Playing Mantis did a FANTASTIC job on this reproduction line, adding Kato. The body and outfits are all well made and copy the original well or even better. THE SAD TRUTH, this line did NOT SELL and still is under valued on the collector market. There is little interest in Capt Action today as there was in the past. If people would have supported this Playing Mantis line, we would have all kinds of cool additional figures and accessories today. This is also a note to collectors/investors. Few figures increase in price with a market glut and odd values people have. These figures should cost hundreds, you can get them for $10.00.

Great review, you have me sold on getting one for my Lone Ranger collection. I like you, was turned away due to the red shirt. I know that was the original look for the Lone Ranger in the early comics, befor the TV show. Now, would love to ad to my collection.

A great set thank you so much for putting this online. I originally felt the way you did about the figure and the red shirt. The one picture I saw of the face it looked like one of those faces like the Dakins or something it didn't look like it was really worth the money. I can totally agree with you about the TV show I was not only raised with that but also my grandparents bought me a set that had a set of the belt with the two cap guns that had the Lone Ranger belt buckle. And only got the Lone Ranger Gabriel set because it was at a flea market. My mom told me about the lone ranger on the radio so when a station in California at the time way back then in the late seventies would air an episode of the radio show I watched (audibly) that too. But was so angry when whatever group it was said that Clayton Moore had to take his Lone Ranger mask off. Never thought of Tonto as being a side character to the Lone Ranger I knew as a kid that sometimes white actors were used as Indians and was so glad that this character Tonto was a true native son. Jay Silverheels I think was a very great character actor I don't think any other actor could have been as convincing. Now I gotta get these and the Gabriel ones too.

Oh wow this is awesome. And the artwork on all the captain action figures is incredible. You and I both had the Gabriel Lone Ranger figures... And I hold it right up there with my Mego figures and even Star Wars as the greatest of all time. I know Clayton Moore played The Lone Ranger on television... I believe the other actor who played him was named John Hart? I'm going to try to help you find the Gabriel Lone Ranger that is Museum Worthy. As always thanks for another great video! 👍👏

It also came with the blue-shirt version cause I got them. Playing mantis also made them with just the outfit as it looked in 1967 box. But Playing mantis really pissed the collectors off when they didn't do Superman and Batman. That was a bummer I recall.
MIB MASTER MUSEUM 1979 The crazy thing just a few years ago dynamic entertainment made their own version of Capt Action with a newly designed body and new detailed outfits. They completed all the marvel, but stopped production and never completed the DC line they were going to put out. And there was a really cool 1970's version Batman that they had pictures. So another bummer there.
I noticed a write up on the artist in the back of the box. I couldn’t pause it clearly, but you could check that out first if you REALLY want to know who did the box art.
Wow !!! I didn't realize that this was Lone Ranger's standard color shirt. I remember the Lone Ranger TV show when I was a kid. I always thought his outfit was blue. Thanks so much for sharing this information with me

I wouldn't purchase a LONE RANGER in the blue out-fit because I grew up with a LONE RANGER in the comics had a red shirt.

I had the whole set of 98 CA MIB but I let it go doing some trade deal but the are still to this day an awesome figure
