Absolutely love how genuine you are. Both of those other presses are super expensive for most of us too. You’re extremely humble and transparent, I think majority of us gravitate towards you for that reason.
Good job with your channel BTW. You provide great inspiration and information for other leather crafter. I suggest to everyone to support this channel with monthly joining. It"s important to support independent creators who takes time to provide great content!
Awesome stuff! I got my half ton arbor press at Harbor Freight for around $40us with a coupon. It's not super high quality but it has worked for everything I've needed it to. I used it to stamp leather but didn't realize all the potential. Now I just need to get some dies made. Thanks for making this vid. Can't wait to see more! 👍👍
Beautiful info. Thanks, man! Can you talk a little about how you come up with your wallet designs. Do you have a starting point or base measurements you always take into consideration like credit cards, etc?
I have a 10 ton hand pump bearing press that I have been just needing to order the dies for. First got it for mechanical work, then have used it for when I have been steaming and bending wood as a clamping force, now for leather. cost me $300 CDN...usually more than one way to skin a cat:) thanks for showing what you are finding that is cost effective and still gets the job done...love it

Man, i just came across this video. Today i bought a hydraulic bearing press for my leather crafts. Unfortunately, i couldn't find the arbor press to start with. The bearing press is a little slower but much stronger.
Arbor press option is the best for small/beginner workshops, it doest cost much and do not need much space. Force to punch is quite enough, unless you punching 4mm leather :)
если вырубать большие детали, лучше всего работает если начать с кагого то угла и направить всё давление туда, и так обаити вогруг. если деталь небольшая, карманчик например, токда всё работеет обычно
Great idea to use the arbor press. I have a few projects requiring multiple cuts, which will work perfectly for my small shop. Also, I just realized I've bought some of your patterns from Etsy. Nice work my friend.
hey mate, thanks for the tips, I am picking an arbor press now and was balancing between 05 and 1T press, now I know which one to choose. Realized I saw your awesome works on instagram after I saw your logo. Good luck.
Thanks for this (and hi from a neighbour, I'm living in Latvia, near the border), just found a press for sale in Czech Republic, so will get it ordered next week and reboot my leatherworking.
@@strhandmade I bought something similar to this tinyurl.com/y3slf42f it's around $148 but you can still find bigger clicker presses similar to this. I love it. And it has a bigger area for pressing too. The flat surface is a big help. But I live the idea of using an arbor press too - saves money and space.
I saw someone modify their 1 tonne to add a drill adaptor. That way they can attach pricking iron, punch, logo stamp or whatever tool for repeated tasks.
hello I'm from Brazil. I don't speak your language, unfortunately. Could you tell me the number of this press? congratulations on the video and thanks for the great content.
Hello! Thanks a lot for sharing the information! How did you get in touch with the seller on Aliexpress about designing and producing custom cutting dies? Stay healthy!
An inspirational video, thanks. I recommend Atlas Dies Ltd. They supply these types of dies for leather cutting. They’re based near Romford, east of London. I’ve bought the dies and they’re top quality British made. Just need an arbor press now, a one tonne press not a half tonne press! Although, Atlas have their own clicker press and would do the cutting.

Great video, I've been looking at one for weeks now. For about 100 euros I can get a 1T press delivered from Amazon.de here in Europe. I was also thinking of using it to stamp my maker's mark, perhaps set some rivets and if I decide to go that route, use it to cut with smaller clicker dies. I'm glad yours suits You well and that even with smaller pressing force of 0.5T it works well for you.
I like the idea, I also tend to look for alternatives such as this one, also then video is very well done, you just got a new subscriber here, but I'm not sure I would go with this over investing in a formal hand operated clicker press.
@@strhandmade Indeed. If I ever get an arbor press I'm totally trying this. I'm currently cutting by hand and I don't have an arbor press or a clicker press, so I think I will eventually try to get one of the two

Good job Again my friend! I also bought an arbor press 1 ton a couple of months ago on amazon.ca and it it pretty useful for logo marking! Probably its more for businesses not for hobbyists, but you always can go with more affordable alternatives :)
Would 0.5 tons be sufficient for leather work? The product sold in my country is only 0.5 tons
I think for leather up to 2mm thickness should be ok

I use a half ton arbor press and stick a heavy duty steal pipe over the lever to give me more leverage power.

Inches are metric, 10 inches is 24 cm because the inch is defined in cm.
