Greetings from Texas. Excellent build by the Widowmaker. I have been working on this race for a couple of months without success. I put this build in and hot lapped it a few times then went for it. Took first place with a clean race bonus, fast lap 2:11 overall time 27:30ish. I did this on a hand controller but as you said I had to smash the cookies out of it (funniest racing term I have ever heard). My opinion is the simple chassis with brutish engine is the key. Again great work and many thanks, made this old retired Texan very happy.
Thank you so much for sharing this build. I was doubting my driving while I was doing this race for the first time. Really had a lot of trouble keeping my car out of the wall. The dynamics of this build are really beginner-friendly and taught me a lot about car setup that I never knew about before. I needed to make some adjustments because some stats were re-balanced since this video came out. You were a huge help.

I couldn't get better than 10 places when I tuned the car according to yours I finished the first race first and with the fastest lap of 2:09. Thank you. Car is a beast!!!
Just found this and even I was able to win this race with this car. Was surprised how much grip this car has on sports hard tires with that much power. Great video, it was extremely helpful. I had to lower the power output slightly to get it under 600, was at 607 with all settings like yours, but didn't matter, car still goes well over 200 mph and handles very well.
You had rear aero fitted that made the pp to high I’m guessing. This is one of my most watched video and I’m glad you found it!
This set up works pretty well. Tip: For the first 7 laps run 4 Lean on fuel, it will keep you up in the middle of the pack and let you run the 7 laps. After pitting change tires and fuel a little more than necessary (Very Important). For 4 laps run 2-3 Lean. And on the final lap run 1-2. You will have just barely enough fuel to cross the line but it should give you plenty of boost to both get in first and get a 5-10 second lead.

I did something different on the setup but your video really helped me a lot.
I use medium sport tires and some differences on the suspension with total fully managed.
This race is hard and I am playing on hard mode.
You’re playing the game the right way. The game changed with update 1.49, so you were right to make the adjustments. Good job and well done.

Pretty quick, will try, I'm usually running Impreza 22B-STi '98 for this race, laps around 2:08, fuel on power the whole race, pit on the end of 6th, best time I did was 2:07:134
That a decent lap time in the 22b. Another 4WD car that hits the mark, a pleasure to drive and very capable. Keep at it!!
I got a lap time of 1:53 and my total time was under 25 minutes.

Great video and commentary yet again, great car to use, I set up yamanaka's supra last night, good solid drive, and also Miyazono's Subaru, fully loaded, sounds absolutely epic, both not as quick as the GTR tho. I never used to like Tokyo 600 grind but watching your set ups etc I'm addicted to it now. Well done sir , keep em coming.
Exactly the same as you.. hated it but with this approach so much more enjoyable. And the setups are not complicated. You don’t need to tune suspension, just the lsd mainly.

I tried Kokobun,s RE RX7, you can't do much to it, you can win with, buts its not a fast car, its a very interesting race with it, be interesting to see what you can do with it, and what about the lambo ?, haven't tried that one yet, great channel Mr widowmaker

Just tried Mr Haywood's lambo, aero, low wing, lsd, wide tyres, manual gearbox at 340 to help fuel milage,and a bit of balls to bring it under 600pp, best lap a 2.08 dead, overall time 26.46, good solid car
Sounds like a competitive piece of kit!!! I’m also looking at the McLaren for this race.

I can't believe it. I tried everything and closest I ever came was second.
I tried my Radical, epic failure, no speed on the straights
I tried the BAC mono, slightly better, but still 10 seconds per lap behind.
Then I tried a Viper GTS, faster but uses to much gas.
Then a Ferrari F12. Uses to much gas.
I managed to place second on a Eckert’s Rod & Custom Mach Forty.
I finally tried just for fun, with zero expectations, a showroom Stock Ford GT with 2 lbs of ballast.
It's difficult to drive fast, but none of the rivals can match the old Ford s heroic straight line performance reaching 210 mph by the end of the straight. Of the curves is decent. I still managed to run that fastest lap.

I am doing something wrong, but I cannot figure out what it is. I cannot get the front downforce lower than 110. The car is equipped with front, side, and rear aerodynamics, as well as a high wing. Everything else is the same as your build. My pp is 617.05.
Do you have any idea of what I might be doing wrong?
It seems like you have the wrong front splitter on maybe. Choose the lower level rear valance.
in my experience the best rest valance always adds a lot of pp.

How do I unlock the Aerodynamic settings? After buying a new 2017 GTR and getting most of the parts, I find I can’t set the Rear Downforce to 280 because I can’t select it. What do I need to enable that?
I just beat this race with ccapachino engine swap wide body down force and traction control on max to keep tires from burning out rain intermediate tires until the 3rd lap when track gets kinda dry then racing medium for the rest of the race, oh and I rode the wall off the first turn on every lap helped me alot

First time watching, nice vid! Still new to tuning cars in this game, my tune doesn’t match your pp for some reason, could it be because of the downforce? I don’t have the exact downforce as you bc I don’t have the same wing, I believe mine is smaller. Also the carbon propellor shaft, where do you buy that? I don’t seem to see it in the shop. Thanks!
High level rear wing, with 20 end plates. The carbon prop shaft is a lvl 50 plus item so cones with the extreme card when you get to lvl 50z you don’t actually need it.
I don’t use widebody ever and I don’t use rear lower aero.

@@WiddowmakerWho that may be the case then, because I do have a diffuser equipped. I’m new so I thought the wing and splitters and stuff were just for cosmetic purposes. Guess I was wrong. My downforce only goes down to 110 in the front whereas yours went to 60. I will remove the diffuser and see what happens. Thanks for replying!

Bit confused, i am well over 600pp without even the racing parts. Droped the power abd ecu output...still well over your numbers here. Did stuff get nerfed?
Nothing nerfed. Could be rear aero. Start from a clean sheet and give it another go.

So now a year later since posting this video, I have the EXACT same set-up you have no with no extra purchases. Even bought a another car because I had a custom livery on my other 1 and my PP sits at 610.64 which is clearly not the 599.99 you have. This is my issue with GT&, it seems like they feel the need to mess around with the cars almost for fun. This isn't any cheat code you have here, just a great set-up and they couldn't leave the game alone. I know all I have to do is add more ballast but that's not the point. Thanks for posting this, I just found your channel and subbed to get even more info. Hope they don't screw with anything else except to fix real problems. In order to get this set-up to work and keep the HP I had to go to 197 Ballast and a -49 which move the ballast all the way to the front. Hope that doesn't mess the handling up to much.

I normally just do 7 days, but yes far better to save them up. Takes away the disappointment and you feel like your winning.

did u have to tune down at all? I just bought the GREDDY 4 THIS RACE SPECIFICALLY. I DID NOT RACE IT YET. BUT ITS ALSO 599.99. but i am worried about the fuel consumption. It’s a slight tune down. The tune is in the first 5 minutes of the video. It’s a great tune and will win the race easy.
I manage 2:07 with greddy, easy win with 1 pitstop, and I'm not good driver, using the wall in 1st turn consistently 😅

I can't get this setup even close. Maybe because I'm in the US? This set up puts me at 688 HP at 617.27 PP. Maybe an update? Also, I cannot get the front below 110 but I do not see that accounting 18 PP.

Also on fuel level 1 with these settings it only lets me go 4 laps before I have to refuel
It goes 6 laps of fuel map 1 as proven last night in the live stream. If you watch the video you will see what it does and how it does it. But then again, you have another 50 cars to go at, search Tokyo and you’ll find numerous other cars, in fact every car from that race wins it.

Yes it will, no pp limit, and you will be well over powered. Easy win
How do you get titanium connecting rods and carbon propeller shift?
Level 50
You can take 130 seconds off your time if you do wall ride , same car. Comfort hard tires , normal suspension, fully cus diff , 60-146 downforce, no restriction or ballast, fully cus race trans to 380 , ultra turbo , strong anti lag , racing intercooler , all racing air stuff , racing slotted brakes and pads , streaming angle adaptor , racing clutch and flywheel, all of the engine tune and body work upgrades. You should have exactly 600 pp 1021 HP , 11:30 1/4 mille. You have to use fuel lv 4 and pass everyone twice , so everyone in the first straight, then in the turns the second time. With the clean race bonus and slamming through the menu it's over $2,000,000 an hour. If anyone can beat 24:20 please let me know how

Question: how did you reach downforce 60 at the front, as I cannot reach this number even if I mounted front wing. :( I copied the rest of the setings, but my car is at 615 pp, so i needed to add ballast, which makes the car slower :( someadvices please? Thx m8

Hi you get better fuel economy buy changing fuel map to 4, 5 , or 6. You can run quickly. Plus you can fuel save by short shifting, ie changing up early but if your controller auto this is difficult, so lift early and coast to corners.

Your not alone. A lot of people are getting wrong.
So double check each key item. Make sure you have the right ones.
None of my tunes are wide body.
Highly likely no rear aero.
Your so far over that u must have 3 or 4 things wrong.
Its 657.13 without aero at all, i'm thinking about selling and buying the car again to try to match this tune... I don't know if that is good idea?

Okay i corected my mistake, but i don't have titanium connecting rods and pistons so without it my pp is 595.15 what part should I install instead, high rpm turbo adds a lot of horsepower, should I try with it?
@jovanjeremic1995 I would just detune the rear wing /front wing to 600 pp, and test it.
There might be a big jump at a certain point.
I’m guessing your not level 50, that’s why you can’t buy those parts, but don’t be hung up on being 600pp.
Spend more time racing because this car smashes the pack so just get out there and enjoy it,
You might find some of the other engine parts make smaller changes so could close the gap to 600pp
This only works if you have level 50? You have the titanium rods and pistons those aren’t available for anyone under level 50
It works with out them… just drive it, you’ll see. You have to drive the car within itself and it’s very quick. Trade the extra pp for weight off.
Not sure what I’m doing wrong but I try and put everything the same like you do and my pp goes over 600 …I can’t seem to get this to work at all

A stock Nismo with Sport Hard could run 2:10, this definitely works. That thing sticks to the ground like glued on it even without the aero kit

Its still absolutly fine. If you try to drive it to hard, you will slip, but I just done it live on the channel and it still wins easily lapping the gentry.
