The end of the video where he is running and then slows down and then you see him stopping before the red light means "stop running". Maybe alluding to stop running from ones fears or stop being afraid of who you are.

His performance at the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards his speech made me cry. And Khalid is still in high school and he made a song about being 18/19 and living with his parents still. And her voice is amazing!! She performed along with Khalid with logic and the performance and I love that she doesn't like wearing any makeup.
