I like your vlogs and your journey! Great documentation of the sale of everything, trip, condo, home and new bike. Doing all the above in a few months. I'll probably be getting a BMW motobike. Good luck. Maybe we can meet up for a ride one of these days.
Hi, @derwinrountree3027 thanks for your positive comment. We had a well executed plan though we were still moving the last few items out of our house on the last day we owned it. Sounds like you're doing similar... Hope we see you up here in Chiang Mai soon👍
Thanks for taking the time to comment, we appreciate it.. We will be sharing looking around at a few homes and the final selection. We haven't encountered the smokey season yet so can't really express our views on that. From the locals we have spoken too most of them aren't to bothered about it. It can get bad but then logic says that it's the second largest city in Thailand and wouldn't be here if it was so uninhabitable because of smoke. it's such a diverse place and the residents so friendly that it well makes up for anything it lacks.
Looking forward to seeing you settle in to your new condo. Interesed to know how much time you spent in Thailand before you made the huge decision to move there permanently? You look like you are really comfortable there already.
Hello guys, Enjoying watching your transition into Thailand and Chiang Mai, I wish you all the best, you both seem to be adjusting well in these early days... I particularly am interested in your progress, I am a fellow Queenslander heading to Chiang Mai to live and retire in August 2024, But unlike you both, I have been planning and visiting Thailand over the last 7+ years and love the country. Looking forward to your future videos. Cheers 🇭🇲👍
Hi great to hear from you and thanks for letting us know you enjoy watching the channel. We are really surprised how quickly we have adapted to living here. We kind of live by the motto of " You only get back what you are prepared to put in. We have worked and planned hard as we have in business to hopefully achieve a good outcome. Glad to hear you are planning the big move also. Let's catch up for a coffee next August ... 👍
Just over 30k a month. It was a corner apartment so it you will a premium for those, as well as a shorter rental term which was only 3 months in our case. We were happy with the price as it suited us perfectly for the location and ease of access to immigration and local amenities. In Chiang Mai there are plenty of condo rentals at a huge variation in price so generally you can find something for every budget. Just bear in mind for many shorter term leases its money upfront for the 3 months (in our case) plus 1 months in advance and a 1 month for deposit so the equivalent to 5 months rental. You will get your deposit and 1 month in advance back at the end if you've looked after the place. Well we did anyway as the condo's owners were fantastic. We've read plenty of stories where that doesn't always happen.
This is Thailand and yes even with the 3 months up front the agents want another 1months on top to cover damage and 1 month advance in case of overstay,
Hi Shane thanks for taking the time to post a comment. If you find a good real estate agent like we did it makes things a lot easier though maybe slightly more expensive. Depending where the economy of the world is in a years time you could either snag a bargain or be paying more. Either way it's not a bad move to be moving here we're glad we did. Cheers John
First one was the better choice for me..are these apartments free to live in because no mention of having to pay anything,i would be very interested if they are, even consider the second one if they are..Thanks
Short term rentals are more expensive especially in the lead up to peak season. We paid considerably more to get the condo we did. To be fair if we mentioned price it would be out of range to most budget minded travelers ... even more so if you're looking for free ones. There are many vlogs showing other condos at 10 thousand a month or more below what we paid but we liked that one.
We paid more than the going rate for our condo. So if I mentioned the price it wouldn't be a true reflection of what's available at the price. There's a truckload of other videos that cover prices.
Really enjoying your journey back to front, lol. Everything falls into place for a reason👍
We are great believers in synchronicity.
What about the prices....????

I hope you share the process of selecting your new home in Thailand. BTW, any concern about living in Chiangmai during the smoky season?

Thanks for the comment Susan. We have visited Thailand before but not Chiang Mai. We have done a lot of careful research though.

@@roadsandrevelationsif you have paid three months upfront you don’t need to pay one month in advance.

Good luck on your condo search and travels
Very disappointing no prices which would have helped.
Nice video!
Thanks for getting in touch .. we appreciate your message of support
No prices? Kind of useless.

Why didn’t you give prices. If you want to grow your channel. It’s like showing a car for sale with no price. What a waste.
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Prices are so variable here in Chiang Mai. Best just to contact an agent.
And how do you think you will buy a house and land mate? You canr!
Latest episode on finding a home will be out soon
