I know I’m late but this is great. My great grandfather was a stretcher bearer in both Somme and Paschendaele (16th Irish Division, 7th Royal Irish Fusiliers) and was wounded in the attack on 16 August 1917. I’ve started planning a similar diorama in his honor and will get a lot of inspiration from this project. Can’t wait to follow the build.
Hi, thanks for that - hope you enjoy the rest of the build. Interesting about your great grandfather’s story, a great incentive to build something yourself. There’s some great figures, vehicles & accessories out there to build a story around that! Good luck with it, thanks again for commenting 👍
Looks great. I'll be following along. An interesting approach to solving the: "I'm out of shelf-space." problem. But I don't think my wife would allow it...
@@Barbarossamodels Hah. I didn't realize this was an old video - I'm working my way through the other parts, as we speak. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing - I do appreciate the way you explain your techniques.
That’s one of the problem that exists with these things...where to put them all afterwards....😩 I’d ‘negotiated’ with the wife to build a frame & put this one inside the coffee table. 17 more are in a display cabinet with 2 more in individual ready made display cases like this one:- ua-cam.com/video/BUGzs80myGQ/v-deo.html But now with the current Normandy one I’ve no more room....problem!🥺😕
@@Barbarossamodels Some might be lucky enough to have an outlet to part with builds. Like Amvet halls or VFW Posts. Friends who want but not build. At least you have the web to show & share your art & efforts.
Thanks!😀👍 Going to try & split this one into 4 parts, working on around about 25% of it at a time. As always it's all pretty time consuming, but will try & get Part 2 moving along shortly..... Thanks for commenting!
Very well made! Can you please tell me where to get more WW1 figures and stuff. I think its really hard to find so I need a bit of help here. Thank you in advance
Hi Karsten, thanks! Afew decent makers of WW1 kits are ICM, Masterbox & Tamiya, amongst others... www.icm.com.ua/catalogue/figures/ www.mbltd.info/models.htm www.tamiya.com/english/products/30057/index.htm The figures I'm using are from Masterbox #35146 & #35158 👍
😆😆 Cheers bud, unfortunately it's always a case of having the time to work on it......, but do try to get a number of hours done a week! Do have progress pics added every so often on 'Instagram' with updates. Expect to get Part 2 uploaded here by the weekend, though, 'slowly' getting there.....👀
Hi...thank you 😀 Do you mean a link to the book shown in the video? That book was a special release exclusive to WH Smith in the UK 10 years ago, so probably isn't available now? But it used excerpts from books from 'pen & sword'...and so here's a link to their site.:- www.pen-and-sword.co.uk/Passchendaele/c/222/order/popular/overall Many of the text & images would've been here.... Hope that's helps 👍
I'm assuming you mean infantry from World War 1...? I'm going to have a couple of casualties on this, one will be from the Masterbox figures, just adapted with a new head. The second is from Verlinden:-www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Verlinden-1-35-Soldier-Skeletons-with-Base-2-pieces-Resin-Diorama-Model-2019-/180720858130?epid=663240478&hash=item2a13cd7412:g:H9sAAOSwpDdVEnSc Available from 'Historex Agents' in the UK for just under £10. I know 'Stalingrad Minatures' & 'Tank' do others, but from WW2 period.....
I know this was a while back, this was one of my main inspirations to do a diorama of my own. It's on my channel if you want to look. You have some amazing work on your channel!
