On the reflection boss "it would be cool if you could combat this" - doesn't realize that the boss is literally giving you the tools to combat it by making your fluff fiery to have small chip damage that reduces reflection stacks while only dealing 2 (he thought it was just self damage, not enemy damage that got reflected u.u). If you realize that it's actually a really cool boss design :o
He did realize it halfway through the first one, but your window for damage is so small cuz of all the padding that it does along with 400+ hp. You can do damage on the first turn, but what comes after that is 10 reflects that you can't use your strong attacks on *with no lava yet*, then you can finally use fluff, only for it to put up block after you spend all your time chipping away at the reflect, while also him charging up 40 damage, so you focus on defence. Then we repeat to do damage on the first turn. It sounds like a solid loop on paper, but in practice, it's just 10 repeated loops of absolute nothing Not to mention that he got +1 claw, imagine doing this fight with only 2 claws
i'm normally on the team of people ripping their hair out from Olexa doing some stuff (no offense if you're reading this Olexa--you're very funny and i love watching your content, but sometimes it feels like i pick up on what's going on before you do lol), but honestly i fully agree with him here about this boss sucking ass like, yes, you CAN counter it... but also, it just seems incredibly sluggish and annoying? it has such an insanely large healthpool, it constantly blocks, AND it's constantly reflecting attacks? i don't think it actually seems HARD necessarily, but it seems more like an infuriatingly aggravating design. the fact that he then encountered that boss a second time was actually the most mind-boggling thing about this lmao
"It's actually really cool boss design" until you realize further that if you have anything that boosts strength, particularly the +1 str every time you take damage perk you realize the boss becomes literally unbeatable.
This would be an amazing game to do an april 1st patch that makes the claw grabing true to real life. it would just open for no reason, claw preasure lets everything slip out one by one on the way to the hole.
Yea fr, most gripper machines have a randomizer for grip strength, when I worked at an entertainment center, our arcade dude told me that and for our specific machine, if no one won anything in X amount of turns, it would eventually get tick up and get max grip strength and then reset when someone won lol

Some people can already play the "obliterating North Korea" one depending on security clearance, the only issue is that it is kind of a reverse roguelite: if you lose, you restart with less stuff instead of more.
I built a gold build with the golden daggers and wrecked enemies kept adding piggy banks savings account among other gold gaining items and getting multipliers I think by the end of it I had over 275 coins so 32 hit each and I had multiple gold daggers as well add the magnet in with that and my DPS was pretty insane
You haven't seen it all until you've seen the Tic Tac Toe "roguelike" a friend and I made for a game jam. It's called Trick Stack Attack. Though, tbh, I'd barely even call it a rogue *LITE,* because the game doesn't "reset" when you die, but is instead made even easier in some ways and just sends you to the start of the progression with all your stuff still available. Tbh I wouldn't recommend trying it right now unless you want to climb a VERY steep learning curve, because in the 14ish days we had to make it, creating a good tutorial kinda got sidelined for having over an hour of playtime even for myself who programmed it all and thoroughly understands the enemy AI to the point that I can predict their next move with pretty good accuracy XD. We plan to remake it, but it's been slow recently.
this game would be interesting if there were more items that had stat growth persist between multiple fights when used/obtained (something that makes you want to aim for it for damage/shield +). I like the idea of a big prize item but its hard to get and rewarding when you do.
there's an exploit in this demo, if you save and quit and go back in to your run it resets the fight so u can reroll the enemy or boss you have to fight but it doesn't reset your gold currency so u can just keep picking up the piggy bank and farm infinite gold from the first fight, or use healing items and keep resetting for infinite healing
When you meet an annoying/specialized boss in Octopath Traveler or Zelda, you can say, "I'm skipping this one until a) I have the mental energy to endure the slog and/or b) I can think of a good build targeted at him specifically". When you might face him as a surprise foe in a permadeath situation, it's just a looming specter of hopeless torment. In regards to the "grab nothing strategy" it should not be removed, it should instead come at a cost. If you use a claw and didn't drop a single item or fluff down the chute, you take 3 damage. Or you can press a button to do this action
If you actually focused on grabbing piggybanks, especially with something like doubling them for being the only item grabbed, then the gold dagger could probably get pretty good. And as a dagger it is small and doesn't fill up your claw lie a shield or sword does!
For the reflecting moth dudes equipping a block each round pretty much renders them useless So for as op as they can be they can immediately be turned into nothing real quick
Gold dagger seems like it lied to you. It was doing 1 damage per coin you had, not 1 per 10 coins. Also the lava fluff was only doing damage to you because of the mirror. Since it only does 2 damage, they are probably the safest way to get rid of mirror turns.

Its a good game but it needs to fix A LOT of balancing issues, the moth boss is way too tanky and does way too much damage when he attacks, plus not only does he have way too much health and reflects way too much (10 is an absurd number of reflects), but also when you manage to take them down he guards almost 30 damage, also the plants that have 10 thorns on the first turn is way too overpowered for literally the first floor, 10 hits total from you to knock you out, plus they attack you so even less, it seems like the game is only really playable with a poison build where you dont attack as much wich is boring tbh, amazing concept, cool game, abhorrent balancing

This game is drastically different in deckbuilding than slay the spire lol.
And to be fair, before slay the spire there weren’t many turn based strategy roguelikes.
Can you overflow the machine and flood all the items at once?
No
intro music gives me persona 4 vibes
You should be a professional fluffer.
Maybe you would have had more money if you didn't avoid the piggy banks every time you were able to?
Have you played Against The Storm?
I haven’t but I think the time is soon for me to. I don’t expect it would perform well for me on UA-cam but we’ll see
@@OlexaYT Ah, ok ok. No rush.

I don't think you've seen the slot machine roguelite
Brother I was the very first creator to cover slot machine roguelikes lmao
I don't understand all those WASD games with no way to change the keys.
Not everyone has a qwerty keyboard !
Even for a demo this is wrong.
that boss isn’t even particularly fun to watch, you made a good decision to pull the chute
Could bet you havn't seen mine :p
I was watching to that point 😂
You’ve yet to see a golf solitaire roguelite 😏 check out Solitairica
This is definitely a new one I have never seen
You may not like it, it’s pretty luck based, but it’s super addictive.

1 minute?!?
This game is cool but my god is it irritating. I’ve never actually been so pissed off just from watching gameplay, that usually happens when I play the game myself. So many unfun stuff, hope they get fixed. Still will give it a shot though.
