I don't know how to express this aloud, it's probably a feeling only a parent could understand. The night my son was born, I swore to myself I would do whatever I had to do to die before him. My wife and I put everything we had into this kid, and I couldn't imagine losing him for something so senseless. These guys may be on the wrong side of history, but they have parents too. A lot of suffering and pain on both sides. None of this had to happen...
This is the first war that I know of, where public opinion feels bad for the soldiers on both sides, and sympathizes with the men being sent to die for nothing other than poor leadership. Rip to the Russian and Ukrainian men that have fought bravely and died. Hopefully this needless conflict ends soon and saves Ukrainian citizens, Ukrainian troops, and Russian troops who don’t want to be there as well.
One thing is certain, no matter what happens, the Ukrainian resistance will never disappear. Capturing cities is one thing, retaining them is an entirely different thing. Capturing an entire country with a 'never say die' attitude will be very difficult unless you flatten entire cities with bombs.
Ukraine people with their bravery and determination have been defying all odds and not only standing strong against bigger number and military power but also pushing back, it’s incredible. The world will forever know of Ukraine after this.
Let’s hope the Ukrainians will be able to help themselves to a lot of the weapons and vehicles the Russians have left behind

As a vet I’ve come to realize there’s not much worth to die for in modern wars. Soldiers die for politicians and their desire to get richer.
