- Tenant facing eviction receives a judgement against her in court for possession of the property. The tenant then files for bankruptcy that causes an automatic stay which prevents the eviction. However, the conditions of the bankruptcy were not met causing the bankruptcy to be dismissed and the stay removed. Once the stay is removed, the landlord can move forward with the eviction which has already been granted by the court.
Once there, the tenant claims she is still under bankruptcy, but her attorney and the court records say otherwise...

This should be your payday ritual when you receive your check through direct deposit (ALWAYS, the person robbing you doesn't care that you won't be able to pay your rent) or when you cash your check:
1) TRANSFER at least 10% of your paycheck into Savings. If you can't figure out 10%, just look at the net amount of your check and move the decimal point one space to the left. If your check is $500.00, one space to the left is $50. 00.
2) TRANSFER one half of the amount of your rent into your Savings account if you are getting paid every two weeks or twice a month. Transfer one quarter of your rent into your Savings if you get your paycheck each week.
3) Utilities: how much is your electric and gas bill? Your cell phone bill? If for example you pay 200.00 a month in electricity and gas and $100.00 a month for your cell phone, transfer $100 into Savings for the electric bill and $50 into Savings for the cell phone bill if you are getting paid every two weeks or twice a month.
WHEN PAYMENT IS DUE, transfer the one month amount into your Checking account just before the bills are due.

I got waaayyyyyy behind on rent one time. I didn’t get evicted because….drumroll…I was communicating FREQUENTLY with my landlord and paying whatever I could. He knew I was trying and worked with me, thank goodness. It took me so long to get caught back up, but I finally did. I have worked as much as 96 hours in a week before (between 3 jobs) because I had kids to take care. As an adult you do what you have to do! We have never been rich but we always had food to eat and a roof over our heads!
Now, you are a responsible person. Rent always comes number 1 no matter what. People need to realize this.
I too was also behind on rent. The landlord made me sign a short-term contract stating that I pay $600 every 2 weeks until rent is paid in full. I owed 2 months of rent which was $2200. So I paid that amount every 2 weeks ($600) bcuz I have 4 kids and I had to keep the roof over our heads. Thankfully I was able to get caught up. It's been a year since that terrible time and the landlord and I are on very good terms. Haven't been late since.

My parents are landlords and are always willing to help their tenants out. Shocking
I tried helping my tenant out several times with getting caught up on rent and she never followed through with any of the agreements. After three months of rent not being paid, I finally had to serve her a 5 days notice to pay or quit. I was willing to break the lease for free so it wouldn't damage her chances of finding another place. She never took me up on that offer. Finally she had the money to pay, but the 5 days had passed and I didn't want to accept payments. Monday is the court date. No matter how much you're willing to help you tenant out, they still refuse to follow through. It's sad.
She is asleep at 11am, got her nails and eye lashes done, but filed bankruptcy. So sad. Know your priorities people. Rent always comes first!
No matter what, get your important business handled FIRST, then splurge on your wants & desires....

I doubt this is the case, But there are people that work at night. You don't know her situation. You just know she let it get out of order. That doesn't mean she doesn't have a job. Once you get so far behind. It doesn't matter if you Can pay it back because they're not gonna let you. They just want you out.

I've worked as a correctional officer for the stateof Texas for years. I had an on-the-job injury that required back surgery and I had a hard time recovering from it. However, when I knew it was apparent that I wasn't able to afford rent, I talked to the landlord explain the situation got out of my lease, paid what was owed and moved into a motel for a couple of months.
I leaned heavy on my credit cards, I got a personal installment loan, and then found new line of work through a staffing agency.... I held down one full time, and one part-time job.
I've been working both jobs ever since. I making sure I always have something in the bank for hard times because it does happen to us all.

I feel bad for anyone being evicted, but if it were me & I knew I couldn't afford to pay, I would've already packed my s**t & moved it out! There are storage units all over the place. Also, with the price of housing, stop acting like it can't happen to you. Save every penny you can for life's emergencies...all it takes is a layoff!

Everybody wants to feel bad for the folks getting evicted but nobody ever cares about the landlords and how much of a financial loss they take. Evicting someone is not a cheap process and folks wonder why low income housing is becoming almost nonexistent.
True! Some landlords still have mortgages on their rental properties and cannot pay the mortgage if they don’t get paid.
True my current eviction cost 250 in legal fees. They left 2000 of utility bills and there is a crap load that needs to go to the dump for which I’ll have to pay for approximately 2 pickup truck loads of dirty furniture, appliances. Etc
I’m dealing with this now. The one in my house has taken almost $75,000 from us, has threatened us on social media and keeps moving in more people with kids so he can use them as human shields. Laws need to change in this country to protect the property owners who actually pay taxes

The entitlement is ridiculous. I paid my rent 3 days late and felt stressed the entire 3 days. No way could I sleep comfortably knowing I owe someone money for my house. She expects to live there for FREE.

Staying in a house and knowing you're about to get evicted is crazy to me. Either pay the rent or vacate the premises. Don't wait for a marshal to do a forced entry! Surprised he entertained this woman so long.

Unfortunately most of these stories are much worse than they seem. The system is broken allowing tennants to much power to remain in someone else's property for free. In most cases these people have been living rent free for 6-12 months. Especially with a lot of states halting evictions during the BS pandemic. I even watched one (not this channel), where the homeowner lost everything, even his OWN house because a large portion of his rental properties all stopped paying rent. He couldn't evict them, but the bank took his house and most of his properties because he no longer could pay the mortgages or taxes on them.

There are bad landlords out there and they need to be held responsible too, but I think we can all agree, most of the people we see on these videos getting evicted all have smart phones, laptops, flat screen tvs etc but can't manage to pay their rent.

Nah, it just means they accepted their fate and are moving on. Nothing can be done so what good would crying, begging, and doing the most do in that situation. Calm collected and cooperative the the best and only option in these type of situations.
When our family was evicted years ago we all cried hysterically because it hadn't happened to us before. So I don't share in your analysis that they just accepted it and moved on. Trust me they are professional squatters and rental Dodgers and didn't care about being evicted because it's just routine at this point!

Rent should ALWAYS be the 1st bill paid. Then car note and car insurance. Everything else will work itself out when in hard times. The club, McDonalds, that new outfit etc can wait

It was embarrassing to me. I was paying my rent into the Detroit escrow (mandatory for Detroit). My slumlord did an eviction behind my back and all of the sudden someone showed up to put my stuff out. Hired a lawyer and the case he did on the sly was dismissed and I received all my escrowed rent back. So yeah, it's embarrassing.
All I can say is, at least the tenant keep her house clean. That's so rare in these eviction cases. My heart goes out to folks like this that are struggling.

The pandemic was the gateway for people not paying rent. They continued beyond that and think they can live 6-12 months rent free. 🤷♀️

Filing bankruptcy and then missing your bankruptcy payment is a whole different level of carelessness.
Either way, it had nothing to do with her being evicted. Rent or a mortgage isn't included in a bankruptcy.

Clearly she misses payments because he's there. So him saying that gave her no other excuses to prolong getting out. He wouldn't have a stay on file for her eviction because the two things have absolutely nothing to do with each other.

He dit it all from sheriff deputy, narcotics & homicide investigator, corner and a us marshall. He had a lot of interesting stories. He was law enforcement at a time when they used to protect & serve.

Her relatively nice things indicate that she is not in a desparate situation financially (people who are do go sell or pawn their furniture and electronics to keep the roof over their heads), therefore she is likely taking advantage of the system and her landlord by staying there rent-free. I agree with you as far as being understanding of others' troubles, but in her case ... idk, would have to pass on feeling sorry for her. She should live within her means.

I've rented to single mothers the last 5 years and they all ended up in evictions , before that I had a single dad and his 2 kids that rented for 20 years with no problems paying and saved money to buy his own house that I help him do repairs on , LADIES, step your game up

She’s actually complaining to the processors about how she doesn’t appreciate the way the processors are handling her stuff! When you have an eviction. You go to court and they give you a certain amount of time to get out of their home. That's final,I'm assuming she had to file. Bankruptcy before she went to court For her final notice.
Get a moving Van and get your stuff out of there, even if you gotta live inside The storage bin. Get out. This is just embarrassing And it shows a lack of character and responsibility when you actually allow the sheriff to walk in your house and empty it out.

Her mother die and left a chuck of money for each of her kids she got about 20k
My mother friend sister who spends more money in cigs than rent, use that money to fix the additional in the back which is a loft
Her 2 sons who both get SSI
One of them fixed the back out planning to have the new tenant pay $700 month
The mortgage was sent to her, she paid it
The owner die and the brother took over the houses
Try helping her because she wanted a house for less than what she was paying, Even try helping her get a trailer |(which is cheaper) than what she pays in rent
She didn't want that because she has "standard"
Even through i knew place who will rent to own for her and be more affordable
She didn't have anything save
this was during covid also so she stay there rent free told her not to pay rent
over a year, spend all of that money on more cigs
I kid you not, Even had a yard sell made several hundreds of dollars and that was gone to
Imagine fixing a house you don't even own
So my mother friends son
He lived with his in law for over 25 years, rent free
Mind you
His wife get about $1200 lish because she is also on SSI + he works making about 40k/year
When his in law die the brother took control over the assets
So, Then was force to move into his mother house which is a trailers that is age 55+
Keep in mind that the son has 2 kids proby in the 19/20
One works 3 jobs, Which is wages are 17/hourly minimum working as a bus boy, cleaning a bank $20/hour/ forgot the other one
His other son also work as a chef for a different restaurants he was making over $16 this was full years ago full time
Move into a trailer almost the the grandma/mother evicted
25 years living in a house rent free and got $0 saved
Also spends all of their moneys on cigs, weed

She is young enough to pay her bills. Maybe if they weren't asleep at 11AM they could find jobs and get to work. Nobody has a right to live in someone else's property for free, unless the owner gives you the right. These people have a lot of nerve to think they can just take over someone else's home and the courts should stop letting this happen.

I'm not so quick judge about certain things. Asleep late in the morning? Some people work nights. When I was on a tight budget for a long time, I let myself buy a small bunch of flowers every so often. It lifted my spirits & helped me make it through. Maybe this woman's eyelashes are to her what my little flowers were to me. But I was working and going to school.

When I was a single mom I did nothing nice for myself and worked very hard to get us a place without gov assistance and more. My focus was providing a safe stable and consistent home for my child. Once I got to a point where the money was nice and abundant. I would treat me but before that it’s was la bills rent and trays for my kids because they don’t deserve to suffer for our poor choices. It’s called being a grown up. Once you have kids, it’s not about you anymore.

Everyone's mentioning how clean are houses but she's not paying to live there we had a family renting a house from us it was the way we paid taxes on the other two oz my grandmother's and my mom's house these people put their kids into Christian School and pay their tuition 4 months and months setting us back on our taxes they also trashed the house and kept the key purposely so that I had to climb through a window which took over 6 months to fix I feel sorry for these landlords they got taxes to pay they have other things are required to do to keep up on the house that cost them a lot of money so what if she keeps a clean house it's just plain wrong
