- Опубліковано 7 жов 2024
- The Samsung Galaxy S8 can seem impossible to repair yourself. With no visible screws and a solidly glued-on display and rear panel, you might think there’s no hope of getting into this phone. But you absolutely can, and this video will walk you through the steps of replacing the display on your Samsung Galaxy S8.
When you take apart your Galaxy S8, be sure to follow the step-by-step instructions on iFixit.com. Not only will you find helpful photos and detailed instructions, you’ll also be able to read comments and suggestions from other users who have already completed the repair-which can be super helpful, especially if it’s your first DIY fix.

Keep in mind, that opening the Galaxy S8 will likely compromise its waterproof seals. Once your repair is complete, you’ll need to take extra care to avoid exposing your S8 to liquid damage in the future.
For this repair you’ll need
A replacement Display

Can you imagine a world where replace and remove are the same things ?
ummm.....any installation steps?....Title is stating "Replace", to me, would mean put a new unit in.
repeat steps in reverse
Shitty way to sell another video, also didn't he put the screen replacement link either
Listen to what she says at 0:28 "This process is an overview of the repair process".
Can I just use guitar picks and a credit card?
This video's best quality is that it's not entirely useless. It's worst quality is that it's still nearly useless.
Video should be titled "how to turn your phone into spare parts"
Lol
or "how to fix your phone if you're able to grasp very basic concepts"
LOL
You kind of left us high and dry. What about putting it back together? What about transferring components to the new screen?
Just like all women do, they tease, promise, Lie, and never follow through
She said to go to ifixit.com for the entire instructional video. That was just an overview of the process.
@@pitdawg6418 You sound like a bitch, homie.
I was talking to a screen repair tech yesterday about replacing the screen on the S8 and other S and Note models beginning with the S7. Samsung's design now includes using adhesive all over the device, which I think has been useful for getting a higher IP rating, but makes repairs and screen replacements WAY more difficult. This is really the first thing that has soured me on my otherwise stellar experiences with the Samsung flagship phones. This guy told me the screen repair cost on the S10 and Note 10 will likely cost $400+ unless you're brave enough to attempt it yourself. And, of course, the chance of investing a bunch of $$ in the screen repair kit and then still damaging your phone while trying to disassemble it seems a bit too high for my budget.
She didn't repair anything at all!
You just do the opposite, use double sided tape made for screen repair to re-attach the gkas.
She repaired my sore eyes anyway lol.
@jadex lol what screen you idiot
This video is to prevent people from buying galaxy and going to Apple 😂 as far I know repairing glass of iPhone 5 to 8 is easier 😂
Yeah, she only took off the screen.....
*$200 seems excessive for a DIY replacement screen kit on a phone with a street value of not much higher, especially with a now broken waterproof seal.*
This video is perfect for people who have done many phone repairs...not so much for the beginners 🤔
Zack says that the average jow trying to replace the display will 95% crack it. i guess that's not an issue if your display's already cracked
It would be nice to see the rest of the 'repair'
Damn.. you need all that? Yea, I think ima just pay somebody
This is just a brief overview like was stated in the beginning of the video. Seemed sufficient to me.
Now that all of that is out of the way .. you throw that old broken phone away and get a new one. Great video
The hard truth about replacing the screen on this phone is that it's extremely hard. Even if you do successfully replace the screen, you've removed the water resistant adhesive in the process. You're better off paying someone who has the right tools to do it, or buy a new phone.
Is the screen adhesive needed to install it back or is just for the waterproof purpose?
I love my Galaxy s8 but seeing shit like this makes me miss how easy my iPhone repairs were
The Iphone 6 is the easiest repair. but its the only iphone that is an easy repair. Samsungs are easier most of the time. the iphone 7 is ridiculous as is the I8.
Well the iPhone 7 and 8 are still much easier than the Galaxy series (6 and newer). It normally takes me about 15-30 mins to repair the iPhone 6 to 8. But the Galaxy devices normally take me about 45-90 mins depending on each model.
The only real annoying thing about the iPhone 7 and 8 are the Y000 screws, which are still better than gluing everything together and feeling like you're gonna break everything in the process with the Galaxy series.
huh? The iPhone 7 and 8 are just as easy as the 6. Just gotta be careful with the home button.
Easy to repair but more prone to damage once opened.
The reason being is probably due to the IP68 rating of Samsung phones from the S6 onwards.
Same with the xperia phones, that the Iphone really only just caught up to hahaha. And Iphone owners are raving about an outdated, and many years late technology that sony phones had since 2013.
How do you add new adhesive?
Do I have to remove the back if I just need to replace the glass screen not the lcd?
Great Video !!! but finishing the job would be greater. Put it back like jory is saying, we all have been waiting to put a new screen on to see how. Mustn;t be so hard i think.
I have bad burn in on my screen. Might need to do this.
The way to your phone surely knocks on heaven 's door
FYI you should add that, obviously, after cutting the adhesive gaskets that it will not be IP68 certified and may not be water resistant..
Zestypanda Hey I'm getting my samsung galaxy note 8 screen replacement by samsung? Will my phone still be IP 68 water RESISTANT like before?
obvious
do you have a complete course about repair mobile phones
abd alkader alnazer i think so...
I notice you reverse the footage of laying out all your tools at the beginning of the video to make them look super neat. Keen eyes, now can I have a free S8? :D
Can I replace my front screen ONLY without replacing or damaging the LCD & Digitizer?? I already have the front screen, tools needed and heat gun.. I get mixed answers so not sure
Yea ofc you can but the possibility of damaging that squishy LCD is almost at 100% if you do it for first time
Nice, thanks for the help! But, what do I do now? lol
Why do you have to remove the back to remove the front display..??
Hey! Can I use a hair dryer or heat gun in place of the eye opener?
In my experience no. The thing she uses is a good idea, because it's proper amount of heat in the right area. Hot air guns (big ones that aren't made for soldering) don't work well because it spreads too much heat and makes touching the device difficult.
glass sandwich, that was gold, XD
Finally, I Wanted To See What's Under The Display. I Broke My S8 At The Camera and The Camera Isn't Taking Good Photos and Im Thinking Of Taking Out The Screen To Free The Camera From The Broken Glass on Top and The Dust Of The Broken Glass On The Camera? Should I Do IT?
It'sJust Oscar That's waaay to many ands there bud. Try using periods (or full stops as they say in some countries).
The funny thing is that the set on their site with parts costs about $250 and you can get a renewed, like-new S8 on amazon for $230 , why would I replace the screen if it was cheaper to buy a new device? ......
After that waterproof will be work ????
Can someone explain to me how this channel still does not have millions of subscribers? :O
Luiz Lacerda Jerry rig everything does everything better than this channel. This channel is redundant and therefore has relatively low subscribers.
Thank you girl 😘
Title should be replaced with "How to remove the display" The re-place part wasn't included.
"OmG iT's aLl dIsAsSeMlEd! HoW aM I eVeR gOiNg tO pUt iT bAcK tOgEtHeR?!?"
Uhhhh, same way it came apart, _in reverse._
You won't be spoonfed all your life. Crying about reinstallation videos when she clearly said the full step-by-step repair is on their website. The entitlement is ungodly. Clowns.
Did you remove the glass or the full thing???
Wheres the rest if the video where you show us how to put it back together??
Lmao. I got to the end of the video. Now how to put it back together..
Where do we buy the front screen plus digitizer from?
Link in description
What is that little "shaft" for? I'm assuming it is for the SIM card to pop out when poked, but I'm not sure and I've lost it. After finishing my camera app isn't opening, does anyone know why?
You're charging USD 300 for the combined parts. If I go to Samsung, the cost is lower. At least in my country.
After the screen is if I heat where the adhesive is will that reseal the phone?
Sure would be nice to see it being put back together. Seems like that's a big part of the job you just glossed over.
Phil Liberatore Or, you know, you could just follow the steps in reverse order?
Or head to the website like she said in the beginning of the video.
Do you have one for playstation 4 controllers?
Ain’t learn anything but hit my lmaooo 📱
Is necessary glue for the retro cover?
Do you have a link to the replacement screens
thanks a lot...
This video was an eye opener. Well, it actually wasn't.
Were do you buy the screen
If i open change my phone battery then how waterproof will me work or isn't work???
Is there a part two..... 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
And zack said it was inpossible without breaking the screen
Well this is for replacing an already broken display so it doesnt matter if it gets worse
She just finished disassembling the phone and after that, she said 'That's all with this repair" wtf did you repair you just opened the phone ????
Can yall stop complaining? She says in the start to go to the websites guide, there's even a link in the disclaimer?? and that guide has another link to a adhesive applying guide.
not gonna lie. be prepared to buy a new back screen. the kit might help but good luck with that
Ok so the tools have already cost me half the cost of taking it in. I do not have any of those things! 😕
Geeze, after watching this process I may just go ahead and get an s9.
So where is that pressure sensitive sensor for the home button display?
It seems to me that the screen replacement shop, the phone company, and the makers of these phones are the only ones that going to profit on this video "Hummm??"
Good job on skipping the screen replacement part. Good thing I'm just watching for my entertainment. 😊
I prefer when women make these repair videos because they’re more picky about their work.
I watch men destroy their phones with hammers and women repair them with finesse. It's the cycle of life
There some thing unbelievable about to remove the screen alone from the frame because it is too much difficult than to remove it without to crash the screen or lcd for the glowed frame is too much hard to remove
I hope you can give us something better than this Vedio
Thanks a lot
just buy a display in a frame ya dingus
But i don't have Philip screw driver
Nice
Please share link from where can I.but I opened tool kit.
In the description, did you look?
How simple removable phones were...
No she didn't do that! Looks like someone opened it before and she's taking g the credit for it! 100% fake! But the persone who did it did a good job.
Is it still waterproof?
Matheus Freire Are you serious? No, of course not. Unless you go to Samsung themselves to put some special adhesive on . Any smartphone that has been repaired to this extent would compromise it's water resistance. Also, no current smartphone is waterproof.
JUST the problem of the massive cost of the new screen
Useful video thank you i fixit from amaravatitech
do you know what repair means?
Why do you remove the loud speaker and battery? Seems unnecessary
Around how much does it cost to get it fixed
300euro
My phone peices are all over the table now what....?
is the phone still waterproof after that???
No, as you melt and cut the waterproof adhesive to open the phone..
I HATE this FRICKEN phone!!! I have never regretted a purchase more!!!!
Why?
Done Voting me too😑
Fragile as fuck. I hate this phone too.
Same.. just cracked my screen.. not the worst crack, but you just know its gonna turn bad after a couple of months.
Honestly by fucking now they should have unbreakable screens
Lol never get that 4 mins back thanks
Pls help me I just got a brand new s8 and the left top side of my screen and glass lifts up very easy
should of been called how to break your s8 more
Chelsi is beautiful ☺
She did say to go to the site for the full instructions....#Lrn2Comprhnd #Lrn2ReadDescrption

thank you beautiful girl, thanks to your video I mounted it I adore you that the Lord protects you
Good grief....there's nearly as many triple 0 screws on that phone as on an entire current series nVidia GTX 10 series GPU backplate...
Hardcore Hardware lol
is this removing the glass and lcd?
Kenny Casimir LCD? Samsung flagship have always used OLED. Notice those last three letters (Led). There are no liquid crystals in Oled's.
I just wanna change glass why would I do all that extra stuff?
and people complain about how difficult it is to repair iphones and screws they use.
This didn't tell us how to replace anything, but rather just taking the phone apart.
Uhhh... I'll just buy a new phone, because you know it'll be 100 times harder than that.
Freakin phone was a hundred bucks. New phone time.
Looks fucking complicated. I better leave my cellphone with the broken screen lol
seems like you guys don't know the difference between repair and remove
Eye opener? LMFAO. Or a $10 heat gun. More product placement than tutorial. Here's an easy way to open ur phone. Take a flat head screwdriver then put it at the top of ur phone while standing it up kind of wedging the flat head between screen and phone. Next come down with about 100lbs of pressure with a hammer on the handle of screwdriver and Voilà. Phone open. Your welcome UA-cam

1 of 3 Worst phones ever (S6 & S7note) from good ol' sammy. Might be switching to Sony.
The sony phones are much worse design internally.
Hustleholics Anonymous at least you are not switching to apple so I approve
Switch to Xiaomi. The pocophone f1 to he exact
i hope i never have to open one of these.
Paul imWald You watch these videos for fun?
El Dave I watched out of curiosity
Why cant you just remove the front without doing all the extra bullshit on the back
Lol, that's what I thought. It's like changing the tyre on a car, but you also have to dismantle the engine. Think I'll just live with the crack
How gross, the iPhone 6s Plusses I repaired were so much easier lol
