I bought the same saw for the same reason. I got the Dewalt Miter saw stand with wheels (DWX726) for my miter saw. With them both easy and mobile I can work outside on nice days. I put my bench top on two saw horses. Shos set up and tear down about 5 minutes tops. My car is inside every night Great video. Thanks
It sounds like we have a similar workshop setup. I rarely feel like I NEED a bigger shop even though it can be cramped at times. I think it's fun to try to find creative solutions to the lack of space.

I really don’t feel limited by space more freed because since I have to put everything away each time I leave the shop there is less clutter… except the ever growing cut offs I can use later pile. lol
I've watched a ton of these setup and retrospective videos on this saw, and maybe I missed it but I have yet to see anyone mention about the depth of the saw shifting due to that bolt being loose, so I really appreciate that tip. I would have never even though of it, and I'm sure it would have been slipping depth slowly without me noticing for a while.
You hit the nail on the head with the pros and cons. I have the same saw and would buy it again. Best saw out there in my opinion that is mobile and a space saver. I enjoyed mullet man as well. 👍🏼
I have the same saw and made a modified version of your outfeed table design. I routed miter clearance slots into the outfeed table so I can leave it up while using the cross cut sled.

I have an earlier version of that saw and I love it. It is my first saw. I have made over a dozen jigs for it and they really help me with accuracy and safety. The deciding factor that sent me to this saw is the R&P fence movement. Very adjustable and very accurate.
I have had that saw for @ 5 years and really like it. Bought it primarily because I needed to get both cars in the garage so folding it up was key. If I didn’t have that requirement I would have bought the Delta saw for about the same price.

Just got one of these. For me I’m coming from a 20 year old craftsmen job site saw. Safety features on the craftsmen are nonexistent. No riving knife and the blade guard failed years ago. Fence system was limited to 12 inch cuts and required a lot of fiddling to get it square. Mitre cuts really required a sled and it had a non-standard throat plate so 0 clearance inserts were basically impossible. The dewalt massively improves on all of that. Plus it’s still small enough to fit in my garage when both cars are parked.
I just bought this saw to upgrade from the dw745. I'm a contractor and this has all the power I need. However not a fan of the included stand. So I use the old one which was dewalts universal table saw stan it is more heavy duty in my opinion. Great video thanks for the review

By "bed" I am guessing you refer to the table top. It's cast aluminum. Not plastic. It's classified as a job site saw and it's not 100% flat. But if you use a table saw sled, it will be moot point.

Hello. Can i run a 10 inch table saw in an outlet in my garage?? I’m not a carpenter but i bought a table saw just to do some minor works at my home built a shoe cabinet for my son. So i was wondering if i can using the garage outlet to run a dewalt 10 inch table saw??? It’s 15 Amp 120 volts saw don’t know if that info is helpful. Also does a table saw use so much electricity and expect an expansive monthly bill? Please! Thank you.
Yes, you can run it on a normal outlet but try not to run anything else big on that same circuit when using the saw. I used to do that but when my air compressor would kick on it would trip the breaker. I also had occasional issues when cutting long cuts in hardwood. Your electricity bill will go up a bit but it no more than it you were doing it all with a circular saw. Also, here is a video I made on adding a 20 amp circuit to your garage if your interested. I've been using rhe first gen for about 18 years now, great saw but the ripping capabilities are limited, I just upgraded to this model, I'm still getting use to. I rip a lot of 4x8s alobe with no problems. you only need a pair of adjustable saw horses and a sheet of plywood for your out feeeder and the rest it's easy.
It's cool to hear you stuck with the brand after that much use. So far, I'm still very happy. I like your tip to temporarily increase the table size. I'll give that a try!
You can get cheap roller stands from harbor freight. They work pretty well as an out feed table. You can get three of them for about $60 total. One in front, one in back, and one to the side you can rip any size sheet by yourself.
Yes, I think it's a good saw for woodworking. It's not as good as a nice cabinet saw. But if you're short on space, like I am, It's a good choice. I've had this saw for about a year and learned some really useful adjustment info from your video. Thank you! When you mentioned the sidekick I thought Oh no. It wasn't bad though. I wouldn't want that in all your videos, but don't listen to the naysayers. You definitely looked like you had a good time with it and it's not like it was a huge distraction from your well edited video.
Haha, thanks. I plan to continue with various side kicks from time to time. I know people are saying they don't like "The Mullet Maker", but this video also seems to have a ;much higher than usual retention rate. :) Maybe it's like driving past a car crash an its horrible but you just can't look away.

I bought and returned this saw three times, and it's because of one issue: I just can't get the fence square to the table. It's easy enough to adjust the fence so it's square to the miter slot, but if I put a square up against the fence, the upper portion of the fence is closer to the blade than the lower portion is. There is absolutely no way to adjust the fence for this issue, and it seems every model I buy has this problem. It was a huge PITA. I had to haul this massive, heavy box home, pull out all the materials, and start setting up the saw only to discover the fence is permanently messed up. This required me to repack everything and take the heavy box back to the store. What kills me is everyone states it's the best job site table saw out there.
That's really good insight. Honestly, I haven't checked for square in that direction, but I will. One work around would be to make a new fence that sits on top of the old one that offers small adjustment to fix this. This would also allow you to have a sacrificial fence and then extend the height. Thanks for your comment!
On the backside of the saw - under the table is 2 bolts that you can loosen up an "shift" motor housing a wee bit left or right , That will Square up your blade . On the Fence you can loosen those Allen head bolts an shift the fence left or right . My Blade was off by roughly .010 thousandths using a caliper. Adjusting the blade square & then adj fence & miter slots Took less than 10 minutes 👍
I liked your video. I've watched quite a few and no one has shown the width capacity for cuts to the left of the blade. I have a particular cut that I regularly make requiring me to cut on the left of the blade, thanks for the great video
Im not positive, but I did read this on another sight. I would suggest spending some time in the manual. "According to the manual, the maximum dado width is 13/16″ and a maximum blade diameter of 8″. They also offer a dado throat plate."

I have the same saw. 32.5" is no long a limit for me. I can square up a 24"x48" plywood easily. I made a support that goes onto the screw where the fence latches onto. Also made a tapering jig that doubles as cross cut sled with a fence (I use 1" x 2" 80/20) dialed in to .0013" error per 10 inches cut length. Clamp the 2ft x 4ft onto the jig and let it rip. Just make the support same height as the sled and you are good to go. I had 2 more problem with this saw you didn't cover. 1) the screw holding the blade came loose twice on me. 2) the lever that locks the bevel came loose once while I was using a zero-clearance sled. Yeah, kiss that zero clearance good bye. Totally ruin the sled. 3) the height still creeps a little even tho I tighten (without over tighten) the screw. I had to triple check those 3 things every time especially when I do non-thru cut. Overall, I was very impressed with the cut quality despite the short coming. Just have to pay little extra attention before using the saw.
I have had mine for about 6 years. My only real gripe is that the top is not that flat. Others saws of the same style only cut 24" wide. The mitre saw is a POS indeed. The rack-n-pinion drive for the fence is great. Easy to make that small adjustments very easily.

IM TRYING TO GET BUSY AND TRY IMPROVE HEALTH.
For the money this is a great saw . On my saw while the table isn't dead flat the couple of low spots roughly the size of your thumb nail are no more than the thickness of 2 sheets of notebook paper so I guess I lucked out 🤷♂️ . Once I got everything dialed in it cuts pretty dang accurate, plus with it being able to fold & stow is a awesome feature. While I may not use it everyday , when I do go to use it I'm only limited by my ability to do so . An yes that Miter gauge is J-U-N-K , the first few times I ended up putting several layers of painters tape along the edge of the miter gauge to take up that awful side to side Slop . I'm guessing they threw that thing in there to hold down the price of the saw .
Very informative video with the exception that it didn't address some of the complaints in other reviews (loose or wobbly arbor, table less than dead flat, fence not parallel to the blade, motor mount that loosens, etc.) Bottom line. This video maked me want to buy this saw but other videos or reviews are staring me off.
i have an issue with this saw that the blade/riving knife shake for a brief moment on startup. Enough so that if i saw the saw with the blade up through a ZCI or crosscut sled that it causes tearout on the sides and has widened parts of my sled by 1/32 wider than the kerf. Anyone notice this? Once the saw is up to speed it cuts perfectly. The workaround of starting the saw and raising it while spinning seems cumbersome and not practical.
@@HowIDoThingsDIY its a great saw otherwise, its just made the kerfs on my ZCIs and crosscut sled a bit sloppy. I'm probably expecting too much from a jobsite saw

I like it. Much improved over the one the saw came with. I like being able to adjust out the miter slop and the fence is nice. Especially with the adjustable stop.
I bought the same saw a year ago to replace an old Makita job site table saw. That saw worked reliably in my shop for many years, but the inability to use a dado stack, and the less than 11” rip capacity were both annoying shortcomings! The DeWalt was definitely a major step up, and it has greatly expanded my capabilities and accuracy! I don’t have the finances for a Sawstop or other high end saw nor the room for it, and I would rank the DeWalt as my #1 most important and satisfying machine! Would definitely buy the same saw if I had it to do over!
i've had mine for three years and it has been great. Always use a thin kerf blade. and get the Dewalt dado stack set. if you had cut out all the Elvis crap it would be the same information and you would be taken more seriously (more subscribers more money). perhaps therapy is recommended.

I love that we can go to find instruction on any subject we might have an interest in. Woodworking is a good platform. Make the channel yours, but no need for gimmicks. Talent is what sells here. Honestly, I'm not sure what metal it is but it's definitely metal. It just has a paint or power coat on it.

I would have reservations on doing to much dado work or 2x cutting with this saw. Had a dw745 that didn't last 2 siding jobs and the motor gave out.

What size deablo do you use. Every 10” I’ve seen is 254 wouldn’t the hit the riding knife holder or do you use an 8”

It's cool to hear you stuck with the brand after that much use. So far, I'm still very happy. I like your tip to temporarily increase the table size. I'll give that a try!
You can get cheap roller stands from harbor freight. They work pretty well as an out feed table. You can get three of them for about $60 total. One in front, one in back, and one to the side you can rip any size sheet by yourself.

Yes, I think it's a good saw for woodworking. It's not as good as a nice cabinet saw. But if you're short on space, like I am, It's a good choice. I've had this saw for about a year and learned some really useful adjustment info from your video. Thank you! When you mentioned the sidekick I thought Oh no. It wasn't bad though. I wouldn't want that in all your videos, but don't listen to the naysayers. You definitely looked like you had a good time with it and it's not like it was a huge distraction from your well edited video.
Haha, thanks. I plan to continue with various side kicks from time to time. I know people are saying they don't like "The Mullet Maker", but this video also seems to have a ;much higher than usual retention rate. :) Maybe it's like driving past a car crash an its horrible but you just can't look away.

What do you use for an insert when the Dado set is being used? Do I have to use a sled?
I use the dewalt dado insert. But you could also use a sled or make a zero clearance insert. I show how to make one on another video on my channel.

I bought and returned this saw three times, and it's because of one issue: I just can't get the fence square to the table. It's easy enough to adjust the fence so it's square to the miter slot, but if I put a square up against the fence, the upper portion of the fence is closer to the blade than the lower portion is. There is absolutely no way to adjust the fence for this issue, and it seems every model I buy has this problem. It was a huge PITA. I had to haul this massive, heavy box home, pull out all the materials, and start setting up the saw only to discover the fence is permanently messed up. This required me to repack everything and take the heavy box back to the store. What kills me is everyone states it's the best job site table saw out there.
That's really good insight. Honestly, I haven't checked for square in that direction, but I will. One work around would be to make a new fence that sits on top of the old one that offers small adjustment to fix this. This would also allow you to have a sacrificial fence and then extend the height. Thanks for your comment!
On the backside of the saw - under the table is 2 bolts that you can loosen up an "shift" motor housing a wee bit left or right , That will Square up your blade .
On the Fence you can loosen those Allen head bolts an shift the fence left or right . My Blade was off by roughly .010 thousandths using a caliper. Adjusting the blade square & then adj fence & miter slots Took less than 10 minutes 👍

I used paste wax on it every, not and then. That may be the difference. It probably also depends on what type of wood you're cutting
I liked your video. I've watched quite a few and no one has shown the width capacity for cuts to the left of the blade. I have a particular cut that I regularly make requiring me to cut on the left of the blade, thanks for the great video

Im not positive, but I did read this on another sight. I would suggest spending some time in the manual. "According to the manual, the maximum dado width is 13/16″ and a maximum blade diameter of 8″. They also offer a dado throat plate."

I have the same saw. 32.5" is no long a limit for me. I can square up a 24"x48" plywood easily. I made a support that goes onto the screw where the fence latches onto. Also made a tapering jig that doubles as cross cut sled with a fence (I use 1" x 2" 80/20) dialed in to .0013" error per 10 inches cut length. Clamp the 2ft x 4ft onto the jig and let it rip. Just make the support same height as the sled and you are good to go.
I had 2 more problem with this saw you didn't cover.
1) the screw holding the blade came loose twice on me.
2) the lever that locks the bevel came loose once while I was using a zero-clearance sled. Yeah, kiss that zero clearance good bye. Totally ruin the sled.
3) the height still creeps a little even tho I tighten (without over tighten) the screw.
I had to triple check those 3 things every time especially when I do non-thru cut. Overall, I was very impressed with the cut quality despite the short coming. Just have to pay little extra attention before using the saw.

I have had mine for about 6 years. My only real gripe is that the top is not that flat. Others saws of the same style only cut 24" wide. The mitre saw is a POS indeed. The rack-n-pinion drive for the fence is great. Easy to make that small adjustments very easily.

For the money this is a great saw . On my saw while the table isn't dead flat the couple of low spots roughly the size of your thumb nail are no more than the thickness of 2 sheets of notebook paper so I guess I lucked out 🤷♂️ . Once I got everything dialed in it cuts pretty dang accurate, plus with it being able to fold & stow is a awesome feature. While I may not use it everyday , when I do go to use it I'm only limited by my ability to do so . An yes that Miter gauge is J-U-N-K , the first few times I ended up putting several layers of painters tape along the edge of the miter gauge to take up that awful side to side Slop . I'm guessing they threw that thing in there to hold down the price of the saw .

Very informative video with the exception that it didn't address some of the complaints in other reviews (loose or wobbly arbor, table less than dead flat, fence not parallel to the blade, motor mount that loosens, etc.) Bottom line. This video maked me want to buy this saw but other videos or reviews are staring me off.
Very good points. Maybe I should do a follow-up video covering all the know issues and talk about which ones can be fixed and how.

i have an issue with this saw that the blade/riving knife shake for a brief moment on startup. Enough so that if i saw the saw with the blade up through a ZCI or crosscut sled that it causes tearout on the sides and has widened parts of my sled by 1/32 wider than the kerf. Anyone notice this? Once the saw is up to speed it cuts perfectly. The workaround of starting the saw and raising it while spinning seems cumbersome and not practical.

The saw folded up is 48" x 28" x 28". I just measured. This is with the handle. It could be 40" x 24" x 28" without the handle.

I like it. Much improved over the one the saw came with. I like being able to adjust out the miter slop and the fence is nice. Especially with the adjustable stop.
I bought the same saw a year ago to replace an old Makita job site table saw. That saw worked reliably in my shop for many years, but the inability to use a dado stack, and the less than 11” rip capacity were both annoying shortcomings! The DeWalt was definitely a major step up, and it has greatly expanded my capabilities and accuracy! I don’t have the finances for a Sawstop or other high end saw nor the room for it, and I would rank the DeWalt as my #1 most important and satisfying machine! Would definitely buy the same saw if I had it to do over!

i've had mine for three years and it has been great. Always use a thin kerf blade. and get the Dewalt dado stack set. if you had cut out all the Elvis crap it would be the same information and you would be taken more seriously (more subscribers more money). perhaps therapy is recommended.
