How can you deny this band any longer??? Absolutely outrageous. Best band on the scene right now and they're only getting better and better. Cotter is an absolute beast, and everyone else is stepping up their game with every show. Goose forever!!!!
What's your scene? This band is absolute fire but nobody puts on a show like phish
straight facts
@@brianriewerts2546 Phish is on another level to me. They’ve surpassed a “scene” lol, yes I agree with you they’re the best around. Goose is the best within the context of the newer crop of jam bands is what I mean.
@lucasjordan3106 hard to say Goose is not the top 🔥 currently. They are the real deal and will be for the next couple decades without a doubt
Love me some Goose but give me Billy and the boys any day, right now.
The most insane, far-out jam I've ever heard from Goose and easily one of my favourite jams of all time. My 20th show! Best band in the world!!!!!
You're living life the right way bro. I just saw them for the first time in Philly and said to myself "Surely it can't get better than this?" I think my next option is to tour with these guys lol
they're not gonna...nah you right ahah. special hometown night. live music memories last a lifetime
@@grumpbutton Lol absolutely!
@@andrew6226 Haha, they're too good!
Goose, I don't think you can get any better and then you do.
My fiancé and I met Rick this night after the show. It was a dream come true!
There was some extra heat on this rockdale. Glad to have been there for it!
As a crusty old Phish fan who's been seeing them live since 1994, it's nearly impossible to listen to another jam band and NOT at least subconsciously hear and critique them through a Phish lens, but allow me to suggest something: crank whatever Goose show you're listening to through the highest quality, most enveloping audio possible. For me that's my car. The other day I listened to set I of 6/20/24 Atlanta on a beautiful sunny day and it was KILLER. Top notch musicianship, a really nice distinct sound, and Rick has a truly outstanding singing voice, something that cannot be said about our beloved Trey and company. I still place Phish's level of true musical communication and improvisation on an entirely unmatched level, but I am SO SO glad I finally gave Goose a level-headed chance. I will be listening to them for decades to come and can't wait to see a live show. Oh by the way today is the 30th anny of my first Phish show, yeah baby!! Also MAJOR props to Goose for making every show available on Bandcamp at a reasonable price. The mixes sound superb.
THEY KEEP GETTING BETTER! Cant wait for fall tour........ :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
This was an amazing night to top off what turned out to be a a ridiculously good tour with cotter. The band it gelling on all fronts. Appreciative of the past and excited for the future - LFG!!
Could be a top five jam of all time from any band ever
Seriously? Seriously? Take any Dark Star from 1972 to 1974 -- the worst one you can find -- and it is more exploratory and interesting then this. Take any jam by Trad Gras och Stenar, and this pales -- pales -- in comparison. Modern bands are doing far more interesting jams then this -- go see KGLW or Garcia Peoples. Then, just about any UM Jimmy Stewart is better than this. I understand being a fan, but this is outrageous hyperbole.
dudes are escaping velocity, in real time. kind of interesting as a casual observer to see a band who is about to blow up
as somebody who has been using the term "escape velocity" to describe a band that can jump tracks and head off into space with an improvisation jam, since 1991, you using this in the same way makes me smile quite a bit.
Alpine Valley 2-nighter next year please.
Was here. You can’t play this Rockdale at the family bbq. Next level stuff
Challenge accepted
Heard it was good played it at the beach while chilling with the fam today got half way in and turned it off. Lmao. Went back and listened later. Crazy stuff right here.
This is the chaos I crave, this shit is out there.
Electric! I was there in pit right at center middle. It was awesome, good vibes all around!
Same here, immaculate vibes. The whole crowd was locked tf in and throwing down.
Outstanding.
Best Trevor thumbnail yet
I am reborn to this band. Tough decisions were made at the right time and most importantly they chose the right guy for the job. What it was missing, for me was a snare drum chasing Rick all night. You can see the connections happening with excitement each time Rick spins around to Cotter. Great work boys I caught both shows in St. Louis. The band is loose as a goose with the old saying… “The band is only as good as the drummer” ahhem as a drummer, I did not like hearing that, but witnessing this change, there may be some truth to it.
I’m a drummer who picked up bass to play in a band. Drummer wasn’t the best and man when we had other guys fill in it was so much different. No denying the drummer is the most important part after that
Heading over now!
I mean, it’s muthafucking Rockdale. It can’t be anything but awesome.
Gnarly!!!!!!! This one of the most badass dark psychedelic brain melting jams I ever heard in my life.
I love Little Feat
They were 100% tripping last night
That would be sick, what makes you say that
@@josephkaplan8287 well I was there and there were a couple times where they went to black and played in darkness for minutes at a time. Could have definitely beem a "hahahaha were tripping let's get it together" moment. Rick and Pete also cheered on a cup of tea during the opener
Definitely something in that tea… Rick has said he loves mushrooms in interviews before and was obviously tripping during the chateau sessions lol “I’m high on mushrooommssss”
Yeah right. Probably had a bit more cbd and yerba tea than usual
@@1997Ghost You're such a butthurt burnout. Plenty of us love both bands. Eat your jello and take a nap.
Monster Jam!
killer show as always boys! keep up the good work.
That was fantastic. See you at the Amp in Nov.
This was so much fun! I felt like I was the only one dancing when it got really out there though. I LOVED it!!
What a huge change from the 13K capacity sold out show the night before!
This was incredible being there
Home field advantage for the win 🤙💪
F**K I love this band!!!
Cheers, boys! Summer tour was straight heat. See you in the fall!!
DARK GOOSE PHALL97 VIBES FTW
More melty type 2 plz 🍵
The drumming around the 5:00-8:00 minute mark really reminds me of Little Feat’s - Spanish Moon from their live album Waiting for Columbus.
Wow way to go G family those lights 🤯
We need a crew jam!!!
This band.
You may be cool; however, you'll never be bass player for Goose cool!
He’s not cool
👏🏻
Wow
I took five vid clips I'm uploading from last night
Holy Electric Kool Aid
I had tickets to this show but unfortunately couldn't go. I am so bummed.
At least someone shot some video 🤙🏼
You got it next time around
Gooooooooose!!!
Aboard the Goose train
Another case of cameras meandering at key moments of solos. Follow the actual flow of a song or who is changing the pace, but the bass players butt...🥁
Face melting at around the 16 min mark.
These videos are great! One suggestion for whomever manages your channel is to turn the ads off. Nothing kills a jam like ads intermittently interrupting the music!!
Dummy, that is UA-cam... not the band.
NSFW
I live in Europe. I like Goose. Like many other jam bands, I like them musically. But I have difficulty when they act like "posers" and act like stars. Phish sometimes had similar attitudes. I'm "here" for the music, not because you're cute or smart or anything. I'm here for the art not for the artists. Please don't ruin everything with teenage poses...
You are SO clueless, you bot with an Italian first name and German last name. 🍆
Phish simulator
Bot
Not a bot, I just think they sound exactly like Phish. I don’t mean to be negative. I just don’t understand the hype. Maybe they have some songs that sound more original but all I hear is a Phish alternative. Maybe they’ll come up with their own original sound as they continue to grow.
They’re good - but around half of all their jams sound like phish tribute jams for a myriad of reasons. Song writing and vocals are original but I’d like to hear more originality with their jams. I’ve seen phish tributes that don’t sound as close in terms of the improv. The tone, licks, buildups, tension, endings, etc. are all predictable imo 🤷🏻♂️
You people talk like Phish was the first jam band to ever exist…
@@DMSparky They kinda were. The Dead really wasn't a "jamband." As Dylan noted, the Grateful Dead were a folk dance band. The Dead's jams were mostly Type 1 or to flow to another song, with Space being the most out there you got at a Dead show. Phish started in 1983. You had Max Creek and a few others, but Phish took that Dead formula and created what we call the "jamband" scene. Phish made folks understand and see Type 1 versus Type 2 jamming and all of those concepts. Bands like SCI, Umphreys, even STS9 etc. do not ever exist without Phish.
Exactly. My local phish cover band plays better jams than this regularly
@@1997Ghost Haha. Look at you crying. Who's that band?
Masterblaster, grow up
BORING! Cotter's timing is off, predictable repeated fills. What is Jeff's actual point in the band?
Butch, please... like you know anything. Enjoy yourself while you go elsewhere.
Wow -- the drums have actually gotten worse as the tour has gone along. It is fine in the jams, but really poor in the actual songs, dropping beats and then rushing at times. You can hear Jeff trying to drive the time, as it is so off. Cotter's fills are simply poor and I think that creates the problems. It seems like they want to get to a jam, where the time lags and changes are sort of "hidden." The jam, again, sounds so much like something String Cheese Incident did in 2002 or so; a bit boring. It is only the first tour with Cotter, so I imagine it will get better and maybe they find the Type 2 stuff they were finding near the end of Ben's tenure.
That sir, is called swagger. Something Ben never possessed.
@@andrewnichols7626 lol...playing out of time and dropping the beat is swagger. Okay...cool to know mediocrity is swagger.
@@christopherorman5769 How are you Ben? What have you been up to?
So you comment on all of their official posts bashing Cotter? That’s a fun hobby. @@christopherorman5769
@@herbiecactus6687 I've been laughing at this for an hour.
Generic bullshit.
