    Great video! Thank you so much for these!
    Do you use auto focus at all? Like do you have your camera focus on a specific thing and then do the push in towards that? Like what do you do for focus during the non-detail shots?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  8 місяців тому +2

      Thanks!! Yes. If I'm going straight at something I usually have it on the middle point so it lands on an important wall or feature (like a fireplace or bed). If I'm going through a room (kitchen, patio etc) I usually put the focus point on a lower third so the camera will have the furniture or countertops to focus on somewhere mid-distance in the composition. Don't want to go too close or too far away or things might get messed up and it's hard to notice on a tiny screen.

    Hi taylor! I am a beginner in real estate videography and was wondering if its fine to use the sony a6700? That is the camera I have an if so, what lens would you recommend, also should I use auto iso for slog 3 because of the different lighting around the houses I am shooting? Or should I just use manual? Thanks! currently i have the 16-55 mm kit lens.

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  4 місяці тому +1

      Hey! Yeah it’s probably going to work fine to get going. I haven’t used one so you tell me what you think :)
      Your lens won’t be quite as wide for interiors though but it’s really all up to creative choice and what clients like anyways so go ahead and get started and build from there if you feel like you need a better camera or different lenses etc. If you do want normal real estate wide shots (like the ones in this video) you’ll need something like a 10mm to similar perspective as a
      16mm on full frame for a cropped sensor camera camera. I’d stick to manual settings or at least locking them for each shot so your footage isn’t changing mid-shot. That usually looks less professional. The only time I would do auto iso is for some specific inside-outside shot of someone talking on camera really.
      Hope that all helps!

    Nice vid! Do you recommend and stabilizing software or hacks? The issue I'm having is with super longs push-ins or fast orbits or just pushing the limit with my gimbal. I want the footage to look like its floating, I always have this unwanted bounce sometimes not all the time when i'm being a little more dynamic with my shots that I know I can get out, but I haven't figured how to remove them yet... Any suggestions?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  6 місяців тому +2

      Honestly the most perfect gimbal shots I’ve ever done were using a onewheel for a long driveway shot lol. Roller blades would probably work great too since it would eliminate that up and down axis.
      But for normal gimbal work on foot, maybe try some super cushy running shoes or try doing weight lifting that is similar movements to using a gimbal (but much heavier eventually) so you’re naturally going to get more stable and it will be easier too.
      For stabilization I just use the built in effect in Final Cut and it seems to work better than premiere.
      I think Sony has their own stabilizing software if you have one of their cameras.
      Hope that helps! 🫡

    How did you get your clips to have the "normal 100%" drop down above the clip tho?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  3 місяці тому

      I think I imported them, color graded & changed speed to 80% , added stabilizer, then turned it into a nested/compound clip so I could add the speed ramp from there without affecting the other stuff. I didn’t think about it and just did that to make it look more simple on the screen recording but I now realize that would have been helpful to show too 🤣 my bad

      @@TaylorBrownPhotoVideo One of my biggest concerns honestly, is while the EV is a flexible budget camera, some of your past videos, like the workflow video, usually show the 60 frames and then show the slowdown percentage.
      While I think the EV will do a bit of everything for me, is not shooting in 60 fps a huge deterrent and I should consider something else as a beginner-novice for the real estate stuff?

      I see how the transition is very smooth and slow

    How to premer pro?

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  2 місяці тому

      To do speed ramps in Premiere, you have to right click on the footage where it says "fx" , then select Time Remapping / Speed, then use keyboard shortcut "p" to draw keyframe points where you want the speed ramp to start/finish (for this trend you just need one point really). To draw them just click with your mouse on the point and it should show up with a dot. After that, use keyboard shortcut "v" to go back to using the normal selection tool. After that, zoom in on the footage (+) and you'll be able to click the line on the side you want to be fast and drag it up to a fast percentage (like 2000+). That will speed up the footage. To smooth out the speed ramp you can click the point you drew and drag it left/right and you'll see a ramp shape appear. Keep adjusting until it works for you. You can m make it longer or shorter depending on what you want from there. Hard to make sense of it over text so I made a quick screen recording showing what it looks like lol. It's just random footage unrelated to this trend but you'll see what I mean.drive.google.com/drive/folders/1p__eY40s2EYPjZ70P8Zklwn_DvSH8f-h?usp=share_link

  • @johnestolvn

    I tried this, and when I speed it up, I get this side to side jitter it’s not smooth. Seems like when I’m taking the shot my gimbal is swaying side to side as I’m trying to hold a straight line.

    • @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo
      @TaylorBrownPhotoVideo  8 місяців тому

      Yeah it’s tricky! Have you tried adding stabilization in post before adding the speed ramp? Or try holding the trigger on your gimbal to keep it locked in straight? Might also try using the lens support if your gimbal has one if you aren’t already. I know that’s helped me a lot lately!

      For real estate you need more dynamic range than other genres of videography so you don't have blown out windows. Osmo is not that great cause of small sensor and not that good d-log M. Second thing is that you actually need to look professional to your clients so they can show off with you to their clients. It's kinda stupid but it is what it is
