- A song about the wildness of love....
Love me, love me, love me, love me,
say you do
Let me fly away with you
For my love is like the wind,
and wild is the wind
Wild is the wind
Give me more than one caress
satisfy this hungriness
Let the wind blow through your heart
Oh wild is the wind, wild is the wind
You touch me, I hear the sound of mandolins
You kiss me
With your kiss my life begins
You're spring to me, all things to me
Don't you know you're life, itself!
Like the leaf clings to the tree,
Oh, my darling, cling to me
For we're like creatures of the wind,
and wild is the wind
Wild is the wind
Wild is the wind
Wild is the wind
Wild is the wind
Absolutely stunning....what an amazing voice ❤️
🖤🖤🖤 R.I.P. 🖤🖤🖤
I was listening this, not the original, after the death of a loved one. Some people, I think, can not handle the large ammount of talent they carry and how beautiful they are. I believe that they belong among all the great poets, like Bauntlair and Rempau, who couldn't cope with their greatness. I bet Billy and Edgar are the best pals now, wherever they are. Tony, Kavala, Greece.
This song is so good, makes me sad to think he ended his life. R.I.P
Beautiful, I knew Billy in Dundee in the late 70's and into the 80's , I bought great clothes in his shop, and saw him live at the art school. Lovely gentle man and a truly massive creative talent. Sorely missed. X
That's a lovely story....I love to hear about Billy....such a cheeky chap! Whenever I feel a little down I watch '18 carat love affair' on TOTP, where he teases Martha with the heart shape box of chocolates!
Frank Higgins Such a person who will be an angel. He possessed that something that only few do.
The Crypt ! His clothes shop. Originally on Princess Street in The Stobbie , Dundee before he relocated to the Wellgate Centre in Dundee - just doon the road. I shopped in both stores and always had a blether with Billy when in there. He was incredibly stylish and such a talented vocalist who probably holds the world record for the most expensive taxi fare ever. I'm sure you know that story !!
Completely distracted by the fact that I recognise this stretch of railway - it starts just before Southall and ends just after Ealing Broadway on the line going into Paddington.
Well spotted - filmed this a while ago when it snowed
Love the film it goes so well with the song. Makes me think of his 6 journeys up and down to London before he died.
there's a certain vulnerability in Billy's voice that makes his interpretation of this classic, the most exquisite of all. A beautiful talent taken from us too soon. Rest in peace Billy you are so missed.
What a WONDERFUL singer Billy was. RIP and love Billy.
Simply awesome
Yes his voice haunts me everyday....a tragic way to go....I often wonder what he would be doing now had he not taken his own life.
I agree, but I do think he was a fragile soul. The family have had more than their fair share of tragedy
What an amazing singer . So sad that he died so young
Love this. Billy was wild, and this captures some of that.
OGWT used to do videos like this.
This is so fitting. We miss you Billy MacKenzie
Thank you, I wanted to capture a little of Billy’s wild spirit in the movement of the landscape
@@PainsInTheHeart You've definitely managed it. Excellent!!
stunning.....billy ...we miss you...x
It's the complete freedom and emotional abandon he sings with that gets to me - especially the high notes. He sort of tees you up. And I agree with the sentiments of some of the earlier comments, that he was a genius, which wasn't fully appreciated by more of the world or manageable for him. However, the posts here suggest otherwise, and their is and deep legacy that is appreciated. I prefer this over the original, which surprises me because it is very acoustic.
staggering voice a unique talent sadly lacking now in current music
What a voice - I often think of all the amazing music he could’ve made if he’d still been with us. Should have 100 times more recognition than he received
One of my favourite Bowie songs, and the best cover I've ever heard of it, I doubt anyone else could have done it justice as well as Billy, outstanding, I think David himself would have been proud of this
Yes, totally agree....his voice is sublime
best cover ever. Billy sings this song way better than anyone.
This song was already old when Bowie covered it, check out Nina Simone's rendition for example. This is a beautiful cover anyway.
I didn't realise it was a cover by Bowie, I listened to Nina's version, outstanding, ty for the hads up
Not a Bowie song. He covered it too. From the 1857 film WILD IS THE WIND with Anthony Quin and Anna Magniani .
This is almost as good as Bowie’s version
Love this film with the music so haunting.
Thank you
beautiful song+video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Enchanting.
Sublime xx

This singer actually died in 1997. Billy MacKenzie sang with the band, Associates, as well as other collaborations and solo projects.
Is the one of The Associates duet?
