This Place in History: Vermont's Highway Sculptures

  • As you drive along I-89 or I-91 in Vermont, you might notice a series of strange blocks of concrete or marble at the various rest stops throughout the state. As it turns out, those are works of art, created as part of two International Sculpture Symposiums in 1968 and 1971. Vermont Historical Society Executive Director Steve Perkins and ABC 22 & Fox 44 Anchor Mike Hoey make a pit stop I-89 to learn about the sculptures and their immediate future.
