    excellent, I wish all neffs were as easy. be wary of older neffs and neffs with too many connections on terminals and half moon elements with a fan stuck in place
    Oh and what if the screws are rusted.
    Good vid though if no complications!
    If in any doubt always call an engineer, I've seen some problems caused by DIY repairs.

    I have an U1ACE5HNO, also screws out the back requiring oven removal. why the HELL have Neff decided that was a good idea, was a 5 minute job now I suspect a lot more & not sure I want to pull it right out & mess with the back. Get bench to support etc etc. It may not be a difficult job but should have been extremely easy. I think I am done with NEFF, my last Neff failed a little prematurely, it only has one oven light at the top, so anything much on the top shelf, its dark underneath. The fan runs for what seems like hours after being turned off, appreciate cool down but that is ridiculous. I have reduced to min in menu. I know not the most expensive but quite a lot of £'s. Would have thought they could afford to put in 2 lights. I cannot image they will make money from changing the element, doubt their service guys are used & certainly not in my case if I don't tackle it. In fact as I type don't think I will waste my time or money on this anymore. Much nicer units out there.

    Thank you for the video. FYI if you have a Neff B14M42N3GB/04 you'll need to go in through the back as that is where the element is screwed from. I would not say the oven is too heavy for one person to lift out of its place. It's another 10ish screws but more than possible. You may need a second pair of hands to hold the element in place as you replace the two Element screws. Also, this model was fitted with Torx Screws not Posi. Apart from that, it's pretty straight forward.

      Really appreciate this comment. I would've given up if I hadn't scrolled down to see this, but it gave the confidence to *remove my oven* and take the back panel off. In the end I was able to replace my heating element but unfortunately that didn't fix my problem.
      Still, it was an interesting experience that I enjoyed and wouldn't have had without your tip! 🙌

      If you're not sure if you need to go in from the back take a look at the two screws holding the element in place, if you can't see the acrew heads it's screwed in from the back (like mine was unfortunately, no big deal it just makes a quick job a slightly longer one), cheers 👍

    Hello, I watched your video and did everything you did until I pulled the element and the wired disconnected and I.m left with something that did not look at all like the wires in the video ! I have a wire with a kind of fabric coating sticking out ; and colored wires in the hole (1 white, one red, one blue, one Brown). But when I'm pulling those coloured wires, nothing comes up. So my question is Where is the second part which was connected to the element? and if it fell way down behind, how can I retrieve it ? Any advice before I take the oven down? It's a double oven and it is super heavy !!!! Thank you

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  6 років тому

      Hi Agnes, if you have lost the wire down the back you will have to lift the oven out and remove the back. You may be able to remove shelves and the doors to lighten the weight and slide it careful onto two dining chairs with a friend when you want to work on it. Good luck.

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  6 років тому

      Hi Agnes, it sounds like the wires have fallen into the back of the oven and the only way to retrieve them is to remove the oven if you have a workbench use that to support the cooker.

      Make sure you use a good fitting screwdriver as the screws can corrode and 'chew up' the heads easily if they have been fitted for a while. Also hit the handle with a screwdriver to belp shock and loosen the screws.

    Great video. Just a quick tip - remember you have to re-set the clock on the oven after re-connecting the power. Otherwise the oven will not function and you will worry that your handiwork was faulty!

      Thanks for the comments Oliver. We remind viewers to reset the clock in our diagnosis video: ua-cam.com/video/_lWk22-qvoI/v-deo.html
      But it is good to remind viewers of this video that this must be done on all models with a clock after the power has been disrupted. :-)

    Hi, we have a neff U17M62 built in double oven and have removed the three screws around the element, but the where the element plate is held in, there are no screw heads, just what feel like two "threads" so it looks like the whole oven will have to come out (silly design!) - can you advise? Also, when I put my model number in espares there are no results found

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  7 років тому

      The reason why most people cannot find the parts is they do not enter the whole model number, for example U17M62N0GB/01. If your machine is this model I have listed the element is shown here: www.espares.co.uk/product/es1123970/
      We suspect you have a different model (GB/??) as the part linked to looks like it has holes in the bracket to accept fixing screws from the front.

    Thx for video. The element that I have received from espares has two separate clips where the wires are attached. The original element has these clips soldered onto the element. Is this a faulty product from espares or am I expected to solder these clips on?

      Hi Alistair. Please place this comment with the full model number as a 'question' on the part you have ordered on our website.

    Unfortunately the wires had slipped of the terminals before I could mark them. I had to take the oven and remove the back plate, only to discover three wires to fit onto the two terminals. Could you please advise?? I bought the element fro espares for a Neff B1120F1GB/03

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  8 років тому

      The third wire is the earth. If you get a meter this should show a direct connection to earth. The other two will connect to the element 'ends' and can be reversed with out problems. If there is no 'tag' on the element you should ensure the earth lead is insulated to ensure it does not connect to any other wire.

    Hi Matt, I would appreciate an answer before I start to drill out the screws!

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  8 років тому

      +Stuart Broughton If the above does not work you could try using a pair of side cutters to grip the head and twist it to start it turning. If this fails you may have to drill out the screws.

  • @stuartbroughton5585
    @stuartbroughton5585 8 років тому

    What do you do if the back plate screws will not move?

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  8 років тому

      +Stuart Broughton Try tightening slightly first to start them moving as the screw edges that catch the screwdriver may be more worn on the unscrewing side. Also pre warm the oven as this may also help.

    i have mixed up the wires that go on to the element. what will happen if they are the wrong way around.

    • @eSpares
      @eSpares  9 років тому

      greg young Reversing the connections to either end of the element will not have any effect. If your element has an earth connection to the 'metal work' of the element it is important to connect the wire to this correctly as it is likely to cause blowing of fuses and possible damage if you connected the elements live wire to the earth connection.

    Sites and videos like this, are the downfall of this country. By putting videos like this on the internet, you are destroying businesses. anyone reading this, bear in mind, you will pay a lot more for your elements than what a dealer will, and you will not get a warranty with your repair. So it could cost you more in the end. Plus, just because your oven is not heating, is not always due to your element. Just some free advice to hopefully save you money.

    • @sonicstep
      @sonicstep 9 років тому +2

      WRONG! The downfall of this country Mr Richards is the selfishness and ignorance that exists from the top down. I rely on these uploads - typically from the United States - to help extend my knowledge. I'm a qualified electrician who struggles to gain work in this field because of my deemed lack of experience and lack of 'useful' contacts. I'm sure from your stance that you know exactly what I mean, I've no need to express myself any further. Your charitable, free advice taken!

    • @Stancerman
      @Stancerman 7 років тому +1

      What a complete load of shit you have just spouted there Mr Richards.
      I replaced an oven element like this one with my father about 11 years ago. Its gone again and but so has he now , so i am replacing myself.
      Now there is NO warranty that would cover that period. The monetary saving for buying and replacing the element myself is a "no-brainer" compared to any extended warranty cover.
      The replacement procedure is SOOO simple.
      So what if the dealer makes a few £ or $ on retail markup. That's their due. Its an £8.95 element if you know where to look.
      What the rest of us gain is a saving of £40+ per hour labour fees for tradesmen to do what anybody can who owns a screwdriver. This IS NOT HIGHLY SKILLED work requiring a qualification.
      Get over it mate !

      Thank you for replying, my oven is now fixed. I did have a professional to do it for me in the end,( It needed a couple of other things doing, which called for an electrician). I did clean the fan, and had it all been a bit more straight forward I would have attempted it myself.

    Why is my neff oven u1721n2 element different to everything you see on youtube. It's an upside down u shape, and 1 retaining screw is behind the fan !!! and of course the fan won't budge unlike the video where it just comes off with a gentle pull, 2 hours to do a 15 minute job. Neff service dept wouldn't give advice on how to get the 1 screw out on H&S advice !!!! I'm high voltage qualified and worked on boilers and 1MW generators, they just want you to use one of their parts fitter, or as they call them, engineers ;)
