      Surely someone will fuck up his knees in the long run. If you do this even just 3x as part of your leg workout, in the span of 3 years you will fuck up your knees.

    • @spanishlarc31
      @spanishlarc31 2 роки тому

      @@joshforeman1723 it requires developing leg strength also. But yes my knees are fucked up. But I can run jump and kick, somehow movement un-fucks them also.

    • @joshforeman1723
      @joshforeman1723 2 роки тому

      @@spanishlarc31 It doesnt matter the leg strenght perse, i mean u can squats 250 Kg and still u will fuck your knees is not just the weight is the kind of movement that happens in the knee that doesnt happend with a squat. So even if you have really strong legs in the long run someone will fuck up his knees really bad. To the point that know u will not be able to squat the 300 kg, 250 kg because of the knee problems. So this movement is not benefitial, is just self destructive.

    • @Wavemaninawe
      @Wavemaninawe 3 роки тому +1

      Tendons need longer time to adapt to increased work load than the belly of a muscle. Ligaments even more so.
      You would likely need to start with more forgiving exercises like conventional squats, running up stairs, box jumps etc. as a gradual build up to this.
      Alternatively the way I did: crouched walking (fully flexed knees) and frog leaps.
      I suffered a torn meniscus as well (from getting my knee twisted in an excessive angle), but i can still do bunny hops today. Something i attribute to being patient and doing a very cautious, gradual escalation of training after the injury.
      Of course it wont be the same situation for everybody, and some wont be able to perform an exercise like this after knee damage.
      But i still believe that anything that involves explosive movement and heavy load on the joints needs to be done with a gradual advance over time.
      Look at turn-over pull ups for example.
