Replacing beliefs , and making science your new god (little g) only encourages selective outrage, and hypocrisy. That is exactly what you see in almost everything, especially science, and as a logical person you should surely see that only two types of people exist now. Those with questions they can't answer, so they ask, or keep testing all things, and those with ONLY answers nobody is allowed to question. Science isn't much different than a religion, it would have one believe that a giant explosion of nothing created everything, and you evolved from goo, to the zoo, to you, which makes about as much sense as if science states a pop can rolls down a hill and becomes a vending machine at the bottom.

Jesus supposedly said "Whoever believes in me... will do great works I have been doing..." I was NOT believing in the bible for it's a 'childrens' bedtime stories, I was seeking truth. Truth of the afterlife. The Christian bible LIED & DECIEVED billions of ignorant believers and for what? FEAR and something to read at bed time? I'm NOT one of those... people!!! Excellent interview as I have come to expect from Jacob and the HV channel.
Dr Legh has touched on something at the beginning of this video which I find quite profound and equally disturbing. Christians follow a religion that seems to encourage them to pass the responsibility of their bad, unethical decisions off onto the mythical religious version of Jesus Christ as laid out in their religion.
I have mentioned this to my Christian friends and of course they deny this. But when the religion claims that all of your "sins" are forgiven if you follow specific steps and Jesus death pays the price for those "sins" clearly this is a problem because it encourages followers of that religion to live life in any poor manner that they choose due to the belief that their faith will be enough to atone for any poor decisions that they make.

@ObjectiveEthics @savoirfaire6181 the NT does very well teach this, but Jesus does not. That's why it's critical to wake the average Christians up to the fact they are following the false apostle Paul's corrupted version of Christianity where only faith is necessary, and not _real_ Christianity taught by Christ wherein obedience to God and inherent righteousness _are_ required for salvation.

    • @savoirfaire6181
      @savoirfaire6181 2 місяці тому +8

@@asphilosophyusa I agree that Jesus is more clear but I think that the evangelical view is a misunderstanding of Paul. He was mentally ill, no doubt, but he did teach obsessive obedience to Jesus rather than free grace. Paul taught we are to be slaves to Christ and he didn't assume that sanctification and justification are separated the way Protestants eventually did in misunderstanding him. He did not teach penal substitution or imputed righteousness but taught the same as Jesus that the cross was an example to follow. I don't believe in the Bible anymore but I did obsessively for 30 years and it was in taking it seriously that I grew out of it. Along my journey I deeply learned that evangelicals do not understand the Bible.
Anyway it doesn't matter. It's all a lie, both Paul and Jesus.

I'm not blaming the apologists - they are trapped in circular reasoning by their faith, and religious faith by its very nature is uncompromising. Thus apologists are incapable of really answering many questions because only a logical, secular approach offers anything even close to an actual objective truth. Great job by the host too! Most often the best thing a host can do is stay out of the way as much as possible and let the guest present their case.

What Dr. Allen is describing at about 5:00 as "the fundamentals of Christianity" is not the true Christianity taught by Christ and His apostles but rather the corrupt and bastardized version which I label "Pauline" Christianity, or simply Paulinism. Most Christians don't want to accept that the Gospels and the Pauline epistles teach two different and completely contradictory religions with diametrically opposing views of salvation. You have the Gospels (esp. the synoptics) on the one hand, and the Pauline epistles + Hebrews on the other. Most "Christians" follow the Pauline epistles and not real Christianity. So Dr. Allen is not really criticizing Christianity here, but a corrupted version of Christianity that has nothing to do with the teachings of Christ.

I look at scripture as the wisdom of those who came before me presented in figurative fashion. This means one must place oneself in the story to recognize the wisdom.
I look at Jesus as a man who transcended the ways of the world to become an image of selflessness. He offered Himself as sacrifice after challenging the dominant social structures of the day.
Jesus became the Christ after traveling to Egypt and then to Nepal in search of ancient wisdom. He then returned to the Middle East to present a clearer form of wisdom than the one that was then available.
When Jesus said, “I come in fulfillment of scripture,” He was specifically targeting the tradition of imperfect love. He simply wanted people to love God and each other.

I read a very good book by Tom Harper called The Pagan Christ many years ago. It takes a very interesting dives into the similarities of ancient myths, and the evolution of Jesus Christ. Interestingly enough, it was given to me by a Catholic priest that I used to work for. I believe Tom Harper now deceased was at one time an Anglican minister. I find the term Christian strange as Catholics are technically Christians, but they usually do not refer to themselves as such. They say they’re Catholic. Now the Catholic church has not been a very kind religion in the past, however, scholars of the Catholic Church today are quite liberally minded. At least the ones I met while working for the church. The scholars I spoke with certainly differentiated between Jesus Christ as a person of history and the Catholic faith of today🇨🇦

Dr. Allen, and everyone else listening to this podcast: there WAS an historical Jesus (Yeshua bar Joseph) who "ran away from home" at age 12 to (among other reasons) avoid a traditionally arranged marriage typical of upperclass/wealthy boys and girls of that age. He traveled, many believe, hidden among his wealthy maternal uncle's merchant caravan to India, Persia, and Tibet where he was fully exposed to Buddhism, finally spending most of his time, until the age of ~ 29 or 30, at the Tibetan Monastery at Ladakh (his life and studies there are well-documented among their historical diaries/books). He became a much-beloved teacher there among the poor and lower classes, and was known as "Issa" (a bastardization of his Jewish name, Yeshua). Due to his violation of the centuries old tradition of enlightened masters restricting those teachings to the nobility and upper classes, he was eventually ousted from that Tibetan society, and he returned to his birthplace in Palestine, where he resumed his Buddhist teachings, but to his "own' people. If historians, religious researchers, and others would simply DROP THEIR CULTURAL PREJUDICES LONG ENOUGH TO OPEN UP TO AND READ THIS READY AVAILABLE MATERIAL, MUCH OF THE TRUTH (AND ERRONEOUS INFO) SURROUNDING JESUS' LIFE, TRUE TEACHINGS, AND LATER CORRUPTION BY THE ROMAN GOVERNMENT AND ITS PAGAN INFLUENCES, MUCH OF THE CONFUSING ELEMENTS OF CHRISTIANITY'S DEVELOPMENT WOULD BECOME EXPLICABLE. The Dead Sea Scrolls were an attempt by - probably the Essenes and other early followers of Jesus - to save and maintain his true teachings from Rome's corrupted narrative.

All because Lew White and the cypher people try to turn "shua" to something negative or bad, when that "shua" has nothing to do with "shua" in the Messiah's actual name YAHSHUA! Besides the fact that Hebrew can have a few meanings for words with the same root letters, history and Hebrew grammar supports "shua" in the Messiah's name, among other names in the scriptures.

Mankind thought that these events were because of something they had done and the way to prevent future annihilation was to appease the gods, thus begins human sacrifice vestiges of which we can still see in things like infant circumcision or honoring Saturn’s Day and keeping it holy. Having watched the whole thing, this is not what I was expecting. More true to the title would be Abelards book "True Authorship of the New Testament," or George Lees on youtube. Gnosticism and Zoroastrianism are the worst, IMHO. Good and evil only exist in the intentions of men. In reality there are just actions and consequences. The One God of the Hebrews becomes the Christian Gnostic Demiurge. How backwards, evil, and dumb it is to look at God and all he created and conclude he's an evil demiurge, the material world is evil, and because they hated Jehovah, the Christian Gnostics just invented all that stuff about demiurge and sophia, they just pulled all that out of their butts. If there is a true God higher then the material world god, why does it allow everything to be evil? Another thing I'd correct is that Judaism does in fact have an afterlife, ressurrection or reincarnation, which happens in Isaiah 65. Judaism has the right idea, be reborn and inherit the Earth while all the other death worshipping cults who seek an eternal death in some imaginary spirit world can wither away or stay dead. The Buddhists and their nirvana, Egyptians and their dying to become stars. I want nothing to do with any of that, just bring me back here.

Funny how people blame GOD for not showing up, while blaming him for being GOD, as they find convenient. Anything is subject to "in the wrong hands". The sin that happened between Adam and Eve (Hawa)in heaven was forgiven. by God Almighty in heaven right there. After their forgiveness they were sent down to Earth. So Christians should get rid of this false concept of original sin which does not make sense.

1:22:13 by *_inconceivable_* plotinus clearly means something like characterized in a positive way... like resembling something we already know and thus permitting us to imagine it... if to conceive of something it were enough to describe it in an exclusively apophatic manner, only with negations, then the word *_inconceivable_* would be completely meaningless and probably wouldn't even exist.. so people probably should abandon pretending to be witty and saying that to affirm that something is inconceivable is a paradox ... it is not, it has a very definite and clear meaning and nobody really understands "inconceivable" to be a specific enough description so as to permit to imagine and know in your mind the thing being described... the word simply means that you cannot imagine it cause it doesn't resemble anything that you know or can know.. it's not even an apparent paradox so quit this puerile silliness ...

The bible gives you Jesus and his antichrist adversary Paul of Tarsus, but they were actually both Apollonius. The thorn of Satan or Demiurge in his flesh is Leviathan, as in Galatians 4:14, Job 41:4, and Psalm 74:14, where the beasts heads were wounded, yet he lived. This may have been Marduk slaying Tiamat, the primordial fabric of the universe. The beast ascends from the pit and goes into perdition just to be slain again, by the Son of Man Michael the prince, the one who stands in the temple of God, SHOWING, that he, is, in fact God, and when God makes new heavens, the old creation passes away akin to Shiva, the number 7.

Now concerning these verses, 414 is the code for slaying leviathan. 22 chapters of Revelation, and 22 verses of revelation 3, turn Revelation into the sword in the Stone (Peter / PTAH) and THOTH leaves his 7 thunders as a witness. They are codes formed by putting the 26 English letters into groups of 7. These become a spiritual battleground over the meaning of numbers 1-9, and their perfect correspondences. The lightning must pass through these 9 spheres before it is realized in the material world. Isaiah 22:22 tells us he is given the key, as eludes to the 22, 22, mentioned earlier. Revelation 3:7 This is he who has the royal key of David which opens the door of number 6 mankind and the material world to be reformatted, and saves the church of Philadelphia by constructing Noah's Ark, the Cube of Gilgamesh was is also revealed in the hermetic wisdom of THOTH, and by hermetic, I mean find it on your own, invent it yourself. Put it together if one is able. The 2D Holographic universe is maintained in 3D as linked with the 7 days of creation, for everything was made perfect in 6 days, as a blueprint, but it wasn't until God rested that everything was truly complete. 3D space is maintained by God being asleep.

Understanding where Christianity lost the plot takes us back to the beginning of the story with Adam and Eve. The sin they committed caused them to immediately die which obviously was not a physical death but rather spiritual death. The quest then must be to regain eternal spiritual life not eternal physical life. If Jesus' death was to pay the wages of our sin (spiritual death) then he would have to pay for that price, meaning he would have to be dead eternally for all mankind so we can all live eternally like we did before we sinned. If he is now eternally alive then that blows the whole concept of his eternal death payment so that we can have eternal life. It doesn't even make logical sense much less mythical sense.
The only way any man can live eternally is to go back and make restitution OURSELVES for our own sins. This is ONLY accomplished by repentance and Gods mercy and grace. Which is exactly what he said thousands of times and even in the NT this is taught. The whole Jesus vicarious atonement story was obviously added later into the texts and easy to prove.
We must each be personally responsible for our mistakes and make them right. Christianity takes personal responsibility out of the equation which has led to 2k years of complete personal debauchery and chaos. Who in the hell wouldn't want want to continue to live by their sin nature and be told that the tab has already been paid in full. Of course people are going to continue to live like complete debauched imbeciles and WORSE, all while thinking they are righteous in their creators eyes. Its the biggest racquet and scam ever pulled on mankind. The point of the NT was to remove all the physical rituals of temple service and animal sacrifice which never paid for sins either. The NT was originally written to restore spiritual accountability for actions that no physical rituals could ever make right. They were all actions in futility if ones spiritual heart was still full of sin. This is why i cant understand Christianity. If Jesus took away the price for sins, (eternal death) then why try to pretend to be righteous? Why go to church? Why help others? Its contradictions in terms. It doesn't matter how you live or what you do. Stop trying to act righteous and go ahead and live openly as the devil. Which is what most do in private anyway. The whole religion lost its way with the ridiculous virgin birth story that was added by Rome by taking Isaiah 7 completely out context. This one narrative is what led to 2k years of deception and billions of people believing and living a false religion. I can say these things because i lived it for 55 years until i finally decided to read the WHOLE bible for myself in context. Rocked my world but not for too long because i always knew it didn't make logical sense. And its NOT a big mystery as Christians have parroted for centuries to explain away the obvious contradictions. 😮.

The "Most High" originally referred to the Canaanite god El. The father of the gods in ancient Canaan, including Yahweh. They both are fictional, as are the hundreds of other gods from that region.
      ---------------------------------------------------------
According to the general consensus of scholarship *(even critical Christian scholars),* YHWH was originally incorporated into the Canaanite pantheon as a son of the Canaanite high god El before inheriting the top spot in the pantheon and El's wife Athirat (Asherah) before religious reforms "divorced" them. El's pantheon in Ugarit (modern day Ras Shamra in Syria) is called the *Elohim,* literally the plural of El. Interestingly, the Biblical god is also referred to numerous times as Elohim. If you want to see if El is fictional, just read his mythology in the Ugaritic/Canaanite texts.
"The mysterious Ugaritic text Shachar and Shalim tells how (perhaps near the beginning of all things) *El* came to shores of the sea and saw two women who bobbed up and down. *El* was sexually aroused and took the two with him, killed a bird by throwing a staff at it, and roasted it over a fire. He asked the women to tell him when the bird was fully cooked, and to then address him either as husband or as father, for he would thenceforward behave to them as they called him. They saluted him as husband. He then lay with them, and they gave birth to Shachar ("Dawn") and Shalim ("Dusk"). Again *El* lay with his wives and the wives gave birth to "the gracious gods", "cleavers of the sea", "children of the sea". The names of these wives are not explicitly provided, but some confusing rubrics at the beginning of the account mention the goddess *Athirat (Asherah),* who is otherwise *El's* chief wife, and the goddess Raḥmayyu ("the one of the womb"), otherwise unknown."
*"First, a god named El predates the arrival of the Israelites into Syria-Palestine.* Biblical usage shows El was not just a generic noun, but often a proper name for Israel’s God (e.g., Gen 33:20: “El, the God of Israel”)."
"I should add here that it is very clear from the grammar that the noun nachalah in v. 9 should be translated “inheritance.” *Yahweh receives Israel as his “inheritance” (nachalah), just as the other sons of El received their nations as their inheritance (nachal, v. 8).* With this verb, especially in the Hiphil, the object is always what is being given as an inheritance. Thus, Israel is given to Yahweh as his inheritance. ((Here I’m indebted to Dan McClellan.)) It would make no sense for Elyon to give himself an inheritance. Moreover, as I’ve argued elsewhere, it is not just the Gentile nations that are divided up according to the number of the *sons of El.* It is all of humankind, i.e., “the sons of Adam.” This clearly includes Israel. And the sons of Adam are not divided up according to the number of the *sons of El,* plus one (i.e., plus Elyon). They are divided up, according to the text, *solely* according to the number of the *sons of El.* *Thus, that Yahweh receives Israel as his inheritance makes Yahweh one of the sons of El mentioned in v. 8. Any other construal of the text would constitute its rewriting.*
A Sumerian hymn speaks to the goddess: “Nanshe, your divine powers are not matched by any other divine powers.” *Does this mean that Nanshe was the high goddess, that there were no gods above her? No, it does not.* Nanshe was the daughter of Enki, the high god. *In Sumerian mythology, as with Ugaritic, Israelite, Babylonian, and others, in the ancient past, the high god (Enki, in this case) divided up the world and assigned his children certain domains.* Nanshe was given a limited domain (the modern Persian Gulf) and was tasked with maintaining social justice there. *This is exactly what we see in Deuteronomy 32 with Yahweh. Yahweh is given a limited domain (Israel) and is given authority over his people, to punish them, as well as to protect and defend them against foreign enemies.* That Yahweh, like Nanshe, is said to have incomparable divine power *does not* mean that he is not subordinate to the high god who gave him his domain. *It is also of note that Nanshe, like Baal, Yahweh, and so many other deities, evolved over time. Her domain increased, and she was promoted in the pantheon (although she never became the high goddess)."*
*"The Most Heiser: Yahweh and Elyon in Psalm 82 and Deuteronomy 32 - Religion at the Margins"* based on the *majority scholarly consensus.*

*"The Table of Nations: The Geography of the World in Genesis 10"* - TheTorah.com
(Excluding the short narrative on Nimrod (vv. 8-12), *which appears to be a later addition,* Genesis 10 contains *70* names of nations or cities, a number that was symbolic of totality. Similarly, the descendants of Jacob were *70* in number (Gen 46:37; Exod 1:5), *as were the sons of the supreme Canaanite god El, with whom YHWH became equated.)*
*"Polytheism and Ancient Israel’s Canaanite Heritage. Part V | theyellowdart"*
(Of course, much of this [i.e., that Israel worshiped El and Asherah alongside YHWH] is really to be expected given that recent syntheses of the *archaeological, cultural, and literary data* pertaining to the emergence of the nation of Israel in the Levant *show that most of the people who would eventually compose this group were originally Canaanite. As the Hebrew Bible notes, the Hebrew language itself is a Canaanite language, literally the “lip of Canaan” (שְׂפַת כְּנַעַן; Is. **19:18**), and so it cannot often be distinguished by modern scholars from other Canaanite inscriptions on purely linguistic grounds.)*
      *"Ugarit - New World Encyclopedia"*
(Ugaritic religion centered on the chief god, Ilu or El, whose titles included "Father of mankind" and "Creator of the creation." The Court of El was referred to as the (plural) 'lhm or ***Elohim,*** a word ***later used by the biblical writers to describe the Hebrew deity*** and translated into English as "God," in the singular.
El, which was ***also the name of the God of Abraham,*** was described as an aged deity with white hair, seated on a throne.)

Nevertheless, the historical reconstruction that El was the chief god of the Israelites is not indebted only to the testimony of the (rather late) biblical witness of P. *Numerous biblical texts attest to the fact that the titles, functions, and the imagery associated with the Canaanite god El, as revealed by the Ugaritic texts and the Canaanite myth of Elkunirša, were assimilated into the profile of the deity YHWH.* According to the Ugaritic texts, El was known for his *wisdom* (e.g., KTU2 1.4.V.65[6]) and *great age* (’ab šnm, *“Father of Years,”* and drd, *“Ageless One,”* in KTU2 1.4.IV.24 and 1.10.III.6, respectively),[7] his *compassionate nature* (lţpn il dp’id, *“Kind El, the Compassionate One,”* e.g., KTU2 1.16.IV.9), his role as *father of the gods and humanity* (’ab ’adm, *“father of humanity,”* KTU2 1.14..III.47, and bny bnwt, *“creator of creatures,”* KTU2 1.17.I.24) and *creator of the cosmos.* [8] El was the *divine King* (e.g., KTU2 1.2.III.5-6) and the *head of the pantheon or divine council* (referred to variously as the dr ’il, *“circle of El/Family of El,”* KTU2 1.15.III.19; mpħrt bn ’il, *“the assembly of the sons of El,”* KTU2 1.65.3; bn ’il, *“the sons of El,”* KTU2 1.40.33, 41; pħr kbbm, *“assembly of the stars,”* KTU2 1.10.I.3-4; ‘dt ’ilm, *“assembly of the gods,”* KTU2 1.15.II.7; cf. KTU2 1.2.I; 1.3V; 1.4 IV-V) which met at the sacred mountain. *His consort was the goddess Athirat who bore him seventy sons* (šb‘m bn ’atrt, *“the seventy sons of Athirat,”* KTU2 1.4.VI.46). El was also known for his *divine patronage and blessing of progeny to humans* (as in the Epic of Kirta; see, for example, KTU2 1.14.III.46-51), for his *appearances to humans in dreams* (e.g., KTU2 1.14.I.35-37), as *being a healer* (KTU2 1.16.V-VI), and for his *dwelling at the sacred mountain* (e.g., KTU2 1.2.III.5-6) at the *sources of the mythical rivers* (KTU2 1.2.III.4; 1.3.V.6; 1.4.IV.20-22; 1.17.V.47-48) in a *tent* (KTU2 1.2.III.5; 1.3.V.8; 1.4.IV.24; 1.17.V.49; c.f. the Canaanite myth Elkunirša which *describes El’s abode as a tent[9]).[10]*
*To underscore the fact that terminology and imagery originally used for the god El was adopted by the Israelites in their descriptions of YHWH,* the following brief summary might be placed in comparison to the discussion of El above: YHWH is an *aged, patriarchal deity* (Ps. 102:28; Job 36:26; Is. 40:28; Dan. 7.9-14, 22), *a father* (Deut. 32:6; Is. 63:16; 64:7; Jer. 3:4, 19; 31:9, etc.), *merciful and gracious* (Ex. 34:6; Jon. 4:2; Joel 2:13; Ps. 8615; 103:8; 145:8, etc.), *a divine patron who bestows the blessing of progeny upon Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob,* often manifesting himself in *dreams or visions, a healer* (Gen. 20:17; Num. 12:13; 2 Kgs. 20:5, 8; Ps. 107:20, etc.), who *dwells in a tent* (Ps. 15:1; 27:6; 91:10; 132:3) *amidst the heavenly waters* (Ps. 47:5; 87; Is. 33: 20-22; Ez. 47:1-12, etc.), the *creator of the cosmos,* who is enthroned as *heavenly King* in the *divine council* (1 Kgs. 22:19; Is. 6:1-8; cf. Ps. 29:1-2; 82; 89: 5-8, etc.) on the *sacred mount of assembly* (e.g., Is. 14:13). Additionally, in much Israelite religious practice throughout the monarchic period, *YHWH had a divine consort, the goddess Asherah, the Hebrew equivalent of Ugaritic Athirat.[11]* (Originally the wife of El)

Christ spiritualism wasn't a thing though, there's no greek word for spiritual other than pneumatic, which isn't spirit it's pnuema-dealing with breathing, exertion. Spiritual is from the 1890s of yankee lands/new england area, "burning district".
