That video was fantastic. There are videos like this with a bunch of games and no commentary, and other ones where the dude won't shut up. I love that these were super bite sized pieces with editing that showed a nice variety, and some truly awful puns.
I love how you did this! You keep things going at a quick pace in order to get in 100 games in just around 20 minutes, but at the same time, you made sure not to go *too* fast. There is just the right amount of footage and commentary. Major props!
Yes! I've been searching for that obscure childhood game all my life! 12:45 I remembered being so engrossed and frustrated playing that bigheaded character pushing rocks all afternoon. The only title of that game I could remember was "Mole," because it was the title in the Famicom compilation that I played as a kid. Thanks for this compilation! Also love the very chill and concise description of each game!
I have been trying to recall “Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight” for many years. I’m so happy it’s on this list. I never made the connection back then that it was considered part of the famous Street Fighter series.
i had been looking for a NES game that i lost when i was a kid. I looked for this game for many years. Finally today i decided that i will try to find this game. I have tried several times in the past to find the game that i have always been looking for. Thank you , i finally found it. Its the Dragon Fighter . The first snow level is imprinted on my mind. Thank you. You completed a search that took nearly a decade, as i could never describe the game. Thank you . Really Thank you.
Strange that it takes so ling. It's not so rare, after all this is good platrofrem, also it's Natsume so its' must play and hard to miss if you search good retro. I can say that Japanese only games more hard to find.
Everybody forgets Phantom Fighter. And might as well name Duck Tales 2, since it was so rare that few people seem to even know there was a second one (and I think it was the best one).
I don't know about the games, but god Japanese composers of the time were writing their music like this was their only chance to shine! So many great themes in these games!
Dude, great video. Just the right amount of footage and commentary for each game, and good selections. I can understand why some people would want more info on the game, but then it would be way too long of a video. Just long enough to see if it's a game that would interest you and look up more info elsewhere.
This video was worth watching all the way through just to see zooming secretary. Never heard of that one before, it actually reminds me of something like Diner Dash only way before that of course.
Awesome video. Looove stuff like this. No matter how many NES games I play, hear about, and play some more, after a lifetime of doing so, I'm still finding more new ones to try! Some of my favorite games EVER like Guardian Legend and Little Samson might deserve more than 1 quick sentence but just getting them on people's radar's a good thing.
I like your voice. You mentioned Sentai Jetman, while I'd love to add Kyoryuu Sentai Zyuranger (Or simply Power Rangers, that's how we called it in Poland back in the day). A nice platformer with few bonus levels and interesting password setting. Never (I mean, legally) came out of Japan, but translation is for sure available.
This was a pretty solid list, and I know it had a lot of Sunsoft love, but I am shocked Super Spy Hunter was not included in this list, next to Gimmick, the pinnacle of Sunsoft in terms of gameplay, graphics and music.
Between myself and my two friends, we had something like 175+ unique NES games. I have played a few of these and some are my favorites but this list is amazing. I have never even heard of most of these.
Bro, you re my hero. For the past 3 years I was looking for the game I was playing in my childhood a lot, but indeed it s so obscure it s on no list. It s Zen Intergalatic Ninja. I can t believe I found it on a random video after I give up looking for it 3 years later.
Dude, What a great job you did choosing the games!!! You should rename it as THE ULTIMATE OBSCURE AND COOL GEMS YOU SHOULD PLAY BEFORE YOU DIE!!! THE VERY BEST TOP 100.
Still got some of those games on disks that are good, but never seen by others. Other list are just castlevania, super Mario games,Zelda, etc. Thanks for brigin them up. Still missing games like Kunio-kun series and some others that i can't remeber right now.
I definitely appreciate the hard work on the video, I was looking for some fun famicom / nes games to check out. there are lots of fun looking games on the list.
Great list! Actually had a good amount of stuff I havent heard of before, and anyone who appreciates Street Fighter 2010 knows whats up! Plus you have to be the best NES DJ ever! Those chip tunes made a great video even better!
The platformers are the main reason why I like the NES. There are so many good one's like Shatterhand, Vice Project Doom, Power Blade, Mega Man series, Super Mario 1,2,3 and so many others.
OMG! More than 25 years ago I played this really nice puzzle game, it was on a pirate multi game cartridge and to the best of my recollection was called "PUYO PUYO" and I couldn't find it at all, I think I would never be able to find it's name thanks to you I now know it is called Moai Kun. Thanks a lot! (the game is at 12:40)
Thank you for reminding me that I had some of those game when I was a kid. It annoyed to this day me that game that for me must saving money to buy them dissappear without trace. God!!! Anyway nice video, thanks.
I recently got in to NES gaming again. Always had famiclones and I still got my PolyStation from 90ties . Recently got Twin Famicom and Krzysiocart (flashable cart available in Poland, very cheap, 1/4 of Everdrive N8 Pro) and even ordered Everdrive N8 Pro for it's superior capabilities. Will definitely try some of the mentioned in this video games. Some of them I already consider as one of the best on the system so it makes sense that others are also good :)
Dude THANK YOU this video is a tremendous work. Seriously, so thorough, so thoughtful, and utterly hilarious! Thank you for all the time you put into this!
OMG I FOUND IT!! Ive been looking everywhere, watched every fricking video about nes games to find one clearly very unknown game and thanks to your video i finally know! Rockin Katz was my favourite game, i loved the music, i loved the design and ideas for levels but i never could defeat the totem dog in the wild west level and i was sad that i cant play any futher...who knows where the game is now, but at least i found the name of the game thanks to you and can watch the game being played by others and enjoy the music again!
Good to see Magical Taruruuto-kun here. It sure is one of the most obscure platformers, considering how similar in many aspects it is to SMB3, same as its sequel...
very good video. excellent editing of relevent piece of game, great choice of game, love that we hear nice part of music, the comments are actually smart (thought that couldn't happen in this genre of content).. super thumb up (sorry my english is bad )
Everyone put common games in the lists such as Mario Bros., Castlevania, Zelda... etc... Which is ok, I don't know those are the games they only have played or what? But I really like your video because you have variety and uncommon games which are hardly seen, nicely done, you got my thumbs up.
I will also post some other games that are also worth your time on the NES that would be considered as hidden gems/homebrew hallmarks. Alfonso's Arctic Adventure Anguna: Scourge of the Goblin King Apple Town Monogatari: Little Computer People Armed For Battle Arumana No Kiseki/The Miracle of Almana Astro Ninja Man Big Challenge!: Dogfight Spirit Big Challenge!: Juudou Senshuken/Big Challenge!: Judo Championship Basse Def Adventures Black Box Challenge Blade Buster Blazing Rangers Blob Quest Bobl Booby Kids Chiisana Obake: Acchi, Socchi, Kocchi/Little Ghosts: Here, There, and Everywhere/Three Little Ghosts Creepy Brawlers Dandy: Zeuon no Fuukatsu/Dandy: The Resurrection of Zeuon Deep Dungeon III: Yushi heno Tabi/Deep Dungeon III: The Journey to the Hero Don Doko Don (which is a surprisingly good NES/FDS port of an arcade game that also had arcade ports for the PS2, Xbox, PSP, and PC) Don Doko Don 2 (this is a platformer game, unlike its predecessor, but it is also a good one, and it was made for the NES/FDS) Doodle World Doremikko Downtown Special: Kunio-kun's Historical Period Drama!/Downtown Special: It's Kunio's Period Piece, Assemble Everyone!! Great video, better late thatn never(?. Anyway, would like someone to clarify a question for me about a NES video game that I have played once as a child, on one of those multi-game cartridges, I have seen it only once. It was something like a ghost that jumped on platforms, getting into buckets of different colors of paint, (blue, red and yellow), and in such a way and with each specific color, one had to kill other kinds of creatures of the same color. Does anyone know the name? Thanks.
if anyone ever going to play kryons conquest, dont do it, play magical doropie instead, its the same game but with all cutscenes and ending, krions is capped as hell (ending is a plain game over screen, bro).
Kabuki Quantum Fighter, to me, will always be the game that kids always somehow grabbed in the Video Power. EVERY kid who went in the final maze came out with that one. Its amazing that something like that could happen without any financial transactions between the show and the publisher of the game.
Holy fucking shit.. Legacy of the wizard... been trying to figure out the name of this game for nearly 3 decades.. played this as a kid as my aunt gave it to me in 90-92 area... Shit. So glad I checked this video out lol
21:40 Geez after all this time found one of the games I played but could never remember the name. There is only one more I am still looking for and will most likely never find again. It's a game if I remember correctly where you are a pink motorcycle guy fighting weird bosses like a Thomas the Steam engine knockoff and a red car throwing its tires at you.
I think I love most about a boy and his blob on the NES it's the amount of glitches that it has in the game and with those glitches the amount of different ways you can go about beating the game
"Just Breed" the name fits perfect to Fire Emblem games, curiously both are tactics too... kinda like... a premonition of what they were going to become lmao
I played an obscure game once, it was called Banana(NOT BANANA PRINCE) and it was with a very small blue ninja who could only throw stars and not wield a sword. The first level is in a japanese forest, and as soon as you get close to a huge gate, there is a major jump, i could never do it....and now i cant find that damn game anywhere....do you have any ideea ?
That video was fantastic.
There are videos like this with a bunch of games and no commentary, and other ones where the dude won't shut up. I love that these were super bite sized pieces with editing that showed a nice variety, and some truly awful puns.
I played some of these games and most was good. It would have been nice if he could explain why the games are good just a little.
What this person said! Thank you!
Spot on! I always like "no commentary" videos, but this one is a great balance! It's really a fantastic video!
I love how you did this! You keep things going at a quick pace in order to get in 100 games in just around 20 minutes, but at the same time, you made sure not to go *too* fast. There is just the right amount of footage and commentary. Major props!

Best hidden gems for NES/Famicom on UA-cam !
Thank you very much for this.
I have been trying to recall “Street Fighter 2010: The Final Fight” for many years. I’m so happy it’s on this list. I never made the connection back then that it was considered part of the famous Street Fighter series.
Fun little gem. It was inexpensive too.
i had been looking for a NES game that i lost when i was a kid. I looked for this game for many years. Finally today i decided that i will try to find this game. Wonderful list,I play maybe 9 games from that list.
Felix,Chip&Dale,Ultimate stuntman was popular games in Poland in 90`s.
As well as Tiny Toon Adventures ;d
I don't know about the games, but god Japanese composers of the time were writing their music like this was their only chance to shine! So many great themes in these games!
Yeah tell me about it ua-cam.com/video/2F9lMys6fvI/v-deo.html
Do not forget about the usually talented indie people that also make some pretty good OSTs for modern homebrew NES/FDS games as well.
Dude, great video. Just the right amount of footage and commentary for each game, and good selections. I can understand why some people would want more info on the game, but then it would be way too long of a video. Street Fighter 2010 was criminally underrated and overlooked. Lots of great games on this list! 👍🏻
Absolutely great list. Thank you!
There are some really fun looking games.
I should restart collecting NES again...
This was a pretty solid list, and I know it had a lot of Sunsoft love, but I am shocked Super Spy Hunter was not included in this list, next to Gimmick, the pinnacle of Sunsoft in terms of gameplay, graphics and music.
I love Sunsoft, but not heard of that game,
‘Underrated graphically impressive late NES action platformer with a gimmick and amazing music’ seems to be a genre unto itself
This was a very helpful list
Thank you for taking the time to make it
Between myself and my two friends, we had something like 175+ unique NES games. I have played a few of these and some are my favorites but this list is amazing. I have never even heard of most of these.

This is the first time I have heard someone that generates their list, provides a specific game name, and then say, "It's okay."
And it was good games lol
Dude, What a great job you did choosing the games!!! You should rename it as THE ULTIMATE OBSCURE AND COOL GEMS YOU SHOULD PLAY BEFORE YOU DIE!!! THE VERY BEST TOP 100.
This video is wonderful
also Kick Master rocks and I'm glad it's on the list, but I'm sad silver surfer is absent
Thanks.
I had silver surfer on the list but everyone I talked to didn't think it should be on.
┐(´ー`)┌
Kickmaster AND Vice made the list? I approve this video.
Still got some of those games on disks that are good, but never seen by others.

The platformers are the main reason why I like the NES. There are so many good one's like Shatterhand, Vice Project Doom, Power Blade, Mega Man series, Super Mario 1,2,3 and so many others.

Thank you for reminding me that I had some of those game when I was a kid. It annoyed to this day me that game that for me must saving money to buy them dissappear without trace. God!!! Anyway nice video, thanks.
Hi no Tori Hououen. I was searching for that game for so long!!! One of the few nes games that never finished (of the ones that got me hooked)
Me too, but when my brother finished all the levels (yes, you even have to finish the hidden levels), it was really worth it.
Awesome list! Cut to the chase and features loads of games not mentioned anywhere else 👍
I loved the list, thank you so much. You have very good taste in games. A note: Streemerz is an action 53 game (homebrew collection)! Not action 52.
Thank you!
You're right this version is an action 53 game but I think it was inspired by the action 52 game.
Joy Mech Fight’s a very good fighting game on the Famicom that more people should play.
It all makes sense now...Kid clown is actually a micky mouse game...great video
Thanks for the commentary. I think these videos are pretty boring without it!
Thanks! I was able to find some games I can’t remember before.

Nice job! I never heard of many of these games. They're all great. Here's your like and suscribe.
