Tonya Steele-Wade ...there is this series on UA-cam called Tales from the Tour bus. One of the series is Prince and the Time. They're interviewing Morris Day and it kills me when he chokes up about the last time he and Prince talked after the Time performed at Paisley Park. Check it out.
I don't recall prince being copied by people adults and children all over the world till this day prince was a great musician no doubt ,MJ is legendary.
Forget the instruments he could play with complete mastery, his knowledge of genres was mind boggling. I have never seen anyone play blues, jazz, funk, rock, pop, with such dexterity as Prince did. He is, in many many ways, a musicians musician. RIP Prince.
To see someone this humble - he could play all those instruments and prolly a million times better than them by age 17 but he gave them all so much attention - it is amazing really
I had the opportunity to experience an after-show from him in Brussels for about 500 people. He played from two, till six in the morning. One of the best nights of my life. Still miss his genius...
I think he was underrated to us because he was so great in everything but to super guitarist ,they knew he could go toe toe with anyone ,and when I say that I'm being nice he was the BEST
Me too. Hate it. Makes me sad that such an amazing soul has gone. Really wished I'd seen him live. Sometimes I can't even watch /listen to him because i miss him so much. I never even met him but his passing has affected me so much.
True observance Velasquez.... From at least the beginning of the year before his death... He was extremey thin and pale.. But at the time of this video on the Ellen D. Show......he looked exceptionally healthy and handsome as usual.......always to the Nines!!!
Grey Slate......my comment was actually meant in response of what you wrote to Velasques 4 days ago.....excuse my oversight. But I respect the comments from you both.
Prince was just so untouchable, everyone just looks at him in awe like they don't know what to do or say in his presence! Even Ellen who is famous herself, looks nervous, like she doesn't know how to act when near Prince.
Notice he only play music from those days ... His religion kept him from singing those lyrics...... Controversy.. I'm I straight or Gay....uuhh no comment..
Any artist, 🎶musical or🖌✒🎬 otherwise, whose art stands the test of time & whose fan base knows no barriers of age, sexual preference, or nationality, commands the level of immortality that few have achieved. ⚘RIP Prince💜
Pure musical genius. I put his jam session on loop and just go about my day. Love his solo with Tom Petty in memory of George Harrison. Prince really made his guitar weep like a Boss!
Michael Jackson is the best selling artist of all time, true but what I’m talking about is all around musician Michael was merely the voice behind his music prince did everything one of the top 50 guitar players in history fantastic pianist, could play dozens of corn instruments as well and of course engineered all of his music‘s. So when I say greatest musical artist I’m talking about pure talent not just merely An entertainer but a true musical savant
How can't you not love this man? Absolute genius and brilliant on so many levels; so amazing that you can't believe what he does; be it singing or dancing on heels (and singing live- not sample) or playing guitar, or playing with his vocal range in a way that you can't believe it's coming from one man's mouth, or his presence and aura, or his wild intelligence, I mean there is no end to this genius. Absolutely unreal yet he was so real.💜
Glad someone got it.. lol... one of my favorite tunes of his .. When he played our city in 11' They opened with this tune...and I knew we were in for a great night... was the Welcome 2 Canada tour. .
Unbelievable that he's gone. Too much talent. Candy Dulfer backing up on the sax? Really? That shows the respect other elite musicians gave to him. Sorely missed.
Ellen's look though!! I got the same one each time I saw him perform - it's like you just can't even believe what you are seeing and feeling. no words. The band is so tight and funky. this was for a TV show for gosh sakes!! not a big concert...this man took his work extremely seriously and turned it out every time!!
Can you tell me who the fuck is this guy? I don't know him while he was alive and until he was on grammys American can just can make famous anyone overnight.
Yes, I do agree. No one's left for us. I mean I'm hitting 5o now and I can't relate to this new stuff out here. I just sit back and enjoy my old school music a lot these days. PRINCE was it for me too, I'm done. Miss him dearly.
Williestean Carr cuz when Prince was in ur town for A Show.....U felt THE ENERGY...A NATURAL HIGH if u will. Cuz u knew u were in for something GREAT!!! And I ALWAYS lost my voice and broke a sweat...from cheering and singing and dancing along to every song. I caught the last tour in Oakland in a small venue. Jus shy of 8 weeks later he was gone. We are SO BLESSED to have lived in his era of music. #onesong #oneenergy #MRNELSON
I've been recently going back & visiting Prince's catalog of work & I can say that I do not care for a lot of his unfinished work because it's nit done or the songs we're just ideas at the time, be sure to understand tgat I in no way am knocking any of Prince's work I'm just saying if he didn't release the work then maybe they should honor his wishes. I can also say that I have been revisiting all his live work, & you just gotta admit that his royal badness was to me probably the pound 4 pound best in all classes, R.I.P. Prince Rogers Nelson. ✊🏾💪🏾👏🏾💜❤💜❤💜❤💜

I had the rare opportunity to see Prince in Minn, at a private concert he gave. I will always remember Prince. A talented artist so giving, he had a love for people. RIP
Man! Knowing that this man is no longer on this earth, makes sometimes Painful to watch these amazing performances! But like he said, "I Can't Stop!" watching them!!! Really miss this man.
Can you believe he was 46 in this clip?!?! Whewwweeee. He was so Fiiinnee!!! I love his hair like this, his skin is gorgeous & his smile....I swear he found the fountain of youth. I loved this man so much from the very beginning & still do. 4EVER.Prince
I’m a 58 year old man, someone who has seen Prince 8 times, and my love for him is like for anyone else in Show business. My one regret is that my sons never saw him in concert
And that's why Prince was called the Modern Day Mozart. Plus, I would've loved to see Mozart do a flip off of a piano, do the splits, holding a guitar and cueing the band at the same time.
#Doug Myrlie ......... Prince was truly a great talent! But, perhaps some of that jumping off of pianos and such could have caused some of the leg pain, as time went on......... idk. It was an amazing sight to see......... though!
prince does this all the time. He differentiates himself from everybody else to give credit ...so he is gone. He knows he is on fire so he leaves to give credits to anyone else even the audience. That was Dr. Prince Rogers Nelson
When Prince played! It was the Prince Show, Prince festival! Prince Party! Prince awards show :) anything that came on after him was??? Just keep off the damn stage and go home, damn
He is like a star in the sky shining so bright. Brighter and hotter than any other until he goes SuperNova and then its all over. But we will always remember his SHINE it was so bright like no other.
At this point, it wasn't Ellen anymore. It was *The Prince Show*
😂 true
You know who does that now in our world? 🎼🎵🎶 😂
Lol, True!
Darn it it agree WOW! What a freakin show!!
duh
Damn, I still miss him. Who feels the same way?
It's ALL Love yeah, it sucks.

It's ALL Love ..Yep!!😔

PRINCE WAS BETTER THAN MICHAEL JACKSON THERE I SAID IT IT'S TRUE !!!!!!
Michael wish he could play at least one of the many instruments Prince did!!! Michael was talented, but Prince was a musical genius!!!
What Karen-tq6ji commented is the whole point in a nutshell. It is true. Two talented men, but Prince was comprehensive, the total package.
Prince was a far superior musician than MJ but Mike was the Superior entertainer.
Prince could walk all over Michael on a stage. With a guitar singing and dancing doing double splits. Get real, y'all.
I don't recall prince being copied by people adults and children all over the world till this day prince was a great musician no doubt ,MJ is legendary.
Glad to have been born in an era some of the greats. There will never be another Prince. Prince was the Mozart of our time.
Facts! I been saying that for decades before he passed!
Well said!
I love the way he can take a song we've all heard hundreds of times and play it like it's brand new. He truly was a rare breed.
That's the mark of a true artist.
I knowww! Genius!
@@sw9879 the only man that can sing" bambi" about a lesbian, to a lesbian. "It's better with a man " and Ellen loved it.
Let this be a lesson to every inspiring musician! This man embodied music to say the least.
He wasn't funky...He was funk
Fin Regan
He was a Gemini , He was a Gem😉
Fin Regan he reminds me of a very. Young little punky little richard:)
Funky as last week's laundry
Nono, Prince IS the funk

Someone once asked Eric Clapton how it felt to be the best guitarist in the world, and he said, "I don't know, why don't you ask Prince?"
I remember that.
@@ricohodges4020 no you don't cause it never happened folk lore
I believe his response was “ask Jimi Hendrix”
The artist who responded that way was actually Tom Petty.
That was funny
Prince was one of the most talented artist to ever have lived. R.I.P.
See you in paradise brother💕
He is my favorite. I surly miss anything he may have done in his future.:(
Carlos Cruz indeed

Only a minority would say that Carlos. BTW ICE is looking for you.

Wow... must have been.
I envy you for having this extraordinary experience with prince for 4 hours in your life
Envy is something I rarely truly experience. Your comment has made me envy you passionately! You get an angry like from me!
I hope he was sober the whole time you saw him.
Davi..I wished when people say this they would say what year?
im a metalhead from way back....but damn prince was the most underated, most influential, best guitarist/ performer of all time
So true. It’s like Michael Jackson distracted us from Prince’s true greatness. I’m forever sorry I didn’t appreciate him while he was here.
Right! He was always in full control of the stage. Incredible.
Um, yeah...Prince was NEVER underrated. But I get that you love his music...
I think he was underrated to us because he was so great in everything but to super guitarist ,they knew he could go toe toe with anyone ,and when I say that I'm being nice he was the BEST
Prince was never underated
He had a special talent unmatched he is missed ..was amazing
I can't STAND that he's gone!
Patti Moe agree 10000%
Same... Never getting over it
I am STILL......and, FOREVER will be, sick about him leaving....😐💔
