I'm a cruiser kind of rider, but I bought this same bike about 6 weeks ago as my commuter bike and absolutely love it. At 5'11" and 240lbs, it moves right on down the road with me on these twisty mountain roads of SE KY.
I'm VERY conflicted about buying a bike, but I'm saying fuck-it I'm saving and buying one. Ever since i was a kid I've wanted one. Kawasaki has been a dream. Wearing helmets gives me headaches pretty easy however since I had serious head injuries while young in a truck accident Edit. Thank you for the review while driving, your honest opinion makes me wanna take this one as my first, liked and subbed brother
It’s awesome bike. I’d suggest RevZilla or Amazon buy a good helmet wear it for about an hour and see if it hurt you. If it does send it back and try another. Thanks for watching
I'm still watching the video right now that's amazing I think I'm getting ready to buy one actually. I race and ride bikes. I have been for years I'm ready for a street bike it would be so much fun I used to race Motocross and I've been looking at these bikes really hard.... I'm 52 years old and I still put 150 MI a week on my bike pedaling I'm a maniac and I'm only 158 lbs. That's why I want one of these bikes they're already super light and I don't weigh anything that would be a fun combination
It was a small dealership running a Memorial Day sale then we got a first responders discount and another discount for paying in full. all the other dealers I called either didn’t have one in stock or where over msrp and I refuse to pay more than the bike is worth.
@@Jdubbsotheradventure I am gonna try finding one for cheaper hopefully I can get like a 4th of July sale or something I turn 18 at the end of July and really want a ninja 400 but they are so over priced it’s ridiculous
@@Jdubbsotheradventure when you are saying msrp / paying more than the bike is worth. Do you include the fees Kawasaki lists on their website in that when deciding if the cost is more than the worth of the bike or not?
Iv been riding street bikes for years (17+) and I’ve never had a bike with front abs. That said I would strongly recommend getting one with abs for new riders. It’s not necessary “safer” but it an added layer of protection against yourself. Example a deer runs out in in front of you with out abs if you lock the front tire up you may go down all because you accidentally grab too much front break. With abs you can’t lock it up so you are less likely to crash. No matter how hard you pull the breaks… Hope that helps thanks for watching
I have same bike in Va for sale now was very fun only put 2k miles on it I’m ready for an upgrade I was going to give to my wife but she really not a biker 😂
I’d put a few more miles on it before you jump into a bigger bike. Especially if this is your first bike. Thanks for watching have fun stay safe hope to see you out there
This is my wife’s bike she had never rode and loves it. I’d recommend it all day long a few other good beginner bikes are the Honda rebel 500, Kawasaki Vulcan 900, Yamaha WR250 if you can find one.
I called different Motorsports dealerships to see if they have any Ninja 400 KRT available. Almost all of them in Georgia have no Ninja 400. One of them told me that they don’t know when those bikes will arrive there and said that a total price including tax is about $7,400. Is it a rip-off? 🤔 Some riders commented to me that we're not supposed to pay for freight and dealer fee. I checked on a kawasaki website and it said Destination Charge $435, Freight and Materials Surcharge $300 but a dealer on phone claimed $5,599 for blue or grey Ninja 400 + $1,000 for delivery and build + $250 for sales tax. I was kinda little bit shocked. Thanks in advance.
I think it depends where you are too and how in demand they are. They are very in demand where I am right now and not the best supply. I think that is why the prices are that high right now. I was also seeing prices in the 7000 range where I am.
The ktr I think has more demand. This bike sit at the dealer for months. It had been discounted multiple times and they offered us first responder discount/military. Everyone wanted the black or ktr where we didn’t care about the color since she is going to wrap it. The dealers know you want the bike so it’s going to be hard to negotiate with them my honest opinion would you find a used bike ,wait until prices come back down or keep shopping around. I think I called 25-30 dealers from Virginia,West Virginia, North Carolina, and Maryland to find this one…thanks for watching
Iv been riding for years and I haven’t had a problem with power. It’s not a top fuel dragster but it’s faster than most cars on the road. We live in the mountains it pulls the mountains without dropping a gear I’m 200 lbs hope that helps
Probably gonna go 650 over this one, because I intend on using it for long distance travel as well as commuting. It's either that, or I'm going Damon Hypersport. lol
I haven’t done that trip. But we have done Raleigh North Carolina to Erie Pennsylvania I think it was 11 hours and it did fine. Mostly interstate with very little back road.
@@Jdubbsotheradventure I'll keep it in mind then. As far as combustion, I'm pretty settled on one of those two. Were I to go electric, there's a couple options there. Wasn't a fan of electric until I got to ride one. It was really fun. lol

I love the whistling sound that Kawasaki engines make. Is that the valves or the air intake causing that.
If I had to guess your talking about the intake put a time stamp and I’ll let you know for sure
Try 11:03. It’s mostly noticeable at lower speeds.
