- Tilly the goat is FINALLY getting her cast removed, after 8 weeks of hobblin' around the farm.
Hi there! 👋🏻 We live on a 1-acre farm right in the middle of the busy city of Phoenix, Arizona! Our names are Kevin & DaNelle, and we moved here in 2009, when our kids Ethan & Lydia were just 6 & 4 years old 🥰 Over the years we've raised goats for milk, chickens for eggs, built a fish/swim pond, planted fruit & nut trees, and grew a large garden full of veggies. We've also raised a bunch of other animals like pigs, sheep, turkeys, geese, peacocks, and more!
Now that our kids are away at college, we have settled into doing what we love most -- which is raising & breeding goats ethically to improve genetics. But don't worry, we'll forever love our goofy pet goats like Luna the herd queen & Willow the stump lover. We also still love raising chickens for eggs, gardening, tending to the fruit & nut trees, and growing fish in the pond. We use the fresh goat's milk to make cheese, butter, yogurt -- and we use that + everything else we harvest on our little farm to make delicious meals. Having a getaway from the busy world right in our backyard brings so much joy to us each day, and we hope it brings some to you, too. 🥰

NC here and so jealous of your artichokes! I love them but never had a fresh one. I am sure the flavor is comparable to store bought tomatoes against homegrown! The pond seems to be clearing up. Life is good!!!

Great reusable idea using those bags to cover the fruit. I hope I remember this after I finally got the area ready for fruit trees. Yay for Tilly. Here in California we are finally enjoying spring like weather this week. We were bouncing back and forth between 50's and high 80s. 4 or 5 days in the low to mis 70s now. Tomorrow maybe upper 70s then low 80s. So nice.

When our plum tree gets fruit we get sooo much so the birds can have as much as they want! Especially the ones up top that we can't reach.

Creeping figs are a nasty plant here in Florida, especially if it is not contained. Jasmine or a native recommended by your extension office would be another great vine.

I absolutely love your family. You are an amazing mom and your children are so awesome. Your farm is extremely motivating. I've owned chickens and ducks and plan to get goats and chickens very soon. I learned a lot of real life tools from your videos. My youngest daughter is going to be in heaven when we finally get goats. Willow is the cutest little lady. You have gained a new subscriber. We had the same problem with peaches but we found caterpillar like bugs in our peaches. We used plastic bags with holes in them.

Ohhhh your vet is one handsome man oh gurl done had me a heatstroke just lookin at him ;) lol besides that YAY TILLLLLLY so happy her cast is off also next time your planting or changing soil my grandfather is a master gardener down in texas and his sweet soil recipe is vermalite, peetmoss and topsoil its awsome for growing :)

Oh man, you grow artichokes? I am so jealous. I love artichokes but I live too far north so I have to get them from the store. I've considered maybe trying to start them in a greenhouse or something and then planting them as an annual, but I don't know how well that would work. I've heard some people do it but it sounds like probably too much effort.
