Ran a 362 with a 28” bar in Montana my first season of fire, and had one on my crew the past couple seasons for newer sawyers. Both ran like champs.

Hearing protection would be wise no matter what exhaust or saw you run. Another thing, get your chain rolling before you touch the log, unless you like jamming up your saw then keep doing what you're doing.

Be curious to see how much faster it runs with a full skip. Would also be curious to know if .325 chain would cut faster. The straight shot is cool and so is the bark box but not worth the money in my opinion. I can get almost as good performance with a simple muff mod and it's not so annoyingly loud. The straight shot is alot better quality than the bark box imo.

It's not a speed difference, its a strength difference. HP gain doesnt feel a lot faster, but torque gain extends the saw's work range/reach. It's obvious when stumping and bore cutting with the bar buried. The saw with stock muffler, gives out/drops off under heaviest loads. The saw with muffler mod can grunt through. You have a 362. My experience is with the MS 400 CM with Bark Box...can do a wide range of work for its size/weight in this cc class. This cc class saw benefits from muffler mod. The mod is so loud, thats why the factory compromises...best performance without the high noise. You choose what you like best.

Try ear protection, maybe that will help the "Loud ass saw'.

Chains duller than a ducks dick or you didn't knock down ur rakers 😅 and she's running leaner than Codeine , but yes a flat face bark box makes a huge difference if it's jetted properly.

I got a used x390 , wanted something to cut grass and snowblower with. Was going to buy a new a new x350 but the x390 was near me and still under warranty. It’s more than I need for grass cutting my yard isn’t too large. An x500 would be way above my needs and for the extra $$$ couldn’t justify the extra cost. Both the 300 and 500’s are well built machines that serve peoples particular needs for many years. . I didn’t want a Home Depot Deere and need to deal with issues in 2 years.

Pros and cons of bypassing the plugged up muffler of all the EPA baffles. Pros. Better throttle response. Increased power/torqe. Heat released faster= longer life of saw. Cons. Louder.
