The man is an master model builder par excellence. I can't imagine any airplane more challenging to build from scratch than a WWI war aircraft. His work should be in a museum .
Absolutely wonderful. I am a professional model ship builder, scratch. When I'm not building ships I love building WW 1 Aerocraft. You sir, are a true master. Your work is amazing. Thank you for years of study and dedication. I would love to actually see your work. Is your work at the Smithsonian Museum? (Where it should be for the World to see) Thank you so much for choosing WW1 Aerocraft.
Absolutely wonderful. I have been interested in Pioneer and WW-1 aircraft since I was a child. So nice to see excellent craftsmanship and the various odd aircraft subjects!
Robert Hardee, because they are not into this hobby, they don't understand the passion and how interesting aviation history is, how technology evolved since Wright brothers up to date. I'm a model builder and I understand very well what this Mister is talking about. they are not toys, they are historical representations within a specific historic scenario. Putting the model together and painting it, weathering it is a very fun process. Hats off to this amazing collection.
I have a bunch of Revell and Airfix WW1 kits in my stach and have my eye on a lot more. I will add the odd bit of scratch built detail but will draw the line at scratching the whold thing. There is some serious talent on show here.
wow i would be blessed to have half of your knowledge about the great war and the planes that flew in it and a collection to match i build model aircraft too and i would love to have your ability of craftsmanship never stop doing what you love you inspire me i want to be building models till i die
you have some really nice model's. i like WW1 too, more detail and like you said strut's,and wire's. ive looked at hobby store's, and there isnt too many kit's from WW1 I had a sopwith triplane once the old Aurora Kit molded in black.
I believe his name was Robert E Lee ? he wrote a book, “scratch building”. He passed away many years ago😢 a master builder. Please correct me if I’m wrong. I’m French, 63 years of age but react like a 10 years old when it comes to model airplanes. Feel good to be 10 🥳
Yes the woman sounds rather condescending while witnessing the work of a master craftsman that she couldn't hope to achieve the likes of. Utter ignorance. She should've been in awe. This man's work is nothing short of magnificent!
0:10 "So people don't know a thing about World War I, yet it was the beginning of military aviation." Fact check: "The first military uses of aviation involved lighter-than-air balloons. During the Battle of Fleurus in 1794, the French observation balloon l'Entreprenant was used to monitor Austrian troop movements." "The U.S. Army Signal Corps purchased a Wright Model A on 2 August 1909 which became the first military aircraft in history." "In 1911, the Italians used a variety of aircraft types in reconnaissance, photo-reconnaissance, and bombing roles during the Italo-Turkish War."
Museum quality. Absolutely beautiful workmanship.

Why didn't you show his Albatross DIII and DV? He said he had them there. You just kept focusing on the Fokker Dr.I.
Did you say you make your own decals? I am looking for someone to make me a few water decals for a b-17F diorama. Thanks, Billy
Are these all built from Balsa wood?

This is taking "get a hobby" to the extreme.
I made a homemade paper Fokker triplane
It'd be good if the camera would point at what he's talking about a bit more.
