I’ve seen someone comment this on a couple of Chris’ videos and I think it’s very true “you don’t listen to Chris Stapletons music, you feel Chris Stapletons music”
Exactly....
so true
Not many artists have that ability. He's going to go down as a legend of this time.
Music can truly be how feelings sound.
Brought me to 😢!!
As someone that lives with Bipolar Disorder, this is a pretty accurate visual for what it's like. There aren't a lot of people that are willing to walk through it with you, so this story is so powerful to me. Thank you for reacting to it.
I truly hope you learn to live with this shit. My sister has a bipolar and a schizoaffective disorder and it is living hell for her. Hope you get better and have people that go this road beside you
I too live with bi- polar disorder and God made my husband special and especially for me. Because I have definitely fired away. He’s a good man
BiPolar Disorder is a 24 hour fight. My husband of 33 years has been my never ending supporter!
I'm right there with you. 20 years of standing by and supporting my husband with his BD. Just remember you are a strong woman and keep fighting. We love you.
M in a struggle today. God bless🙏
I've there for the good and bad times...wife is bi-polar married 30 yrs...i love her so much
I don't know how it affects you, but my Mom had it too. She was so brave. My Mom was my hero. Yes Bipolar made her life difficult, but I wouldn't trade her for anyone. I miss her everyday. She passed in 1992 of natural causes.
Living with bipolar disorder is hell. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. The only thing that has helped me is my loved ones who have supported me through all the pain that comes with this disease and my amazing psychiatrist. If you need help, and you feel like your emotions are unstable and running your life, don’t hesitate to get the assistance you need. This is coming from someone who has BD type 2.
This song is about loving someone with a mental health problem... it hits me HARD because my wife has to deal with me and PTSD. Its hard to love and stay with a person who has mental health problems.. dedication is key!
Chris did this vid as sort of a PSA for mental health.
love you guys
I broke down the very first time I heard this song. It truly hit my soul and resonated with me and my constant struggle with anxiety and depression. The stigma needs to be broken.
although the song has fuck all to do with mental heath
He is telling her to hurt him he can take it please don't hurt yourself. I Love county music.
Been there - learned words are nothing. Let them scream, let them rant but let them be forgiven when they are back sane because they know how bad those words hurt.
I love your explanation. I'd never really thought of it like hurt me but don't hurt yourself . Thx♡
You're 100 on this... Empathy is alot harder than most think
Being the rescuer is PAINFUL, especially when you realize you cant save someone from themselves.
No truer words ever spoke.
One of the hardest parts is finding the courage to stay with that person even when you know that this is a very real possibility.
there isnt enough awareness for mental health but this song definately hits home...jai made me cry...bipolar disorder is a never ending fight :'(
Chris Stapleton is one of those artists that can unite everyone. His music is so pure. His sound is for everyone. He's one of the ones who will be heard for generations.
She had a Mental Health problem which is becoming prevalent in today’s throw away society. You feel the emotion in the song. Love 💕 this. Thank you for a great reaction❤️
What a great heartfelt reaction. I appreciate you did this one there are many of us that have a form of dealing with depression. My son committed suicide and there never is closure just acceptance and I'm still waiting for that. I want to leave a quote I read a few months ago. I do not take credit as I did not write this but it is very profound.
Grief never ends . . . but it changes
It is passage, not a place to stay
Grief is not a sign of weakness nor a lack of faith
It is the price of love
Thanks for sharing this quite.
GOD BLESS YOU. MY SISTER DID ALSO IN 1990. IT HURTS LIKE HELL THIRTY YEARS LATER. WHAT I'VE LEARNED IS GOD IS MERCIFUL AND WILL GIVE US ALL HIS FORGIVENESS AND MERCY. SHE IS WITH HIM I KNOW THAT. MY PRAYERS ARE FOR YOUR PEACE OF MIND. YOUR SON WILL NOT REST UNTIL YOU ARE AT PEACE. PEACE BE WITH YOU
Not sure what to say.... 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 all the love to you.
Truly sorry for your loss. Hugs and love to you ❤️
❤️🙏🏼
Chris Stapleton Makes Such Beautiful music , i swear his voice is Gold !
thank you two for making a old man smile. THANK YOU GUYS
My wife and I have been married for 36 years to the year. This wonderful woman has stood by my side through the good and the bad. I owe my life to her and will always love her. That is what this video is really about, standing by those you love no matter where we end up om the road of life.
Country hits deep a lot of times. It's okay to cry. Just means your heart is filled with love.
This is why I like country. Not the new crap today, but the music from then.
Manic depression. When they’re high, they’re high. When we’re low...well.
Baby girl still crying. You're so real. I love you. I hope life is real good to you.
Your wife's heart is so beautiful and it's really sweet how you support her.
I love watching you guys. Chris Stapleton is a remarkable talent and his wife as well. We are so lucky to be blessed with his amazing true talent
Chris music hits me in my soul, hes just the greatest thats it. It comes so natural to him. hes the real deal . I love you Chris!!!
Being able to feel deeply and allow ourselves to feel vulnerable is one of the biggest most important ways we can show the strength we have in ourselves
That pure country soul can draw out the emotions
Not to mention the video is like a well made short film
Never be ashamed to cry baby. I'm a grown man and this made me water up. It's a sad story. and all too real for many people
My husband has stuck by me with bipolar for 23 years, that takes an amazing person to do that. He is my hero.
Chris Stapleton was the bartender in the bar scenes.
No addiction here. She was probably bi=polar and went thru highs and lows. He had to try to be supportive, but he could not be there all the time. His drinking scene was after her death.
I 100% agree with you Michael. Manic depression is a very serious thing. You can't help but be pulled in to this beautiful song and the video takes it to a whole other level. 💘
@@ppalppal5293 My first wife died of cancer - but prior to that she had Manic depression. It was hell on earth. Have someone try to kill them self and then look you in the eye and say they did it because of you. Then an hour later say I am sorry, I don't know why I said that and you cry together. Finally she found the right medicine and for 5 years we had peace and joy. Then cancer ended that and her pain was over. Just love your family and know the loss makes you stronger.
@@ironwolfgaming9632 Oh bless you, Ironwork 💝, I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you truly loved her. I know that helpless feeling of not being able to "fix" someone you love so much. I do honestly hope that weight or at least some of it, has been lifted from your heart. Sending you a big hug.
I read her as being bipolar as well- and I’m bipolar myself, so maybe I’m projecting, but it looked so familiar. That is what bipolar looks like.
I totally agree...Chris is telling anyone who has a partner that is going through the same thing to be that foundation that stands strong, let that person know that WHATEVER they are going through, give it to me...ALL OF IT...i can take it
Manic depression causes extreme highs and extreme lows.
Chris is one of my favorite singers 💯💯💯 I love country. So many good songs. Luke combs is awesome! Blake Shelton is awesome Gods country is amazing
The love of my life has this issue, I lover through it all.
Y’all are a beautiful couple. I love watching you guys. Bless her heart
The song is about loving someone regardless of how difficult their personality is and how sharp their tongue can be and how hurtful it can be AND stay because of how much he loves her!
He is Unbelievable ❤️
Music is powerful. It pulls people together and can rip their hearts out. Cry, pretty lady, it just shows how kind your heart is and makes all of us want to huggle you! Y'all are so sweet and playful together, like that couple, so that part inside you that feels....you're empathetic and that's wonderful. Keep doing you, pretty lady, you're perfect as you are. And that man beside you? What a good man you got there. Much love to you both.
I have been living that song everyday for the last 12 years. I love my wife and I will be there every day until the end even though she doesn't understand how.
I am so sorry to hear this, for you both!! Keep showing her....she knows!! Some things we can't express, just feel....BUT try to get her to voice it!! Prayers for you both!! You are awesome!!
Today I'm struggling...watching how you take care of Jai with no apology makes my soul happy❤
Two big hearts, watching a big hearted song.
Love Chris Stapleton, love country music
Empathy is a wonderful human trait.
Good job on comforting her man. I can tell you’re a good man for a good girl. Blessed to have each other! Thanks for the reaction.
Sometimes all it takes is to have that someone who cares that has your back and even that isn't enough..God bless...
Lol, how do I find a woman with real emotions and a heart like you my man??? SHE'S A REAL ONE my friend.
I love you two. Thank you for your open hearts and showing your vulnerabilities. If anyone reading this feels they are alone in their battle, you are not. Please ask for help. Much love and God bless. ❤
Crying right here with you, no one makes you FEEL like Chris Stapleton
This. Comfortably numb. It's nice to cry at the same songs as other people. You make me feel normal. Thank you.
Ooohhhh baby girl. You're heart is so true, and you are beautiful when you cry. You let your light shine! Much love to you and yours. Good vibes baby!
We never know what people are going through on the inside...always be kind ❤️
and the worst of it is .. him knowing as much as he loved her and tried .. it wasnt enough and he has to live with that .. so sad .. God Bless you 2 much love from Cali
I live how tender and sweet you are to your sweetheart
As many times as I have listened 2 this song and/or watched the video, I still cry. Every single time I cry, so I feel u Jai. This is another 1 of those videos that is hard 2 watch, but it is getting the message out 2 help with mental illness and suicide, so shout out 2 Chris Stapleton 4 this 1. Great reaction guys!
Myra Kimbrough Thank you Myra ❤️
@@HalfAndJai anytime, 💜 U guys!
Reminds me of the Notebook movie👊
This is the only video he has ever made.
I love seeing you guys together, you both just seem so happy and proud. It’s nice to witness a true connection and love people can have for one another. God Bless
Fire away is so emotional and touching. I can’t watch the video I cry every time!
This video though.. I’ll cry to my grave, WOW, powerful words. I was Wrong is another great Chris song.
It was the worst day of my life still i cant get it out of my head wish the hurt will stop
This song is so, so difficult - whether it's addiction or mental illness (such as being bi-polar or manic), and it takes someone who is "all in" to support the person they love. Our family lives it every day and has for over 50 years. Hope Jai is OK...bless her.
Jai, I was crying right along with you, girl. You've got a keeper in that man of yours. I love that the both of you are keeping it real in your reaction videos.
I like yall man..60 year old former marine...yall got good hearts 💕
This is his only music video. It's what he imagines as the hardest situation in which to love someone. Someone who is depressed/bipolar and suicidal. Being someone who helps and saves people every day, but can't save the one he loves. There is a backstory video about this to.
This is one of many Chris Stapleton videos.
You two are so sweet together!
The video was brutal, especially for anyone who has family experiences with suicide/mental depression. Chris Stapletons voice transports you right into the tragedy as it plays out. Amazing how his voice can do that. The reaction was honest! TY.
ima hard ass country boy and i cried...dang ol song gets me every time.
it hard not to cry it sad , you have a very understanding compassionate hubby you are a very lucky to have found each other
Your comments on this vid are exactly right. We never know what is going on with others in our lives.
Awe sha y’all love each other so much and he’s so worried about you crying. ❤
Jai...you have a such a great heart, don't ever change sweetie...you're a strong kind soul!!!
I’ve always took this song as her fighting some kind of depression or bipolar issue. He’s saying “fire away” because he doesn’t mind taking the “bullets” of her issues. Baby, fire away.
I just wanna give y'all both a hug right now. Be well good people.
I don't know about you all. But when I first saw this video, with a tear in my eye, I immediately called my woman to see how her day was and tell her I love her.
Life too damn short.
Gotta say the things that need heard... everyday.
Oh man got me crying. This song and video hits my soul, depression sucks.
The video is so powerful, it almost takes away from Chris' voice.
Chris Stapletons Broken Halo is another great one
First vid I’ve watched of y’all’s. Just wanted to say how much I appreciate your portrayal of a strong and loving relationship as it should be. Good luck in all that lies ahead for you two.
So I have watched a few of your videos now, and finally subscribed. I am an old rock and roll white guy, I didn't know who Chris Stapleton was any more than you did. I watched a video of black folks reactions to Tennessee Whiskey and you guys were in it. I know love when I see it and I know honesty, you guys are both. watching you guys hear him that first time..my reaction to him almost mirrored you guys. Soul ain't got no color and that video, listening to him 'sang' it and you two's reaction to it made that clear. Sometimes living alone has advantages, so no one sees me tear up and watching this one kinda did. and now, basically BECAUSE of you 2, I am now a fan of Chris Stapleton as well. Peace, Love and Live Long and Prosper!
You two are the most beautiful couple! So much love and Jai....jai...your smile!!
The guitar in this breaks me. My mom had stage 4 pancreatic cancer.
This song came out, she said this was her fight song. My fiance can't find it, but he said there were paper from before she got diagnosed- remission papers.
I didn't know. But...my mom wanted his CD played as she passed. But this broke me, this song. It's going to be 3 or 4 years (my memory is horrible) this year....and it's taken this long to he able to listen to this song.
Sorry for the book...It just touched me to see the reaction to this song and this video.
I was watching this reaction and heard you say that there are not alot of guys out that would stand by a girl going through depression you are very right about that. Back several years ago now I was a single mother and buried my only child a month before her 7th birthday. I sunk into a deep depression no one was there to help me family wise. I was drinking my life away on ever clear, and taking anything I could get my hands on until I met a man that saved my life, he pulled me out of the depression and helped me find a reason to go on. He knew I loved the group rascal flatts and found a song called I won't let go, and wrote the words in like a note to me telling me it was a message to how he was going to be there to help me through he also sang the song to me. He and I have been together ever since. Now I sit here today battling cancer and he still reminds me of that song every time I get down about the treatment and things. If you get a chance to could you react to the song by rascal flatts i won't let go.
This song is devastating. I mean, it's a great song but it's incredibly painful.
One of my closest friends took his own life and although it's been many years, I still miss him the same.
#RestInPeaceNickHassler
#FireAway
I wanna give you a hug, Jai! 💜
Dont be afaird to cry ❤❤❤
I cry everytime. Thankyou for your reaction ❤
These reviews are great because you can easily see the love between the two of them.
If there is a Heaven,I hope there is a special place there reserved for the people that have the humanity to stick with someone who is bi-polar,and deal with all those problems while trying to help them. Takes a special kind of person with a special kind of love.
If you notice, the blood on his white undershirt was there from the beginning of this video. Heart breaking! I have an illness that will eventually take my life. Not of my own accord, a neutrophil defect that will one day not allow my body to fight the smallest bacteria. My husband is a detective, su this video hit us hard. One day he may get that call & have to fight his way into our home. He stands by me, makes me fight when I no longer want to. Thank God for strong men!
You guys are such a beautiful couple. Just the way you are with eachother is wonderful and makes me so happy. Stay wonderful.
Jesus woman , you are seriously BEAUTIFUL !!!!
i've watched this video many times and i shake my head and cry every time. i don't want anyone to hurt in any way..tugs on my feels!!!!!! and for the record...you are a beautiful man loving your lady at the end of this vid...love to u both❤️
You hit the nail on the head homie, he said in an interview that this song was about unconditional love.
Mental health touches everyone. Don't ever think you are alone. Tou aren't! If you feel suicidal please talk to someone, anyone, and everyone! The world needs you even if you don't think so.
Where to begin...CS insisted that if there had to be a video, he wanted it to speak on mental illness. CS was the bartender. Now the content of the video, the woman is bi-polar, suffering thru extreme highs, and lows. He wants to save her, and try as he might, he can't, and she finally succeeds committing suicide. He thought he could love her through it. I love this song!! It really paints a picture of what living with mental illness is like. You guys are awesome, keep up the good work!!
If you are lucky enough to not have an internal demon, you can't begin to understand the struggle of dealing with it. When are you lucky enough to have someone love you 100% unconditionally, words cannot express the blessing. I suffer from severe depression, anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD. My husband is my rock and I probably wouldn't be here if it were for him. I love you guys!
Never never pause on this type of songs!
Mental health is a real problem these days..... I have a 29 yr old daughter who struggles with this, I'll never give upon her! Love to see the love you two display...
I hope you two always have each other, I adore you both. 💜
You two are lovely. Kind hearts. 🥰
Jamie Johnson "In Color" and Keith Whitley "When you say nothing at all" classics
Any song by either of those gentleman are golden.
Both beautiful songs. I love em.
I was so young when Keith passed. I had no idea what really happened till just recently. That was so tragic. His music hits the spot every single time.
The Father, My Son, and the Holy Ghost. Great country song about the singer losing his Son
in the early 80's we had a singer, Bob Seger, who sang almost EXACTLY like Chris. He didn't have the song repertoire but the voice's are identical!!!
The only "official" video so far from Chris... He supposedly had a lot of control over the storyline and wanted it to address bipolar issues, maybe he's known of someone with these issues? But a very special clip. So glad you watched it. Chris was the bartender in the clip with such great actors and direction must have been a great experience for him. He's been a long time music writer, with so many musicians singing his songs, and his own performances and collaborations are also interesting.. just a well rounded talent. But as a grandma I feel his wonderful wife is major!! She encouraged him to sing his own songs, and I personally think she's his inspiration, just like the 2 of you seem to support each other.
Good message my friends. Depression many of us face. Sometimes not even knowing it. God bless.
Awesome song..Chris sings songs that your heart feels!
I’ve watched this video like 10-15 times & I’ve cried EVERY SINGLE TIME 🥺
Me too. It’s just one of those songs. Another one that is ALWAYS a tearjerker is Whiskey Lullaby Brad Paisley and Alison Krauss. Though it’s another that’s most impactful with the video. Also Carrie Underwood’s Just a Dream.
I’m noticing a theme here- they’re all country songs. And I’m not even a particularly big fan of country. I don’t like most of it, but man, they sure can get you in the feels!
Same
Envy what you have hold on to it tight do not let go y'all have something more precious than gold never let go of it I love watching you
