I've found those a couple times here in South MS. Right now I'm seeing what people call a Dirty southern wax cap, but I don't know anybody who ever are one.

Wait check Hygrophorus Russula? Waxy and pink and white…:usually very dirty because it’s sticky.

I tried some bĺewits they have a bit of a twang to them, is there some way to cook them that masks that?

My fav use has been cut small and pan fried, then added to stuffing or a rice baked dish
