I think Lydia is my favorite follower. She's the right mixture of a total cinnamon roll mixed with a bit of sassiness and or Nordic brutality. Seriously, this lady heatbutts forsworn to death.
Ria is also a playful warrior... when I played for the first time she followed me on several adventures, like always I gave her potions hoping that she would use them when needed... she did. On one such adventure I heard her giggle behind me and when I turned around she was gone... she had taken the invisibility potion I had gave her and was gone for a while, then she popped back in and the potion was gone from her inventory. What do you think of that.?
While not on my shortlist, J'zargo is fun to have around, certainly an honorable mention. The main reason that I don't use him more often is those scrolls of his. They burn everything in the area, not just enemies. I always have a follower or three with me thanks to AFT. So, someone is always p*ssed when I cast one of J'zargo's scrolls.
@Ben van der RietI know and I said it's cicero cause it is but then I said inigo is for the meme cause cicero is a way better follower stats wise then inigo But inigo is more entertaining
Frea is probably my favourite follower because she scales with you infinitely but the only thing is that you have to complete the hardest quest line in the game (the dragonborn dlc) to get her.
I vote Aela. She caps at level 50, has 50% Frost resistance (which makes enchanting her gear for magicka and elemental resistance much more convenient) can be a follower, spouse, blade member, steward, archery trainer and gives werewolf ability.
Just started a new play through and accidentally killed her 😭 didn’t realise till too late looked all over the giant camp for her body nowhere to be found so imma just have to stick with Kharjo
you can grab vilkas and farkas yes, but you can also not finish the main questline and have delphine and esbern, and there's more: you can get lidiya, and if you have 100 conjuration you can get 2 dedras along side you. That makes up for a team of 8 pretty much.
I feel like nobody marries Athis, he makes a lovely husband and rly softens up after marriage. I could never bear to bring him out as a follower tho, too scared he'd die.
Married Athis in my current playthrough as a Make Breton Spellsword. He lives at Breezehome with pur two daughters and Meeko and I'm really surprised that I javent married him before this because shes always been a favourite of mine.
Vilkas can actually die though because when I was in the level 20s he got killer by a dragon and after that when I went back to Whiterun Varkas always chased me around with his weapon drawn
I'm using Faendal, because I'm still near the beginning of the game, and I gave him full glass armor. The damage on his weapons are somewhere over 800. I enchanted the boots with Muffle and the "chest piece" with health regen 3,089%. I'm planning on doing this with each follower I use because it's so easy to do and hella fun to have a badass friend just wrecking people with you. @ESO

Honestly... on all of my play-throughs I always ended up with Jenasa as my follower. She is super sneaky and has totally neutral moral values, handy for the darker quest lines :D
My default vanilla skyrim follower top 3 are: Serana, Cicero and Mjoll the Lioness. These three followers are immortal, they can't be killed. If modded skyrim you can tweak mod and make Mjoll the Lioness a werewolf as well in which she can turn just like Serana both turn on the same time as player activates to turn in either VampLord or Werewolf. This is really fun for massive massacre and carnage in Skyrim during questing and randomness dungeon exploring it's giving Skyrim more like Darkish livestyle playstyle though..... Which in my opinion i fell in love with the Elder Scrolls Lore the dark vibe carved within its lore is fantastic though.
Eola the cannibal..great at sneak uses all weapons you give her...perfect follwer for sneaky archer build..no joke me and many of my friends tip her..plus she boosts herself often by eating at her kills
J'zargo is the best follower and you can't change my mind and here is why he is the best 1: he is a cat 2: he is funny(arrogant) 3: he doesn't have a max lvl he just keep leveling up with you making him strong as fuck at higher levels 4: his attacks are mostly shock spell which is hard to block 5: he is a fluffy *boi*
I did until I stopped cause it was boring and repetitive with nothing new...but I play oblivion in its place and I don't regret a thing about it: way better random enchantments, better looking glass gear in my opinion and more dlcs
I wish there were bard companions, and also bard skills. A bard companion that buffed you and debuffed your enemies would be awesome. I'm thinking like the hunting horn from monster Hunter world. Hopefully in ES6! 🤞
Fairly new to this game and I've only had Lydia..... Didn't realize there were other followers until I fought uthgerd the unbroken bare handed. I was thinking of using both on quest but apparrently you can't do that. I'm still gonna marry lydia though.
i love Aela, her wild strong nature is soo atractive besides she is beautiful, however i hate how she complains about any home thats not on solitude when you adopt, its nice that it shows that she has some strong motherly love and care for the children, she worries for them and only wants the best for them like any mother would. But that means dumping any other options including the house you spent hours building. But as a companion she is a perfect recomendation for any stealth build character. And she looks hot as hell on Forsworn armor.
If you really want to cheapen any follower all you have to do is enchant their weapons with Paralyze and Chaos. As we know, followers weapons dont lose charges on enchantments.
So I finally just got Skyrim Special Enhanced Edition for the One and, while I usually sacrifice Lydia to Boethiah, you and your interactions with her make me want to keep her around, if only to yell "Oh my God Lydia!" Lol.
I always end up marrying Farkas and traveling with vilkas since I like to imagine Farkas just sets up a blacksmithing shop while his more battle seasoned brother keeps his mate safe on quests(or marrying marcurio but since his entire personality just vanishes when you marry him I leave him at home.. Such a shame. I married him for his sass and he turns into a soy boy..)
Resto glitch is really only for damage, since I believe there may be no cap, however, a million armor rating is just a number. All your total armor pieces worn at once has a cap of around 650. Meaning you'll ignore 65% of melee damage at most. Why they didn't think to cap damage is an obvious oversight, making wearing armor useless because you only need to survive long enough to get in one hit. Now if you use the glitch to enchant jewelry to give virtually unlimited health/stamina/magika..etc., then everything is for aesthetics only as you could go through the game in your undies with a vanilla un-improved iron dagger.
