@unyu-cyberstorm64 Composite Sine Mode is currently only implemented for OPN2 in Furnace, but it's available on OPN, OPNA, OPNB, OPNB2, OPN2, OPM, OPP, OPL, and OPL2 according to datasheets. Someone detailed how to use it.
Excellent stuff! Nice to see the smooth ssg-eg triangle in action 😁 I've actually seen and used that volume control trick before! I even used it in my Wet Hands cover for AY8930, where I combined that trick with the pulse widths to get a bunch of volume levels. It's really cool that you were able to find that on your own! I stumbled across it elsewhere, I forget where tho Nice FM guitar, btw :)
Thank you! I think I remember stumbling across that video a whiiile back? Certainly before I was active in the Furnace server :P It might have only been a couple seconds and I didn't read the description. Oops :P That's really cool how you can control AY8930 envelope volume with literal PWM though ^^ I also would've used the SSG-EG triangle in slightly more interesting ways in the song but- I'm lazy and didn't wanna deal with that, ESPECIALLY after I realized that ymfm (that I temporarily *had* to use as the playback core) doesn't emulate SSG-EG exactly right, and certain ADSR settings (and/or cases where using a sustain macro for vibrato causes problems) that should be unstable *are* stable with ymfm. So that was fun. Getting insane pitch resolution on the AY envelope due to setting the divider to its lowest setting is good enough for me :P And thanks ^^ There's definitely better ones out there, but it does the job and doesn't make your ears bleed, so pretty good for a first try :P
@@ttwtunesYou're welcome! That's ok! It was a pretty long time ago Yeah, unfortuanately, you need the heavier emulation core for proper ssg-eg things. Those unstable ADSR settings can be surprising useful tho! I really need to look into how those divider settings work. Do you know if those are configurable in software, or is that a hardware thing?
Thank you ^^ I'm fr so proud of how I used the AY envelope here :D The half-volume trick makes it work so well as support :] The envelope resolution you get with the smallest divider setting is truly impressive-
I can't believe that this is coming from an OPN1. You also may want to see what using Composite Sine Mode on Ch3 does.
explain how to do this?

To say this banger gives off fall guys legacy season 4 vibes would be an understatement

@@SpinningSquareWaves The divider settings are indeed configurable in software, I looked through the datasheet a while back to confirm this :]
@@ttwtunesOh, cool! I'll definitely have to try it out then 😁
Aside from the average sounding fm guitar, this is peak sound design
Ooooo nice! I like it!
Cool tune, dude
Wow, this's insanely ambitious! Well done!
Bros too good
Nice OPN tune!😄🤩😎👌
Nice tricks! Reminds me my OPL3 trick with faaast ADSR restarts (Key-on/off) which results in waveform restart - thus giving Hard-Sync effect :)
oooh cool ^^
Look at you go! Fantastic work, Tomato! I'm always a fan of electric guitar playing along a squarewave or similar. Such a great sound.
Thank you, thank you so much :D
operators go brrrr
like how you used the square noise on psg3, and used the envelope as a sorta support melody
2:15 is my fav

Nice! 🎧
YM2203? Isn't YM2608?
