No one is mentioning how 1:47 “because it is there” is an actual quote from George Mallory, a British mountaineer when he was asked why he wanted to climb Everest. He attempted to be the first non-native of the area to climb it. He later died on the mountain, and no one knows whether he got to the top or not, or if he got to the top and died on the way down
Might also be a quote from Star Trek V, depending on how Ryan likes to get his entertainment from.

yes if u remove the ink it will be disfigured but only if you did it violently. the fact that we can remove tattoos without leaving a scar is proof of this.
second of all that shows that originally (right after the ink was put in) there is no scar. there would only be a scar after the ink was "removed."
if it helps perhaps my analogy would be better if the ink was stitching? and it was one of those art pieces?
@Aiden Hafer You're pushing pigment (like used in paint) Commonly Carbon for black under the skin, scaring is bad as it will mess with the image. essentially, you're just making art or a painting under the protection of the outer or dead layer of skin. It does not go away as your body does not react with it and your skin protects it from outside elements/washing away.

This is so funny to me because i'm in a community that likes to climb mountains, and we basically have this conversation everytime we're climbing. It basically goes like this :
"So why are we climbing mountain if we just gonna go back down, again?"

As a person who is kind of obsessed with mountains, this is somehow even more funny to me. Because he honestly makes excellent points! It’s stupid, it’s dangerous, there is absolutely no logical reason to actually do it. BUT IT’S THERE.

I was wondering where I heard those words before and o yeah the grim realization occurred. All evidence seems to confirm they did not make it to summit, but with the set up they had at the time it's an impressive they made it as far as they did.
The mountain in the back is actually the "Matterhorn" in Switzerland. First guy to ever reach the top was a british dude called Edward Whymper. That guy definitely wasn't a whimp, he did it back in June 1865.
