That SG9 STI trans is almost the same as an STI, apart from the ratios. Your box will have super long range gear set with .707 to 1 in 6 gear.
I was wondering how it was going to be. Curious to feel the ratios. Hopefully soon!

Nice just did the same 6 speed swap into my bugeye , but EVERYTHING has been upgraded aside craving open the tanny, act clutch, act street light fly ... all upgraded bushings.. kartboy short throw

Hey man. My buddy just bought an 04 wrx hatchback and in it is a 5 speed micro polished cryo treated transmission. Do you know anything about this transmission? We were told that even if the car is totaled, that we need to save the trans. But we don't know what makes it so valuable. Do you have any information on this transmission? Many thanks
Well if it’s truly micro polished it’s worth prob 5-6k for the tranny alone

Thank you! The engine is more extensive of a process. You have to change the dash and engine harness. For the transmission swap, I believe iWire makes an adapter harness
Damm nice i have a RS bug eye that i am tring to swap with a jdm ej205 but have had problems and its bean sting 2 years now hope i can get it done soon then ill swap out my 5 for a 6 speed..

Those lateral links in the back are not sti they are whiteline adjustable lateral links

Will any STi trans including 2019+ work with 2003 wrx. Assume you need a shorter drive shaft
The transmission casing is roughly the same for all STI 6 speed transmissions, what changes throughout the years is the internals (Mostly gear ratios) and the wiring. I'm not too sure what years work for you outside of 02-07, but I would suggest staying in that year range. Its best to buy an entire swap with the differential, wheel hubs and brakes included. 2019+ STI transmissions are also, by far the most expensive. I'm also not entirely sure if the axles from an older STI ] will work with a newer transmission.

Hm I’m not sure, I believe the dash harness may have to change for a manual swap

Did you use the stock hubs or did you have to get sti hubs??
The car came with STI hubs fortunately
I have the same sti wheels on my legacy. These oem sti wheels can take a beating I tell you.

Yes you can! The engines are roughly the same externally. The 2.5 gets the extra displacement from space made inside!
