Dean, I love that you are so detailed for us. One of the things that amaze me is the clean look of the loaf when you unmold. Thank YOU for all your help!
I think a line of white on one side on top then blown over the surface with a straw would be interesting. The top is where you see your white caps, and this reminds me of the ocean.
Beautiful! I am going to try this today! It matters not that the cutting measurements are not quite accurate when the soap is so lovely! You are still THE BEST😊👏❤️
I love the way these turned out. I think a white swirl would detract from the beauty, but that's my personal opinion. May I suggest you get/build a mitre box? I had one that could double as a small loaf mold, but it made cutting a lot easier to get straight. Unfortunately I loaned it to my sister in law and didn't get it back.
Until you decide to get a mitre box, double handled knife or other cutter, just turning the soap on it's side for cutting can help keep the bars more even. 😉
Rocking up a bit late to the party. But. I like this as is for a calming, rolling ocean feel. If you add white maybe think about a brisk ocean scent to reflect the refreshing and cooling spray/ wave?
I like the way it looks, the white wouldn't look right. This is a cool wave pattern. I think I will try one, got lots of time on my hands for another 30 day extension stay home order. Thanks love! 😊
I enjoyed watching and learning your soaps I think they look fabulous are they are i am just a beginner haven’t got that far thanks for sharing I’m from New Zealand
Making this bar right now with a different fragrance and finding that making waves is easier when the soap is still liquid under the thick skin and then letting it settle straight rather than tilted
You can post them on your facebook page and post the link here or email me, my email is in the about me page under my channel. Every time I post it in the comments my inbox fills up with spam.
I really like these! My mom likes that they are transparent. When I saw the video photo, I thought you had mica lines and I was shocked when you didn't have that. You could try it with a swirl, add it to your skill set. I like them how they turned out still! Thanks for sharing! You always have such good videos!
Thank you so much! The photo for the video was not detailed as I could not get the camera to focus on the soap (no defined details to focus on) so I added those lines to show it was 3 seperate layers. Sorry if it was misleading.
What about adding a thin white line in between each layer, or a gold or silver mica line for contrast to set off the layers. Just an idea. Thanks for your videos.
Lovely colours, makes me wanna dive into the Blue 😊 and yes,I reckon some white will make it pop! Oh and hi to the birdy! It sounds like it wants to join in 😃
Yes I think a swirl would have looked beautiful x Still nice as they are though x Oh cutting it’s the bane of my life, I cannot cut straight, I have tried cutters and various knives and I still can’t get them even 😬 xx
I’m very new to melt and pour and I think I have watched 2dozen of your videos. Love them. When you pour this soap what degree is each layered pored at. Thanks
Thanks for the tip! I had thought of that at the end of the video but if I added the white layer I would have to make it the same temp as the color layer so I could use my finger to make the wave. very complex it would seem.
@@DeanWilson Hmmm...good point. What if we brush or drizzle it on? Or maybe place say, a quarter inch of white soap on the short ends of the mold and tilt the mold so the white soap barely covers? Just some ideas but I think I want to experiment. I have a silicone loaf mold and about 4 pounds of aloe and olive clear soap and some three butter. As soon as I get done filming my art videos, I'll do some soap ones.
@@DeanWilson if it's alright with you, I'd like to link your original video and your channel in my community page as well as on the video itself 🙂 After all, I'd not have even thought of it if not for you 💖
Lol...love your honesty...😊 Awesome design & the colors look great. Are you able to put a gold or silver shimmer line between layers to make the color pattern pop?
I think we can only go out to the supermarket and work (if you still have a job). Beaches are closed from what I hear. So im just staying at home. I work from home and im an Introvert, so im ok with it.
Dean Wilson we can have gathering but social distancing. 3 people at a time. Wedding and funeral are 3 people only. They are getting harsh in qld cause people are having parties and stuff and that’s a $13000 fine. Parks are closed but I haven’t heard beaches are. I believe they are but social distancing is being inforced bad there by police. Can’t go into nsw but apparently they is a section near Gold Coast where it’s open and people are... but if we do full lockdown and closes business aka state of emergency only stores like woollies and doctors and gas station and such will be opening. My work will stay open. We are not in public area. We are in a wearhouse and only 3 people work. No contact with public only Australia post 1 time a day. All of our order are done online. So we’re not essential but because we are isolated and no contact with public only via phone and online and 3 people there at max business can remain open.... feeeeeeewie
I just have to be little extra careful cause I have lupus... autoimmune disease that hereditary so they keeping me safe. But if ya get it ya get it... I’m nothing you can do about it really
As for cutting I mark the top and one side, that way I can keep my eye on the blade all the way down the side as I cut, works a treat for me! Was getting so fed up of ruining a good loaf with horrendous cuts 😂
I like the colors in this one. I bet if you did the bubble technique that you did in the other video, that would look cool, too. I have a question about the color in general - so today I finally tried to make my first melt and pour soaps. I saw another video where you mixed the liquid color with some rubbing alcohol in a little cup. I tried to do that, but it literally looked like oil and water when I put the two together. I ended up just adding the color directly to the soap without pre-mixing it. Any idea why the liquid color and the rubbing alcohol would behave like that? Thanks for your help! I fear my first soap literally looks like Dial. LMAO. It's OK, though. Gotta start somewhere :)
Yes, bubbles in this dedign might be nice but only on the top otherwise the layers might come apart. You don't need to mix liquid color with rubbing alcohol. Only mica with rubbing alcohol. Liquid dye goes directly into the soap base.
@@DeanWilson I don't comment often, but I watch your videos carefully since you are not afraid to show fails 😋. J/k I like your melt & pour videos a lot.
I like this soap as it is but a small amount of white may have given that white wash you see on top or within a wave. I think although this soap is beautiful I would have live to see your picture you have in your head in a CP soap to get those curves and curls.
Always love your videos Dean. Was going to order your recommended thermometer from above to help support your channel. It's out of stock with no return date. Is there another one you can recommend and get some credit for click-throughs?

Hi Dean, just found your channel and delighted your using M&P. Love this color comboand I think white would make the othere colors pop! I am new to soap making and I would like to sell at markets. Hi, Welcome to soap crafting with melt and pour. I have only ever used Fragrance oils with my soaps. Melt and Pour soap base will sweat. Most of the time when its exposed to air and their is moisture in the air. Maybe try a different supplier.

Love it as it is! White swirl wouldn't hurt either!
So true!
These are lovely as they are but would love to see the white line look or even black line look in between. Thanks for sharing Dean!
They are beautiful. I love your design. ❤️👏🧼
The like how it turned out. Looks great!
All of your soaps are an inspiration.
Thank you Karen
The white swirl would give it more of a wave look, looks great
Yes I would like to see a little white swirl
It looks like there’s mica line in between. Very nice. Thanks Dean.
IT CAME OUT BEAUTIFUL

Gold in between would be cool. Love the colors.
That would be cool!
I love it. Mountains on a misty day

Absolutely gorgeous!!
I think the white swirl would look good near the top of the soap making it more like a breaking wave. love the colours.
They are gorgeous as is. I was hoping you'd shine a light through them. I always love that.
Looks great! Thanks bc u taught me to wait until the skin forms!
Nooooo! White is over done. Yours is PERFECT! I would not change a thing.
Thanks so much :)
Like the fact we get to see the cut product. Beautiful colors. 🌊🌊🏄🏻♂️
And call me strange, but I love peeling the m&p out of the measuring cup after a pour. I just ball it up and use it myself.
Yes, I like that too.
Love your melt and pour videos!!! Sooo helpful, and your soaps are gorgeous!!!!
Thank you so much!
Gold mica line would look good too
I love the colours
I love it as it is, no white required, try using a different knife or a soap cutter from ebay

I love this! I think it’s a perfect gradient! The ten drops was exactly what it needed.
I really appreciate how you take the time to explain things even though you don’t have to. These videos are very informative and fun to watch!
Glad it was helpful!

Your soaps are so very pretty... Loved this too
I would’ve loved to of seen a Mica line in between the different colors that would’ve looked cool too but definitely love the soap you made!!
Thanks, im not even sure that possible with Melt and Pour soap base.
I absolutely love it just the way it is!!! Great job as always and thank you!!!
Glad you like it!
I am kind of comforted by the fact that you can't cut very well either. I struggle badly with cutting. Even with a cutting box I still mess it up
Yes, im just a normal man :) lol
Rocking up a bit late to the party. But. I like this as is for a calming, rolling ocean feel. If you add white maybe think about a brisk ocean scent to reflect the refreshing and cooling spray/ wave?
Love this one color soap. 👍🏻
I like the way you did it. Although, it would have been nice to see a comparison one with the white added.
Great suggestion!
That turned out great! love the colors you chose
Loved it!!!
I like the way the "water" looks without the white. Perhaps a little bit of white swirl on top? Either way they're very pretty.
Yes, I agree.
I want to see a mica color or glitter line between each color

I think it was 130F or slightly more. I wanted it to slightly melt the layer under it and bond.
Love it!
If you spray the little mica-cup with RA you would get more of the mica out and have less waste.
Its such a small amount it was not needed.
Hi Dean! I would suggest adding just a thin layer of white goats milk in between each wave. Not exactly a swirl but just a little more contrast? :)
Myssah Lee - I thought that very thing myself. It would emphasize the sections.
