I think it might depend on how much fuel is actually in the tank prior to the tequila.... A good test would be driving it until it's empty... Putting a gallon of fuel in and seeing how many miles it does until it cuts out... Then try again with liquor and see if there is a difference... At least you then know it's actually running on liquor and not the mixture of leftover fuel and liquor.... Great video as always!!

My guess is when the engine is hot enough, most of the water content gets boiled off before it even hit the spark. Then you're mostly left with ethanol which mixes with the gas and can be adjusted for

Can’t get above 191 proof without sieves or a lab. Impossible. It’s a hard limit but yea those old rangers were tough. I had one when I was young and stopped putting oil in it for about 6 months and drove 30 minutes each way to work on the highway. It finally died but I was curious. Can’t kill them.

Always make sure to only use "Silver" Tequila and NOT the "Gold" variety of Tequila. Gold Tequila has a caramel like ingredient added, which gives the Tequila it's gold/amber color and is sure to clog/gum up your fuel pump & injectors. 🍹You're Welcome.

You mentioned twice that the tequila is 100 proof, but 40% only makes it 80 proof, which is even more impressive to me. Only could've been better with some salt and lime on the fuel filler and some mariachi music playing on the radio. 😂🎺🎶

I guess this works since alcohol is a hydrocarbon and since combustion works based on hydrocarbons (or other types of fuel but usually hydrocarbons) and oxygen molecules reacting to release energy. So in simpler terms instead of the hydrocarbon being gasoline it was replaced with less efficient (in terms of energy stored) alcohol

I tell you.. old cars are indestructable! I own a mazda 121 metro (demio) and there was sugar in the gas tank when i bought it. Didn't knew it ofcourse.. i figured it out 2 weeks later when the gas pump shuts off every 50 cents because it was all clogged up with sugar.. it's now 2 years later and i can fill the tank without a problem and it runs like a dream! It only took 2 fuel filters and that's it! Gotta love older cars!

The alcohol content is probably just high enough to be able to burn inside the combustion chamber and with port injection engines, the don julio probably washes off the back of the valves pretty well… I would love to stick a boroscope down the cylinder and see the top of the pistons and see how much carbon is being cleaned off running either tequila or vodka like your previous video, my best guess is that the alcohol is doing a good job at burning at a reasonable octane level as well as acting as a detergent inside the engine

I am guessing it’s the ethanol content in the hard alcohol that allows the vehicle to run just fine but I am no scientist. Next time try moonshine or everclear type alcohol, that has an even higher alcohol by volume & proof I’d think it would also work.

This is awesome. I love these videos Mike, keep doing what you're doing. I would suggest window cleaner since I heard that some of them contain methanol. Or maybe Listerene which is supposedly the most alcoholic laden mouthwash there is, despite them saying it isn't.

the reason it works is because alcohol contains ethanol. the same chemical used in gasoline to make the sparks to run the car forward without hickups

You should definitely see what happens if you put something really acidic in the tank. I think it could be really interesting.
It’s the ethanol in the alcohol. Good example is the movie Back to the Future Part III when Marty and Doc are stuck in 1885, they try using whiskey to replace to the gas. The stuff is too strong though so they blow the fuel injector off, but can still work if done right.
