- Tenants evicted from a home in the city left dogs and cat behind. The neighbor reports that the tenants moved out 30 days prior, leaving the animals living alone in the home until eviction day.

So the neighbors knew the dogs were left a month ago, but didnt bother to call animal control. She was surprised they survived this long. What a lovely woman!!

That woman in the street could’ve called animal control. Said she “didn’t do animals!” Lord. Complaining about a tree but didn’t care about the animals. I don’t have time for people like her.

Neighbor could of called the shelter. She knew the dogs were starving for a month.
Dogs weren't starving for a month. They would have been dead
the neighbor said someone came over a week ago and stayed for a little. So they probably fed and watered them, hence they didn't appear emaciated according to the animal control officer.
What disgusting people to leave their dogs and cat like that. They deserve animal neglect/abuse charges.

I adopted a cat that was part of a group of cats abandoned. I remember her first few days how terrified she was and shaking and hissing. I can't believe people do mean things to these innocent poor animals. It's been a year now and my cat loves me and purrs like crazy and loves running and playing.

I sometimes dream of being a billionare and being able to help animals who need have emergencies and need surgery or something but the owner can't pay. I had to put my last cat to sleep but I wish I could have had the money to get her more help she had stomach cancer.

There was a woman across the street from my fiancé that abandoned two pit bulls and it was freezing temps here on the coast. I found out 3 weeks in and had to nurse one back to health from skin and bones. I found her for animal control and they went to arrest her. Hope she rots

Thank you for immediately taking care of those dogs! My landlord had to evict a tenant at his other property who had a dog that his friends wanted him to watch what was first a couple weeks which turned into couple months which turned into many months. When he was going through the eviction, my landlord told him which shelter to take the dog so he wouldn't be put down. I had adopted my pitbull mix from there. The guy promised. Three days later my landlord goes to the now empty apartment and out shoots this blur into the yard and the dog relieves himself for 5 minutes. The guy left the dog without food or water in the dark apartment for those 3 days. My landlord, being a dog guy, was furious. Diesel, the dog, is very afraid of the dark, of being alone and if allowed will eat until he throws up. He's been our dog since my landlord sent me pictures that day and asked if we wanted another dog over 6 years ago. The original owners got in contact with my landlord a year after their friend was evicted asking if he knew where "their" dog was. Some people should not be allowed to own animals.

If you can't even keep your house clean, it's best not to bring animals into the situation. All those grown people living there & look at how dirty the walls and furnishings are. Absolutely heartbreaking! I will never understand how anyone can leave a furry family member behind! Me and my husband were made homeless ( we now have a lovely social housing house ) and had limited options, I had 4 cats and a house ferret, I would of lived in a tent outside rather than leave my babies anywhere. We thankfully were offered a room at my father in laws, so we all went there, thankfully it was only for 6 weeks.
20 months ago (we have been in our new home for almost 7 years now) our next door neighbour moved and left her cat alone outside, he was so frightened, confused and alone, it took us MONTHS to earn his trust and long story short he became a member of our family, sadly he was run over on the road, he was only 3 years old. Myheart hurts every day, but I thank god we persevered with him and he had 18 months of so much love with us.

The home was in poor living conditions and hopefully the animals were placed in a loving, clean home. I don't think the dogs went a month without being fed, they looked in decent shape in my opinion.
Some people shouldn’t be allowed to have animals or children. Hopefully these poor animals can find a loving home. In our state you get jail time for serious animal neglect and abuse charges and it’s to bad that all states don’t have the same laws for pets. We were taught that you only adopt a animal if you can keep them and love them until they pass away from old age because they are a part of the family. I understand that emergency’s happen but that’s what the humane society is for if you can’t find a family member to take them!
I have a foster in my house now from MAS. When he heard those dogs screaming, she jumped up ready.

The dogs are traumatized. Their tails aren't up and wagging. Their tails are actually in between their hind legs. Very sad. It will take awhile to normalize these dogs.

Had a guy in my neighborhood living in a house without power and water (was stealing utilities from neighbors) and literally went and got a new puppy. Can’t afford to pay a water bill but has money for dog food. SMH.
That poor dog was terrified...How disgusting to leave animals like that...Did the owner's ever show them love? Swinging the dog over had to have choked him some..That fence was crazy and I would have cut it before removing the poor dog...clearly it didn't ever get out..

I can think of an appropriate home for the owners of those dogs, roof over their head and 3 meals a day, it's called a cell. Animal control should have the authority to charge & take people to court for animal neglect and abandonment. They do where I live.

When I was 16 my neighbor had this big dog he use to walk everyday and play with him all the time like he was part of their family and one day they were packing everything up and moving out of state with a Uhaul truck and everything. A few days later I walked pass their old house and their dog came to the wooden fence barking and I realize they left him there and moved away I was shocked I thought they loved that dog and they were actually a nice family too. I ended up calling the police and they came to the house to check and afterwards called the human society to come pick up the dog.
They were terrible after all.

I have a dog from an eviction house in south central LA. Left locked inside with no food or water. By the time animal control got access inside he was a little skeleton, very afraid and bites. One year later and he’s the best, happiest little guy living the good life with me. Abandonment is traumatic for dogs no matter what kind of a scumbag owner they were.

🥹🥹 this hurts my heart, our pets don’t ask for this…they depend on US to provide what is needed! Guarantee those dogs gave their all for their humans & in the end, their humans LEFT them high & dry and failed them miserably!!! I hope the doggos found the loving homes they deserved!!
