Nothing can beat for me , the joy nervousness excitement of watching this match 24 years ago ,late night on television in india. Wat a game. Wat an adrenaline rush. Brian Charles Lara, this generation missed the chance to witness u.
Brian Charles Lara, a distinguished striker of the ball and arguably the best batsman the game has ever seen. The way his opponents would rejoice when they got him out cheap, you'd think they'd won the game. Impeccable timing, poise and class, that was Brian Lara.
❤well said and well OBSERVED.
Better than Sachin?@@petergreen5337
"Brian Charles Lara" greatest left handed batsman the world had ever seen!
Mad respect for the "Prince of cricket".
@@yoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyoyo8670, the best right handed batsman after bradman was viv Richard.

Cricketers were sportsman, cricket was pure and genuine...those were the days ...when cricket was 24k gold
Yup loved this era. Cricket was life back then
This made tears of joy 😭 came out of my eyes, Brian Charles Lara 🇹🇹🏏 is my Hero ... I wish the current West Indies team bring back victories like this for the Caribbean .❤️❤️❤️
Lara is my hero too i love him soooo much
KHAN🤮🤮
They did it again yesterday
West Indies of those days was a dream team.
❤
2:50 Courtney Walsh 😂 This is the only time I've ever seen a batsman give it the big fist pump for a no-ball 😂
This inning of Lara is one of the best ever and will remain as such in test Cricket.

Windies recreated the same magic in Gabba today. What a turnaround.
Yes fantastic and they best Joe Roots England 18 months ago

1999 Aus vs WI series was in my opinion the greatest test series I have seen, even ahead of 2005 Ashes. We Australians always had a huge regard for Ambrose, Walsh and of course Lara. All three greats of the game who you could never rule out that they could steal victory from you.
Yet y'all booed at them when they toured Australia
@@hero-rj9zu I don't recall the West Indies ever being booed. Maybe there was a few specific instances due to some on-field event, but it was never a common thing. People used to love seeing the Windies tour.
Nah. WI were never booed in Australia, even when we were top dogs. In fact, the only places Brian Lara has ever been booed have been in the West Indies: sabina 1999, the second innings of the Bridgetown test that followed and Bourda in guys in 2003 vs the Aussies again. On every occasion he responded with centuries
@@soulsphere9242 Oz crowds boeed every visiting team
@@hero-rj9zu we boo Indians only and we'll continue to do so
What a moment to cherish...Brian Lara...what an outstanding knock...one for the ages!
This was vintage Lara. Coming off a disastrous series against SA, he was put on notice when he played a great 213 and then this . An innings for a lifetime.
Yeah that SA series was something wasn't it? Even worse than the rollicking against Pakistan.
Fantastic batting by Walsh. Him surviving five balls on the trot is nothing short of a miracle.
True genius lara
Walsh is more famous in Middle class hindu Indians than in his own country and in his own family
Fc
@@macdeep8523 I guess that is because lower class Muslims used to be scared of Walsh.
Absolutely walsh was an absolutely legendary fast bowler who didn't like to bat at all.
7:20 Test cricket is never dead, it is alive till now and will always be and will always be the best format of cricket.
I watched this innings live and was in tears.
Lara was the best along with Sachin those days.
I remember standing in front of the TV in shop with many others, holding our breaths while our hearts beat so fast, afraid that any moment the last wicket will fall. But Walsh held out long enough for WI to win
Steve Smith was inspired by how Walsh leaves the ball 😂

Who said test is bore ? Look at this legend - LARA. Last 9 balls are just thrilling .
Brian Lara, the greatest match winner in the history of cricket.

Brian Lara- The legend ❤
Carribean cricket is always special. Brian lara is impeccable
Greatest Batsman In Crickets History days like these can't be forgotten, magical!
For my money the greatest test match innings of all time to win a test match no doubt about it what a absolutely magnificent innings from the genius bat of Brian Charles Lara unforgettable.
I remember this like it was yesterday.❤❤
No words to express... In front of top bowling squad n that to at the top of their career..... No other match even come closer to this one.....always Great Brian Lara
This 18 mins of cricket is 10 times better than this years odi world cup
Nowadays we rarely see the spectators running into the stadium. We miss the golden days of cricket.
Now all stadiums are with huge fence ment for not running to the ground. I think that is an international requirement for yhe stadiums
Intense, pride and passion that's what cricket meant back then....miss this
I remember this test match like yesterday. It was the most intense moment, even by watching now after so many years.
All the credit goes to Walshe for staying cool and calm in all the Australian attack.
Walsh was officially a better bat than Josh Hazlewod 😂
This has to be one of the top 5 test matches in the history of the sport. Brian Lara and Steve Waugh scored their runs against pace bowling of the highest order. All the protagonists in this match(with the exception of warne) who turned out to be(in the case of ricky ponting) or already were greats of the game, had an exceptional match. That doesn't happen in test cricket very often
@1:02, "This is not the sight that West Indies fans were hoping for...". The way Walsh is coming out gives the feeling that he forgot a few things like pad, gloves or even bat ;-). Best thing, he survived the 4 crucial balls.
I hv completely lost interest in cricket in the last few years. It is just these videos of the past that I watch every now and then
Same here brother
It has become absolutely crap these days
I'm sure the past few days have given you some hope.
You sounds just like some women though. When the money flowing you will stay but as soon as he lost his job you done and gone.😂😂😂 While I'm not happy now they are losing I will continue to support them and I don't only watch cricket when WI are playing like some do. I've seen India skittled out for just 36runs in a test, yes 36 and England too under 50 I think and WI were out for 47 against PK in Sharjah. I'm sure they are others.
Chicago bulls is not the same now that MJ and the others are not around but if you see the stands when they are playing ...that's called support and fans and they don't even make playoffs. So Continue to watch those were the days and and enjoy 👊👊
Maybe you have lost interest in cricket itself because the Test cricket in the last decade or so has been excellent, best I've ever seen.
Dont be afraid your team win last test against ustrailiya
The dive of Michael Slater . What a character he was
Truth. Spine chilling. Phewww
Golden days of my favourite team West indies
A bit of the bronze days but I get your point. That Lara is the greatest.
One of the greatest test batsman of all time..❤
The nerves then and now. Well batted Ambrose and Walsh
Best cricket series off all times ,aired night to dawn in indian timezone, still has memories of this match at west indies❤
The best innings ever in test cricket played by the best batsman in test cricket
Lara is the greatest batsman the game has ever produced.

The great Bryan Lara,, thanks for these moments in cricket,,, most excited time in test cricket,,,,
Malcolm Marshall embracing Lara at the end must have been close to the last public appearance of the great man.

Brain Lara indeed what a legend that West Indies cricket ever gonna have to be.....!!

Very glad I watched this. Thank you.
Let's gather who hate cricket these days!
True
True!👍
I am watching this after the historic win at Gabba in 2024
Nail biting finish how exciting
What a golden era it was. Watched it live. Watching it again is reliving those memories. Amazing feeling
Test cricket is always a gentleman 's game . No T20s can match that . All legends playing in a dignified way . Its a treat to watch.
This is why I rate Brian Lara above Tendulkar. How many times would Sachin be in a position like this?
No daut in Lara but Sachin have different types of team mates, Sachin have dravid, laxman, Ganguly, shewag that's why most of his career never faced this kind of situation..😊
@@rajeshkumar-2410 so true. Lara played on a weak team his entire career. Never had the liberty of someone with similar skills before or after him and the bowlers knew that.

Many times
@@sevecheverria3592Lara had far better pace bowlers in his team.
Oh, how I miss those days ❤
Watching tailenders with 0 batting skill try to save a close game had its own entertainment factor during the 90s. Batsmen like Walsh, Ambrose, Muralitharan were warriors.
Golden days of cricket
I remembered this game like it was yesterday. I was 13 years old, my mom and I were screaming at home when we one. I still want to know what Lara told Walsh. What a beautiful game it was. Salute to our legends!
This is geneious of Brian Lara
❤yes indeed
West Indies cricket board - do whatever it takes but please please bring back the glorious WI cricketing charms. We need it, the cricketing world needs it badly. It’s a big missing part.
Love and best wishes from India ❤❤
I saw this match live on TV at midnight. One of the best test innings on a treacherous pitch one can imagine. Look at the confidence with which Steve Waugh dealt with the situation.
Enjoyed the celebration and appreciation most. ❤
This match revived westindies cricket after humiliating 5-0 loss against africa..& 1st test loss against Aussies...Brian Lara got his captainship back after match winning knock...Legend
But windies test cricket died after home series humiliation by England in 2004
Lara was really good good good
I remember that match like it was yesterday. That was a great knock by the great man..
Brilliant Brian Lara my favorite bat man 🏏
Dis his the best match i hever seen
21 years now, still nobody could beat highest 4th innings chase by West Indies, which is 418 runs against Australia in 2003...wat an era that was for west indies, they were the first real world champions
Courtney Walsh is great cricketer and good human being.
Everyone will remember Walsh and Lara, nobody will remember T20 sloggers playing reality TV cricket in the UAE or India.
Agreed 💯💯💯
Another fun fact. This chase remains the highest successful chase at Kensington Oval. It’s not an easy ground to chase on. Also, nobody in the second innings scored more than 50 with the exception of the Prince
BC Lara, all-time legend here.
But never forget Courtney Walsh's heroics. The day he became an immovable object.
One of 'the' great Test matches.
15 mins of only cricket and no nonsense in between. Lara is a diamond 💎 of cricket and he will shine for ever and ever 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤
Lara is great but 1/2 the credit must go to chanderpaul otherwise he would not have done as much as he achieved chanderpaul the best ever
Brian Lara, what a batsman. Sachin, sehwag, kholi, Anwar, Inzi no one is even closer to him
The halcyon days of West Indies cricket. Oh, how I miss those days!!!

Who came back here after Shamar Joseph led West Indies to victory in Sydney?
Pre T20 era was good for the cricket… even 50 overs matches were good to watch and the matches like these one were always gems to be reminded in the hearts of one and all.
When being a windies supporter was nice. I no longer bother with cricket. Big up lara for giving great childhood memories!
