    You guys should do a video on how to train your hair. Like tips and techniques that your hair more manageable and get it to do what you want it to do. That would be really helpful to a lot of transitioners like me and even a few naturals who just don't know what to do with their hair

    So is it healthy to leave your hair in a bun all night? I put my hair in a sock bun overnight when I don't feel like doing it at night or te next morning, and when I take it down, my ends don't look good at all. Is this a hair style for curly hair only or....?

    Hi, my name is Jill. I'm 47 yrs. old. I have been perming my hair since I was 13 yrs. old. I'm tired of the relaxed hair, the process of perming it too. I have been trying to go natural for years now, but the process is unbearable. I'll try every time I get at least 3 months of new growth. But then the tightening of the scalp drives me crazy. I need to invest in one line of products to which I can commit to using. My hair is very soft. I'm trying this transition one more time. Can you recommend a line of products that will help me with this transition. I want to do braid out, but I don't want my hair to break very bad during the process. What do you suggest. And your hair is very beautiful.

    • @brybaby141
      @brybaby141 9 років тому

      Hi Jill! I was able to successfully transition and it took me about 2 and 1/2 years to finally cut off all of my relaxed ends (I had long but damaged relaxed hair). A lot of the products that helped me during my transition was the cantu Shea butter line and shea moisture products. Believe me I know what it was like going through the sensitive scalp and the thick new growth. I used buns and usually did one big braid to help hide my two textures and keep my hair protected. You want to make sure your hair is always moisturized, in a protective style, and take your time when detangling. Hope this helps! 😁

    • @jilln.sullivan3433
      @jilln.sullivan3433 9 років тому +1

      Okay. Thanks for responding to my question. I have like 2 months post permed hair. I'm about to start a new job, and I can't afford to purchase the line of hair care products until I get paid. Because once I start, I don't want to give in and perm my hair again. I'm really gonna stick to it this time. I had already bought some Cantu Grow Strong Strengthening treatment to use. And I love it, so I think that I'm gonna take your advise and go with those two products for my hair. Wish me luck. I need to do a before and a year later post. I'm not good with the videos. But I will follow you and let you know how it's going.

    • @brybaby141
      @brybaby141 9 років тому

      Jill N. Sullivan I was in that same predicament when I started to transition. When I first started my transition all I had was my Cantu Shea leave in and some oil. So what I would do is make sure I spread the treatment throughout my hair, seal it with oil, then bun up my hair. That way my hair was moisturized and I had a convenient hairstyle for work.

    • @tiffanyedwards9461
      @tiffanyedwards9461 8 років тому

      +Jill N. Sullivan also you can get braids till you have mostly natural hair and then cut the permed ends off

      Thanks Tiffany. I went ahead and cut it off in March. I love it.

    If your sock is made out of cotton, it will dry out your hair. Cotton dries out hair, that's why silk or satin is recommended. I have texlaxed hair, and I wear buns all the time. I never have problems with my ends b/c I don't use things made out of cotton in my hair.
