I started doing it this way a year ago and it's worked out really well. It's the only time I found my own workaround. I was very proud of myself.
Wow I was today years old to learn this and I've been crocheting for almost 20yrs! Thank you!
Awesome. I like that there will be no wrong or right side when it’s completed.
Great tip! Thanks for sharing.
I am going to try this now. Thankyou Mikey
Cool 😎 never would have thought about doing that ,thank you

Thanks Mikey. I've always gone one way with no twisting until my last few. Now I can prevent that.

Thank you it sure makes a lot more sense thank you now you made it clear to me and others.
Oh…thank you so much. I am a beginner. Very informative. It is greatly appreciated.☺️
I had tried the method you just presented but not with the half double crochet....your method will have a neater corner for me..I used the slip stitch before...thanks for the lesson..🙂
Thank you mikey I like the look of that I will try it next time I do a granny square xxamanda xx💕💖
Thanks so much for this tip I’m currently working my first granny squares blanket. I have completed 6 small squares but the rest I will do this way hopefully it want show up much that I changed from go in all one direction to this way I have a lot of little squares to make. 😃😃
Ty
Even If I don't turn my granny square I join with the half dbl. crochet. It makes a better square.
Yep, that's what I do.
❤❤❤❤😊
love this, it works great....what brand of hook are you using?
My Study of Texture was a bit skewed. I think I’m going to have a look at the pattern and see if I can change direction for some rounds.
I gotta be honest, I FREAKING HATE GRANNY SQUARES!!!! However, I 💕 💗 you, so I sit with some wine, and watch!
Do you do the same for the mosiac granny square?
Hmmm...I've been slip stitching then slip stitching across on to the next corner to start the chain 2, 2 DC, etc process all over again for the next row instead of beginning immediately after the joining slip stitch. This seems to work too, for me anyways...lol.
Will this help in all square type projects? I’m working on my temperature blanket but I keep adding stitches somewhere, maybe during color change…I’ll have 9 stitches on 3 sides but 11 or so on the 4th side 🤷🏼♀️. I’m using the linen or moss stitch.
Can i ask. As well as turning the work. Is itcessential to do that half double instead of the ch 2 slip ?
Me again. Coukd you use a half double on every corner?
👏👏👏👏👍🤝👉🙋🏼♀️🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀
Mikey I am too old to have this issue at this stage of the game...why are my squares puffin in the center? What am I doing wrong?
Oh I have changed my tension thinking it was too tight not the issue. Counted clusters those are fine. Chains in between clusters, fine. 😢
I turn every two rows and it still won’t spiral
Wait.. you don’t chain in between stitches? I was taught that you chain 2 after the 3 dc.
Some do, some don't. It's really about the look you're going for. I personally don't.
@@pamshafer7212 thanks!!
I have always turned and went back.Dont like this double crochet in the corner nonsense.
I imagine there is no need for you to do it then. As he said, it is an option
The double crochet stitch is done "to put you in the middle of the corner", as he said, if you do chains, it doesn't happen....
Thanks Mikey. I love Granny Squares but hated doing them. This is such a wonderful problem solver.
