's what's supposed to do, I'm told. But I wanted to make sure the fan is in good working condition by connecting the old temp sensor outside of the car (The new sensor installed in the car so the coolant wouldn't leak), then I started the engine. I applied heat to the old sensor with a heat gun and while measuring the resistance as the sensor started getting hot, the fan kicked on when the sensor got to around 208 degrees f (98 c). That proved the old sensor was working properly and once it's hot, it commands the fan to engage. Problem is, once the sensor is installed in the engine and temp gets real hot, the fan won't come on at all. Sorry for the long message, any help will be greatly appreciated. I'm at a lost here.

@@OmarGUSMC Sure did. After checking everything I mentioned and bleeding the system. Making sure there were no leaks. I decided to take it for a ride. I connected my Maxisys Scanner to see live data. 15 mins after driving the car. The temp went up to 228 deg F. Then all of the sudden, the Fan kicked on. I suppose the coolant needed to recirculate long enough to get the Temp Sensor to detect the right temperature. 👍
