Do you need to bleach the system?

      Good morning ☕️
When installing a new tank, we recommend performing a full bleach process. Below is a link to a video showing these steps.

I also want to ask, I followed the directions on installing the filters in the correct manner or in the correct order. And it was still running slow. My water pressure has not changed.

Thanks for the additional info. Is this a brand new installed system or just new filters and membrane?

Why not add air to the tank?

      Good morning ☕️
You will want to ensure that the tank psi is properly set to the manufacturers recommended psi prior to installing it and allowing water to enter tank.
In our case, the recommended tank psi is 5-7psi.

How often do you replace the tank? It doesn't give you a recommendation on the AO smith manual. They only tell you to do the filters every 6 months

Thanks for watching, great question. A tank replacement is uncommon however some people, including ourselves, ran into having to replace it.
In our case, the tank bladder just couldn’t hold up as long as it’s expected too. Some will say that it’s common to experience a tank replacement around the 7-10 year time frame…again, uncommon.

I was barely getting any water out of the Spicket. I decided I was going to replace the tank. When I was trying to remove the water hose from the tank it started spreading water everywhere so I screwed it back on. Does that mean my tank is OK??

Thanks for watching, any update? This can indeed be due to a faulty tank however not always.
Sounds like your tank still had lots of pressure which is a good thing. There might be a clog somewhere else in the lines or filters.

How often do you recommend to replace the water tank? Once a year or two?

Good morning, just poured a cup of coffee and am sitting down to answer any and all questions for the DIY community.
Most people don’t replace tank until it fails…which can be many years. In our opinion, replacing tank is a good preventative maintenance item around the 5-7 year point. Hope this helps.

Thank you for the detail answer. I am just concerned about growing moss inside the water tank but I think you can sanitize it from your other videos. @@DIYwithMichaelBorders

Did you throw away the first tank of water? Or are new r/o tanks clean on the inside and ready to go?

Thanks for watching, we performed the setup followed by the 24 purging. After that, we allowed system to pressurize and probably only disposed a pint glass of water before drinking from system moving forward. Hope this helps.
