      @@robn2497 totally man. I was under canopy and a newbie went past me in free fall, as he pitched his pilot chute, and his pilot chute hit my left knee, and I landed. At first enraged, but by time I was at the ground I just hugged him and asked if he understood the gravity of what just happened, offered him coaching and went home . The next day, man ... I wasn't feeling so good I'm my mind trying to figure out who was at fault , why it all happened. After thinking about it, talking to many of my friends, come to figure out it was the load organizers fault, I argued with him not to put a solo freely with 50 jumps out last behind us when the uppers literally had the plane flying 10 knots across the fukn ground. When my Stiletto 120 opened, it was a little northeast, jump run was north, and no matter how many times I tried explaining to this guy in the plane ,"GIVE US TONS OF TIME, MORE THAN 45 DEGREES FROM THE PLANE, I showed him with heads out the door etc, he didn't give enough, apparently back slide toward us and caused a very near death experience. It messed with my head until Tuesday when we were flying again.

      I once screwed up a swoop badly. People came running over to see if I was still alive and I immediately jumped up and walked off like it was no issue. People who witnessed it were amazed at how I was seemingly impervious to pain. Those same amazed people didn't see me gasping for breath in the toilets and struggling to function for the next couple of weeks with full body bruising. I got a bit more conservative after that :)

    • @jamesmorrison1308
      @jamesmorrison1308 4 роки тому +2

      Basically his AAD went off after his primary canopy was released (so he was flying with two canopies). This may have been a result of him waiting too long to pull. It looks like this was the case even while he was still stable (at the beginning of the video). However, when he turned left, his canopies started downplaining, so he had no lift. If he had kept going straight, he could’ve landed safely with both canopies.

    • @benwearne542

      He was swooping. He has a very small canopy and hes very experienced at flying towards the ground very fast and skimming across the ground at high speeds before coming to a running stop. His AAD went off cause it though he was in freefall and deployed his reserve. He cant steer with both out. He almost broke both his legs he needs to reprogram his AAD before swooping

      He had an AAD fire after his last 180 looks like ... His AAD probably didn't have a swoop mode.

      Aad reserves fire based off rate descent. Had his settings set wrong and his aad fired last minute pulling him into the tent. He otherwise would've swooped into the field.

    I don't think this man realized the severity of the situation he was in... he's literally a few hundred feet from the ground and has no parachute deployed yet... is he not worried about his imminent death in about 3 seconds? By some miracle he's saved and just whistles hahaha. Props to him I'm just confused by how unstressed he is.

    • @vzxdarkangel1999ful
      @vzxdarkangel1999ful 3 роки тому +2

      He did have a parachute deployed, however it's a small parachute for high speed landings. He was doing fine and getting ready for landing, only Issue was he didn't select the right AAD setting for this kind of activity (security system that deploys the reserve parachute automatically if you are rushing too fast to the ground), which caused it to fire just above the ground, and mess with his already opened parachute.

    Obviously should be back on clear & pulls, if not static line. His and the others attitudes make one believe their privileges, at least at that drop zone, should be revoked.

    Lucky mother **. My second skydiving trip went wrong and the chute tangled. I kept my cool but my instructor was panicking. Kicked left for 2 minutes where I could have been enjoying the scenery. Chute opened 30 seconds before impact and I felt like my trip on the way down was wasted kicking... took a minute or two to sink in that we almost died.
