At my age one thing I have is experience. Thanks for a great comment. I’m enjoying the whole thing. UA-cam has become a lot of fun for me. I’m really enjoying communicating with nice people like yourself.
Man I sure hope so. I have till July. That gives me 8 months. I have a ton to do but I like hard work. Have a great day. It’s beautiful here in the northeast. 👍🤓
It’s great when they start to look like a car again eh? Dave you could do it the same way next time and it’ll fit. They’ve all been cut and welded over the years, some well some not so. Add to that pattern parts and you’d have been extremely lucky had it fitted straight off. I had a wrestle with swapping out the rubbers on my inlet manifold today to some that won’t disintegrate with this modern fuel, took me all day on something I would have done in my lunch break years ago, sometimes 💩 happens😂
TrixedOut, ty for your support and nice comments. Mistakes are a great way to learn but at first they are a little bit of a bummer. Starting a new video today. Welding heater channels to the fire wall and removing the chassis. I’m preparing to put the bug on its side to do under body repairs.
Wow, thanks for the great comment. My whole life I’ve mostly have been self taught. I’ve made more mistakes than I want to acknowledge. The good thing it taught me what I now know . You can’t give up just take a break and start over. I love working with metal. Have a great day buddy.
Another grate video Dave Iv still got to sort out my mistake its with the A pillow but you have gave me more confidence to sort it out I looked at your death foam video and have removed mine but what do I replace it with
Keinth, I didn’t replace it with anything. I don’t think it will be a problem but if it is then I’ll deal with it. About your A pillar, you can send me a picture or two. And a explanation of the problem maybe I could help in someway. You can email me through UA-cam. I’m sure it will work out.
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetle thanks bud, I did have some fine tuning. At first I didn’t realize why the body wasn’t sitting right, then I figured it out rather than freak out. Ha! Hay my tunnel panel came today. Very nice quality. I’ll be back on the chassis in a couple weeks. Have a great night.
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetleespecially with free shipping I took today off. And have family stuff for a couple days. I’ll be chomping at the bit to get back at it.
Hands up anyone who hasn't made a mistake???? cheers buddy
@@russelblackwell6041 thanks, ha! Next time I’ll measure twice. 👍🤓

Thanks Zimms, truer words were never spoken. 👍🤓
We have all been there. Keep up the great work!
@@buglover65 thanks buglover, I want to try to show what I’m doing even if things were going sideways.

@@philp4842 Philip you hit the nail on the head. This bug had many previous repairs. Things don’t go as fast as the used too.
Very helpful because I probably would have done the same thing! Thanks Dave!

I don't think you made mistakes. It's just fine tuning your body panels. Looks nice with heater channels in place.

I make tons of mistakes!
Me too, that’s how I’ve learned over the years. 👍🤓
Too bad you had to redo some of that nice work. It happens I guess
Ha! I know. At first it seems worse than it is. Then you take a second look and start fixing it. 👍
