Aight, so I decided to come back to this video since, for one thing, I was bored, and two, your videos on deadmau5 are what got me into consistently watching your channel in the first place. But for this album, I don’t think I have addressed this here but I’ll say this now, this right here is my all-time favorite album. I’ve gone on record multiple times in saying that in some of my own videos, but yeah I still stand by that statement wholeheartedly to this day. This is seriously everything I love about Joel and his music and I think he truly outdid himself with this one. On top of that, in my own humble opinion, this has the most amount of variety I have ever seen on any album period. From his usual house cuts to his beautiful piano cuts to his articulate and intricate IDM cuts to his straight up rock cuts, the two hour length of this perfect album is justified. From Creep to Terrors in My Head to Pets to Mercedes to Infra Turbo Pigcart Racer to especially Bleed, there’s not one track that I dislike here and this whole thing really truly got to me and resonated with me in a way that no album I have heard in my life ever will. It honestly has been a privilege and an honor to have been an absolute fan of his music since the moment I first stumbled upon the song I Remember as a first grader, kicking off my journey into electronic music as I know it. I can’t really thank Joel enough for not only this particular album, but also his music in general for guiding me throughout many parts of my life throughout the course of many years. This is just simply incredible shit. 10/10 masterpiece.
Sakata Gintoki Ever heard of an opinion? Jeez. I disagree, but I can see where he's coming from. If an artist stays the same their whole career, then they get pretty boring after a while. The reason I love deadmau5 is that he's always changing, each album sounding nothing like the next.
Wow! I love what you have to say about all these albums. In fact, nowadays, before listening to something in the electronic genre. I check out what you have to say about it. Thanks so much!😁
When you say that "Drop the Poptart" is a better replacement for "Seeya", are you refferring to the version that was on Colleen D'agostino's EP or the mashup version with the "Acedia" intro, "Somewhere Up Here" guitar section, and "Drop the Poptart" vocals? Personally, I prefer the latter, especially after seeing him perform it live. Regardless, great video. Keep up the good work!
finally someone actually can tell that every song from 7 is there. One things though, you said invidia, ira, and superbia weren't changed. Every song from 7 in the album was changed. Acedia is in a different key and has a house beat after the intro. Avaritia no longer had a piano part (that piano part can be found in terrors in my head). Invidia had only one change, there was no ambience. Ira's ambience is different. Luxuria is actually Coeacanth II and adds in the weird monotone synth, so it is in the album. And lastly, superbia is in a different key. There isn't a single song from 7 that wasn't unedited in While (1 2)
ah well I'm used to the versions of the 7 EP that were on his youtube, not his soundcloud, so I'm used to them having little to no ambience at all (hence Invidia sounded exactly the same), and also I'm used to the continuous mix version of while(1
I thought both Coelacanth i and ii were fitting and pleasing to listen to in the album, however I thought the 2 remixes in the albums were a bit unnecessary. His best album so far though imo.
I'm unhealthily obsessed with this album....
Understandable
Still

I love this album. My favorite songs on it are Avaritia, Gula, Infra Turbo Pigcart Racer, Phantoms Can’t Hang, and Seeya.
i didn't experience deadmau5's soundcloud releases at that point, so i probably thought it was better than you did, but i find it amazing.
drop the poptart is so amazing and im so pissed it wasn't on this album...
Miika Mäentaus it's somewhere up here ;)
awesome review! love this album

Superbia was in a different key, and plus it didn't have ambience, so it was edited In the album

you should review Project 56 or deadmau5 circa 1998-2002
I did cover Project 56 at the same time as his "stuff I used to do" compilation a while back ua-cam.com/video/Kss9qDpbtKs/v-deo.html
I've been digging 'Anomalies' by X&G recently and think it would be a fun review for you.
I thought both Coelacanth i and ii were fitting and pleasing to listen to in the album, however I thought the 2 remixes in the albums were a bit unnecessary. His best album so far though imo.
This is my favorite mau5 album. Fucking amazing.
If you’re gonna check out NIN you should look into The Fragile!!
coelacanth 1 is great bro
Unpopular opinion: Seeya sounds like Estelle- American Boy
You must get a quality mic:)
Coelacanth (improper pronunciation)
